I just think Shang Qinghua should get so angry one time that he unconsciously overrides the System and unlocks Admin privileges and just deletes entire clans out of existance in the blink of an eye while going "writing you in was a mistake".

And I also think everyone who saw that refuses to ever talk about it, but they're all scared shitless of the tiny human by Mobei-jun's side now because they realize he's not just really smart and an amazing strategist, he's also a god and can kill them all in 0.5 seconds. And now they all think that Shang Qinghua is actually the one running the show and Mobei-jun is just, like, the face of the Northern kingdom only.

Shang Qinghua is utterly horrified when he snaps out of it and realizes what he's done (somehow??? He doesn't know wtf just happened) and how now everyone is terrified of him except for Mobei-jun who is just looking at him with heart in his eyes lmao

I really disagree with the idea that "hua cheng hates everyone but Xie Lian" because it's more that we just hardly ever get to see him interact with someone he doesn't have personal beef with.

like the people in ghost city seem to genuinely like him. he's known to provide protection to ghosts being hunted by cultivators. he literally *ripped out his eye* to protect a group of random humans. he's not an evil demon king with a soft spot for this one guy. he is genuinely kind to people who aren't Xie Lian sometimes, especially people who exist outside heaven's sphere of "respectability" ie ghosts.

is he rude and abrasive? yes, but there is a difference between being nice and being kind. are his morals dubious? yes, but so is heaven; hua cheng just doesn't try to hide it. Hua Cheng is completely sincere and is transparent about all his actions both good and bad which contrasts him from the cover-ups and false politeness of heaven

tgcf hunger games au could be devastating, especially with the slice of wu ming and all the crown princes parallels =)

mdzs hunger games au is basically a worse version of wen summer camp/sunshot campaign, but no one shoots coin (jin guangshan).

The tgcf AU has so much potential because of the various ages gaps between the characters, some of them could already be hunger games' winners, others could be the most recent tributes... I think that Jun Wu in the role of President Snow is so perfect too. They are both pathetic men obsessed with the same person for YEARS and make it everyone's problem.

I think Xie Lian's position in a Hunger Game's AU is also so interesting. He could be from the Capitol just as much as he could be from District 1 or 2. Heck, he could even be a career tribute! Oooh think about it: a career tribute Xie Lian who really just thought he would get all the glory and statue from being a Victor like he hoped, only to end up utterly traumatized from the arena, he becomes a Mentor against his will, and then years later Wu Ming is reaped. (If you'll allow me to also dwelve into the darker aspects of Hunger Game, given Xie Lian's renowned beauty, it's also high likely that after the games he is sold to rich clients in the Capitol for his "services" just like Finnick was).

On the other hand we also could have a Xie Lian who's completely from the Capitol and takes on a role similar to Effie, but is more active in the rebellion. He could have for example rigged with the reaping so that you her children wouldn't be chosen for the Hunger Games, and maybe Hong-er was one of those childrens, and so years later Hua Cheng gets into the arena to get closer to the man who saved his life as a child. (In that case, I like to think of Xie Lian's downfall as the Capitol humiliating him by throwing him into the arena alongside the other tributes who want nothing else but to rip someone from the Capitol apart).

So many good choices! In my personal favorite ideas for a tgcf x hg au : Pei Ming and Yushi Huang as Mentors for district 9 or 11, Shi Wudu as a Mentor from District 4 who rigged the reaping so that He Xuan would be picked instead of his younger sibling Shi Qingxuan (since he definitely knew it was a possibility after winning), Feng Xin and Mu Qing as Peacekeepers in training previous to Xie Lian being potentially thrown into the Hunger Games... I got some more but I'll stop there.

As for mdzs, it's sooo easy to make a Hunger Game AU with it because of the Wen summer camp/sunshot campaign as you said it, it's practically just a matter of re-adjusting the world's laws and boom it's already set. Wangxian as the cursed lovers of the Hunger Games, the Wen as the Capitol, Jiang Cheng as Wei Wuxian's childhood friend who wants nothing more than to see the Wen burn and suffer (like Gale in Mockingjay) and Jiang Yanli as the sister who wants to help her brother and tragically dies... God this fits so perfectly.

If I could add some more ideas to it: I think Wei Wuxian fits so perfectly in an equivalent of District 12, you could also decide that he's actually been adopted by the Jiangs after the death of his parents to live in the richer parts of the district, but under the condition that if anyone from the family is reaped he has to volunteer, and that's why he ended up in the Hunger Games. I like to think he volunteered for Jin Ling for whom it was just the first year (even though it would be more logical for it to Jiang Cheng), and while yes there had been the ultimatum from Yu Ziyuan, he also sincerely didn't want Jin Ling to go there. Also Jin Zixuan could be a Peacemaker in this case (though maybe one that broke his vows? I'm not sure) (imagine that Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan are much older here).

On the other hand, the idea of Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji as Mentors for the teens is also a very appealing one. Imagine you won the Hunger Games and then your adopted son gets sent into the arena with your nephew? Absolute tragedy. Also it fits the vibe of mdzs very well with all those traumatized adults that refuse to talk about their feelings or what happened to them but do their very best to protect the next generation because they know how important they are </3. Oooh Nie Huaisang could be a judge for the Hunger Games who then betray the Capitol like Plutarch!

Aaah so many good possibilities. As you can see I've thought about it A LOT. I also thought about how to "make it more Chinese" (like how the Hunger Game and "Panem" would look if it had been set in China instead of the US) but I need to develop that part a little bit more I believe.

I'm re-reading the Hunger Games series currently, and my roommate asked me how a hunger games au would work with svsss. My conclusion was that Luo Binghe would be reaped, Shen Jiu is begrudgingly his mentors, and Shen Yuan is Effie. Luo Binghe falls head over heels for Shen Yuan and everyone around him uses that as his strategy to get the sponsors attention: the forbidden love of a boy sent to the arena and the man from the Capitol that cares for him. Of course though, they don't expect Luo Binghe to actually win this Hunger Game and then claim his prize.

"What prize?"

"My husband duh."

And then he discovers that actually no, he can't marry Shen Yuan. Worse than that, to keep the story of the forbidden love, they'll actively try to prevent Luo Binghe from ever being with Shen Yuan. So now he's pissed, and people uses that to start a revolution, he gladly leads it, and when everything's done he finally gets to marry Shen Yuan. The end.

"The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System" is such a great title because it can either refer to the concept of the system (a magical electronically menu to help the player/protagonist in his transmigration journey) saving the villain, or to a system operated by an entire group of people that works to allow a villain to keep on doing villainous things.

People picking BingQiu are fooled by SQQ's narration. Yes there would be some sort of flirty back and forth between them, but nothing explicit. They would however talk about sex in front of you.

You'd think that Wangxian would be the worst offense, but if you look at the extras in the novel, you realize that while they're freaky they're careful to not be too freaky in public (with the exception of their confession at the temple).

Moshang will make you question whether or not you're witnessing domestic violence, however from the glimpses we got I don't think they would be too much into PDA.

Hualian however... Oh god. They kissed in public numerous times, Hua Cheng just CAN'T get his hands of Xie Lian even during the most casual conversations, Xie Lian is basically watering over Hua Cheng NEXT TO YOU. No. They would be the most insufferable. They wouldn't have sex right next to you, but they would have heavy PDA, and at least one or the other would make you understand that you're in the way.

I rest my case.

shen yuan is lady beetle. i was inspired by those yellow ladybugs which are called asian lady beetles so i just went w that for the name. he has the power of luck and anime on his side!

i can only imagine that, for the purposes of love square, sy and binghe HAVE met in their civilian forms. maybe at a signing? and then they just Keep Running Into Eachother.

binghe does instantly feel drawn to sy but hes a loyal cat and sy is NOT HIS SHIZUN so he doesnt care abt him. and then they. keep meeting. and sy. is not his shizun…right??? right guys??? (he starts to suspect him after the second time they meet as civilians but things just keep happening that make him dismiss the thought.)

crimson cat fell in love with lady beetle pretty much instantly. hes was nice to him one (1) time and cc was like. yep thats my wife.

i think lady beetle and crimson cat would have gotten their miraculous AROUND the same time, with lady beetle having gotten it slightly before. when they meet lb keeps making jokes abt teaching cc how to use it and calling him his disciple. cc obviously starts calling him shizun. it becomes a whole thing.

shen yuan still has crazy comphet and is like wow all the ladies must love binghe/crimson cat! he is soooo cool and talented and funny! wow he must get all the girls! hes so handsome!!

ALSO. i know tianlang-jun having the butterfly miraculous would like make sense for the show storyline but consider how fucking funny it would be if sqh was hawkmoth. mobei jun would have the peacock.
