Just casually decapitating some vintage dolls! I bought this lot of Honey Hill Bunch dolls for a good price on eBay. The little faces are very cute, and I thought they might work on Obitsu bodies. The redheads have pretty big heads, but the blonde will work on an Obitsu body in the proper color. It’s a proportion mismatch I can accept, since her head is only slightly bigger than a Kelly (not contemporary Chelsea, didn’t compare).
The bigger heads almost work on the bodies I paired them with? Obvi color is totally wrong but that Mr. Z body is fun and pretty cute. The CW body is nice bc it’s very versatile but I wanted these dolls to be more toddler or kindergarten age rather than tween/teenage. Does anyone have suggestions for kid bodies with articulation, besides the various Obitsu deviations on AliExpress? I’m already looking through those, hehe.

Meowdy dolleagues! My MO on tumblr lately has been to just post something and dip. Real life, she gets in the way! Anyways, I found something interesting on Amazon…

I never thought I’d have an M&C World Peacekeeper, especially this particular fellow. But apparently they’re still being made! Maybe everyone else knew, but I feel like I stumbled on a secret I must share with you all. 😙

it’s simple; all I need in life is to win a massive amount of money so I can afford to buy all the dolls I want and quit my job to have all the time I need to customize them.
I don’t think I’m asking for too much?

I'm an extremely lucky recipient of @dollsahoy 's 60cm downsizing, and I'm so happy 😭
This clown dress is perfect for several of my dolls, but Cyclops Girl has claimed it first. It's so good 🥹 Y'all won't believe how weighty this dress is in the hand. It makes the doll feel way more expensive wearing it. So much trim!
I'm gonna have a lot more to say about this package. 😍
#heavy breathing at this entire situation#the dress! the custom! the hat! all immaculate!!!!#notmydolls#custom doll

Meowdy dolleagues! Long time, no see. I’ve just been vibing and keeping to myself! But wanted to share an unusual (to me) doll from eBay. A 13” Mego Candi in bisque, with a signature on the bum from 1994. How odd! I’ve never heard of this doll being made in ceramic. Some dolls have ceramic versions but I figured that Candi was not popular enough to warrant this. Also 1994 is late for new merch as Mego was not around anymore by then IIRC.
Maybe someone made molds from a production Candi doll and cast at least one in bisque? The mind boggles!

Oh yeah I never posted a pic of my xinyi/make it pop hybrid, I got her head off of ebay for like 4 bucks back in july, I ended up styling her to look like a certain creepy singer but honestly I totally love this look, also that jacket is quite literally my favorite piece of doll clothing ever

Meowdy to all my doll buddies! I haven’t felt very inspired or interested in dolls these past few months, but since I bought a dresser (!!!) to sort my gals into I’m more engaged. And still washing dolls! Here we have a black Tiffany Taylor, Bettina by Sebino (found for $3.50!!!), Barbie Diaries Raquel(?), Gigi Grant, Bratz head, a Fashionista and some assorted bits and bobs. Also, a Madame Alexander portrait series doll with long red hair, bright green eyes, and no faceup. Haven’t been able to identify which one she is! Happy to be back in the dollosphere with you all. :3

Anyway, mattel losing the disney licence created one of the worst timelines in doll history, so we'll see what them regaining it does.

Long time, no doll! Happy 2022 *nervous laugh* everyone! Here’s a couple of gals from last year that I’ve been working on getting put together. The woman is a Creata head on a knockoff CyGirl body. She came in a red and purple romantic goth 50’s type dress, but had a necklace on that made me think of an Egyptian type theme. The Creata heads are funny to me and their big squareness is my aesthetic, and it matches the action figure body nicely.
The little lady is a Kid Kore head on a Mr. Z child body. Skin tone match is terrible but I can deal with it for now. I’ve been training her hair to lay more flat, considering it came in a nest of big 90’s curls. Not bad for now. The rooting is sparse so she’ll probably get a headband.
Both necks were ground down and shortened with a rotary tool. For Creata, I used the ball from her original body and glued it on the neck peg after shortening. She retains a good amount of movement. For KK, she got a new neck set up entirely. Plastic sprue threaded through two holes drilled in neck, with a Barbie neck peg wrapped in thread seal tape. Phew! Tedious but very worth it!
