Made for a comms sheet style test. (Which i'm still working on!) but also trying to be more cringe and free!! Of course i'm a Majima-simp. Thank you to a good friend who's inspiring me, so will hopefully maybe make some spicy stuff soon! (I've been making the comms sheet forever so like please don't hold me to this)

Ace of Pentacles - Josephine Montilyet I loved Josie. I really did. I think about Josie with her hair down a LOT. The suit of Pentacles represents her extremely well, tying in to her drive for financial prosperity, self-image, and practicality. Vivienne is next :)

Here is what a sample material study looks like for me. I try to take notes every time I do an in-depth dive like this, and include the brushes/process used to achieve these results consistently. It's very helpful when you forget how to render a piece of rusty metal for the 100000th time 🙃

I've made hundreds of icons for Nightingale, here is a glimpse at some of them! The metal bases for ingots was hand painted, the ores are a mixture of painting, 3D models, and photobash. I referenced Soulslike icon conventions heavily, especially Elden Ring. The alchemical symbol alphabet was developed to help with accessibility (differentiate all the ingots accounting for colour blindness).

Value studies for an upcoming landscape/background commission ft. some notes I take along the way. It's important to not just copy but think about why you are studying something, break it down, and record what you've learned to reference later. I'd like to show more of this part of my process because I was never taught how to study properly; and now I know there are more efficient ways to do so. Hopefully this helps someone - though don't take my notes as a direct tutorial. I just want them to serve as inspiration for your own art journey.
