For chapter 3 of Star Sphere Radio, I decided to draw Gregory Wolf, who reported the 'weather' in Chapter 1.

Backstory time: If you've watched the Roxanne and Gregory show for a few years, you'll know that Roxanne's dad is a werewolf. And that Roxanne is ALSO a werewolf. There was a big arc about Gregory wanting to become part of the 'wolfpack' that went completely off the rails, and Gregory decided he didn't want to be a werewolf.

But in THIS Gregory's dimension, he DID become a werewolf! He's also an adult here. All that werewolf magic made him much more buff and hairy. After his Roxanne died, Gregory decided to start a new life on the Star Sphere. He even grew a familial connection to a Roxanne from the plushie dimension. The two have become inseparable.

After much thought, I've decided to do letplays biweekly instead of weekly. The letsplays are more of a hobby, & I don't have enough subscribers to justify doing it weekly. This way, I have more time for larger projects, & I can build a nice buffer. Roots will continue next week!

The art for this story will be more sketchy and showcase different members of the Star Sphere. Here we have Julia Dewitt with one version of her gauntlets. I still haven't decided on what her gauntlets look like, so think of this as a placeholder for the final thing.

This was a complicated one. I originally drew this several years ago, back when I was planning to start Let's Plays again. It was also the first large drawings I had done in a long time. As a result, I experimented with various tools, including different ways to use the masking tool, researching various clothing styles for my character, and creating a multitude of mini thumbnails to determine the color, composition, and size. The mountains and logo are from official Rustylake artwork, and the hotel itself is traced. Everything else is hand-drawn by me.

That plan fell through until this year. I kept most of the thumbnail but redrew the figure. Here is the old version:

I realized I never posted the thumbnails from my Rusty Lake Let's Plays. In the future, I will be posting speed draws for each thumbnail.

An interdimensional radio station visits the Security Breach Show dimension, and the Celestial Family takes full advantage of it! But while everyone else kicks back and requests some new tunes, Solar learns that an old friend is trying to send him a message. Can he decode it in time? And will the news they bring change Solar's future with the celestial family forever?

Does anyone remember those old ipod comercials from the early 2000s? Yeah, those were a bit of an inspiration for this on.

I wanted to show more of the figures, but it just didn't work with the title. But I think it turned out well. I was planning to fully render and shade the characters, but it came off as a little too much. So, only basic coloring for this one. Also, the color scheme is based on a VERY specific character of importance in the story!

Solar was the hardest to color. Dude might be called orange, but he's more red than yellow and red is a PAIN to color with!

If you can't tell from the headphones and the name, it's going to be very music-based! But it's going to be very Solar-centric too! How? You'll just have to wait and see (hopefully next week).

Some character design for my character, Junebug. They all have the same face and usually the same height, but each one has a slightly different body. In the future, I'll be adding each Junebug's profile one by one. This chapter covers all known similarities between Junebugs.

Here we have the head and hair of the four known, and one unknown, Junebug, including their color swatches.

I finally made a height chart for Junebug. Up till now, I've been using already posted art as my point of reference. Going forward, THIS is how tall Junebug is compared to other animatronics. As you can imagine, she's a lot smaller than Sun.

-have a sweet tooth

-dye their hair their favorite color (except Jupiter, as she has no access to hair dye. Her hair turns white due to age)

-have majored in education and minored in computer science

-Each has used the moniker of Junebug, becoming a hacker who goes after child abusers

-Have a connection with one of the Celestial Family members

-swears a lot, as long as kids are not around

-like to wear very similar clothes (leather jackets, combat boots, and turtle necks)

-like chewing gum (favorite is usually watermelon)

-hate rats and mice

Sketch 1: This is my initial sketches for both images. I always start VERY sketchy, but this is the basic idea. My biggest issues were trying to figure out the movement of Jude's body as she swings her bat.

Sketch 2: Speaking of, here is the contact point, when Jude hits the Creator's little bot. As you can see, the image changed a lot because I drew the head of the bot wrong in initial sketches.

Sketch 3: To help with the angle of the illustration, I drew full body sketches of Jude holding the bot's head and experimented with angles

Sketch 4: I'm really proud of these sketches. I was having a lot of problems with Jude's pose when she hit's the bot's head. I couldn't use baseball reference because batters are standing still when they hit the ball, and they hit it at a different angle.

But Jude is swinging her bat low while running, and then stops suddenly as she hits. I needed the final image to show that shift of weight. Eventually, I realized that I needed to draw out the whole motion of the swing, just to get that final image to look right.

This required a lot of reenacting in real life and standing in front of the mirror to get the poses just right.

Fun fact: This scene is also based on one of my favorite panels from Full Metal Alchemist: When Izumi Curtis is staring down Greed and his lackeys. They ask who she is, and she screams, "I'M A HOUSEWIFE!"

It's a funny line out of context, but it's delivered in such a badass way.
