TERESA THRIFTS: Coat and Jacket
You may or may not have noticed in my last blog that I talked about an on-trend thrifted bag. That’s just one of the many items I scored on my first ever thrift adventure in Quezon City. And it definitely won’t be the last because I loved the thrill of hunting down handed-down goods. You won’t think you could score GREAT FINDS. IN GOOD CONDITION. AT AN UNBELIEVABLE PRICE.
Just because something is cheap does not mean it is poor quality, amirite?

Coat Brand: VIOLA PER DONNA From: Fleur de lis Thrift Store
Who would have thought that something so luxurious-looking will only cost you two bucks? I got the last coat standing for 100php. This business attire staple sells pretty fast and there’s no wondering why. It dresses up a casual ensemble and is just really good for corporate events.
It’s just a tad bit too big for me, though. But it works well with either lightweight or oversized shirt underneath. Other than that, I don’t have anything bad to say about this coat.

From chic to edgy real quick! I actually found this black denim gem of a jacket in the men’s section. (There’s a lot of cool stuff in there btw, lads. In any store, in general.) I was already sold by its front detailing with the red and green stripes but THE BACK. CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE BACK? I haven’t owned a more badass piece! Overall, the jacket is still in good shape except that it’s missing a button (which is not even noticeable at all!) For only 100php, it’s a steal for sure.
Aside from the idea that you might be the only person who owns such unique clothing pieces, I love the fact that you get to revamp your wardrobe without causing negative environmental impact. Now that’s a win-win!

HOLIDAY STYLE GUIDE: HOW TO ACCESSORIZE
Dangling Earrings
From hoops to tassles, it’s now dangling’s turn to bedazzle. This style of earrings may be a little too bold to pull off (and not for everyday errand run), but certain occasions call for a fancy pair. Holidays, for one. You’ll instantly look expensive in the festivities with these jewelries.
I’m not one to go overboard on accessories but when styled right, I dig it. So with this striking detailing, opt for a sleek look. You never want to overkill. Balance is key.

Sling/Crossbody Bag
Bags don’t just comfortably hang on your shoulder, they also make a stylish accessory. Sling bags, in particular, adds urbanity to any outfit -- be it preppy or sporty. While this bag is perfect for cocktail parties, it’s still wearable for casual activities.
Personally, I’m all about the ones with the metal straps. Nothing like a good Chanel or Saint Laurent -inspired bag. Even better if you score one in a vintage store. (Which I did! Woooh go me!)

Bag: Vintage
Beret/Lieutenant Hat
Bonjour mademoiselle! Top off your holiday look serving some parisian vibe in a lieutenant hat (which is all over the place these days.) The trendy headwear is very versatile in complementing any style -- chic, street, hipster, athleisure, gothic, classic.
This hat is also essential on a bad hair day. Either worn as a necessity or an accessory, berets make any attire better.

Buckle Belt
Belts, in general, are a wardrobe staple. Not only does it hug your figure, belt also gives shape to a loose-fitting ensemble. But why not amp up its styling prowess with statement buckle? Never underestimate the pazzazz this accessory can add to your style. Even Santa wears one!
It looks edgy with jeans -- denim or leather, high-waist or low-rise. Also goes well with skirts, dresses and rompers.

WHAT TO WEAR: FESTIVE FABRICS
As much as it freaks me out, we’re already in the final stretch of 2017 (which means the festive season is upon us) and I won’t judge you if you want to slay the holidays HARDCORE. You gotta finish the year strong (with style!)
Whether you’re dressing up for a family reunion, a night out with friends, or a dinner date with your boyfriend (or anyone really), you can never go wrong with these clothing materials:
PARTY-READY IN SEQUINS
Luster and scene-stealer. This sparkly fabric is the go-to in any holiday party. The sequin detailing gives off a ‘90s impression yet a modern vibe at the same time. It’s a Kate Moss/Paris Hilton glam state of mind. And please don’t forget to use that glitter filter for that Instagram story. Get it girl! And get your groove on!

VERY POSH IN VELVET
Classic and classy. (Not to mention cozy.) Nothing screams holiday fashion more than velvet pieces. For me, at least. It’s the perfect fabric for the Christmas breeze. A wardrobe staple that is easy to throw on and requires minimal effort to style. The seamless fabric makes you look put together without really trying.

TOP: SM Store Skirt and Buckle Belt: Copper Shoes: H&M Bag: Vintage
EFFORTLESSLY CHIC IN PLAID
Casual yet formal. (And in between.) We’re not entirely ‘clueless’ about the plaid fashion in the ‘90s taking over the millennial generation. But what’s not to love? It adds some texture to a basic outfit. In case you missed it, the plaid print is seen everywhere –pants, skirts, shirts, coats, jackets. You name it! Cher approves.

COOL TONE WARMTH: A LOOKBOOK
It’s not everyday that you get to layer clothes in a tropical country, is it? So when I headed up north with my family last September, it was high time to dust off the sweaters for the cooler weather.
Baguio, being a picturesque city that it is, seemed to be a perfect scenery to blend in with --think pine trees, foggy skies and mountain sights. So I packed clothing pieces with earth colors such as green, yellow and blueish-gray tones.

I was wearing a pair of shorts on the way because I thought a mock neck sweater under a jacket will be enough to warm me up. Oh how the light-washed denim of the shorts and jacket matched perfectly! I was really feeling it... Until I have fully accepted the fact that I could never stand the breeze. So pants, it is!
A denim-on-denim ensemble is always a good idea but I went for a pop of color with the yellow sweater under. And the high-waisted pants worked with the crop top, giving the full look some shape.

TOP: Forever21 JACKET: LiaWear PANTS: Zara BOOTS: La Canadienne

Since this is our last full day in the city, I opted for the matching dress set that I packed (doesn’t that sound fashionable for a whole day of photo op?) I layered it with a plain army green jacket to go with the stripe pattern.
This outfit can work both as a day time and night time look. It is wearable for a stroll in the park and is stylish enough for a fancy night out.

JACKET: Cotton On BOOTS: La Canadienne SUNNIES: Bill Blass

Although comfort was never compromised in the first two looks, this was the most laid-back and casual among all the outfits I wore. And good thing it was because we decided to go horseback riding at the last minute so I couldn’t have chosen the best outfit for the day. And most importantly, I just wanted to lounge on our drive back home (which is five hours long, mind you!)
The key piece to this easy outfit is the turtle neck top. The simplest detail can make the look. To add some texture to the plain pieces, accessorize with a statement bag.

SWEATER: Mango PANTS: Zara BAG: Long Champ SUNNIES: Bill Blass BOOTS: La Canadienne
