Do higher numbers in “Top X” lists affect SEO? https://www.reddit.com/r/SEO/comments/v4svhq/do_higher_numbers_in_top_x_lists_affect_seo/
Say there’s two articles, “Top 100 Baby Names” and “Top 1,000 Baby Names”. All other things equal (to the best it can be), does Google care at all about the 100 vs 1000? Does it seem more authoritative to have more answers?

How can I make a gallery appear on mobile google search results? https://www.reddit.com/r/SEO/comments/v4r72y/how_can_i_make_a_gallery_appear_on_mobile_google/
I am currently working on a hotel website and I notice that some of our competitors have a gallery under their search results on mobile. I am pretty new to SEO and I am having a hard time figuring out what it is called and how to implement it on my site.
Plz help me!!! I really appreciate it!

It is still guest posting work? https://www.reddit.com/r/SEO/comments/v4p18j/it_is_still_guest_posting_work/
I have got a new client and he is in the business pretty competitive.
I've done the basics of SEO issues and content creation. In the backlinks creation, I step into guest posting, but my client has a very minimal budget for guest posting. I hardly find the free guest posting and most of them give no-follow links only. I just want to know whether guest posting still works or not. Does anyone give me alternative ways to build backlinks?

Possible to rank for brand name when it's a common noun? https://www.reddit.com/r/SEO/comments/v4ml41/possible_to_rank_for_brand_name_when_its_a_common/
Say I sell soft furnishings and my brand name is "Meringue". Obviously, top results for "meringue" are recipes, videos of recipes and definitions of the dessert. What are the chances, if any, of my brand ever featuring in the first SERP?
Given that search engines aim to provide the most relevant results to your search, then unless the brand becomes huge and Google deems that if you're searching for "meringue" you're more likely to be searching for the soft furnishings company than the food, then I would assume that first SERP is unlikely and paid search will be the way for the single brand term.
What do you think?

Question https://www.reddit.com/r/SEO/comments/v4lw0f/question/
Hi guys, so there was this guy walking in at our company selling his service. He was telling us he can rank for keywords for $250 each p/m. Nothing crazy i think. Also he was telling us he can domain boost our website for $5000 p/m. So i asked him how are you gonna do that? Then he told me he can not say that and his ‘trick’ is secret. I had my doubts but by boss agreed. Now 2 months further our website is getting a lot of SEO traffic + conversions. There also no record of striking backlinks. My question is; how? What can be his trick?

Does cold outreach still work to land your first client? https://www.reddit.com/r/SEO/comments/v4l1z1/does_cold_outreach_still_work_to_land_your_first/
Hey guys,
So I just recently made the shift from freelancing to starting my own agency. Unfortunately, I don't have a pre-existing network of clients I can tap into.
I practiced and learned most of of my SEO skills by working on my own affiliate website for a few years. I had 2 long-term SEO clients, both of whom contacted me first, so they were inbound clients.
One stuck with me, and the other received funding and decided to hire a full SEO team instead of using only resource (me), and I wasn't ready to work in-house.
Now, I am in a bit of a bind because I can't seem to land a client, and I'm not sure what the best way to go about it is.
I am attempting cold-outreach via email and also trying to create some sort of referral network through LinkedIn.
The problem is, I live in a different country now from most of target clients. I just moved out of the U.S. 6 months ago, so I can't really make in person connections.
So my question is, can I expect any results from cold outreach? My theory is, once I have partnered with 2 or 3 clients through cold outreach I can start relying on them for referrals, considering we do good work and rely on inbound marketing like SEO and PPC by then too.
If not, how do you recommend I find my first client?
Appreciate any insight. Thanks.

Backlink Anchor text strategy? https://www.reddit.com/r/SEO/comments/v4aw18/backlink_anchor_text_strategy/
90% of backlinking that occurs in my niche is through paid guest posts where I get to decide what is written and what is linked.
I have been doing a lot of money keyword linking - dangerous I know but I have been paying for high value sites and want to make the money count.
However, I know I need to diversify my anchor texts.
Is a viable strategy to -
buy 80% lower quality, but just not super valuable links with random or branded anchor texts and
buy 20% high quality, high link juice valuable links with money keywords?
And just rely on that for diversification? Is google smart enough to understand that this is happening? Want to keep SEO costs down and feel like it would be a waste of money to give great links a crappy anchor text if I don't have to.
Do not say do natural linking or whatever - that's not an option in my niche, so please just answer the Q please!
Many thanks in advance!

How much does it cost to pay someone to go thru my site and optimise to at least a decent/basic level? https://www.reddit.com/r/SEO/comments/v47ruh/how_much_does_it_cost_to_pay_someone_to_go_thru/
So new to websites and SEO but I've been wanting to transition from an Etsy store to my own Shopify website. I could learn with trial and error but sometimes I feel it would be better to just pay someone to set me up at least on a basic to decent level and go from there. How much does this service usually cost?

What can I do ? https://www.reddit.com/r/SEO/comments/v47ae4/what_can_i_do/
I've found a lot of SEO huge mistakes on the company's website I've just joined but when they tell me the cost of making small modifications I'm just... shocked. They've been working with a company that used Wordpress to create the website but now that it's effective, the costs to make modifications are absurdly high.
I am wondering if you know any way to take control of it, may it be through legal issues or Wordpress' customer service. For more context, I'm in France (obv not the same laws as in US). Thx
