YES the Thunderbolts have a fantastic team as family dynamic, yes they are living in Avengers tower, yes history is repeating itself and 2012 tower fics are so back. BUT!
instead of "Alexei eating poptarts" or "Yelena in the vents", we must come up with new headcanons and make history
Bob always does normal domestic chores, often getting in the way of important missions and spy business. "All I'm saying is Bucky is our best sniper" "It would be a much quieter assassination if I just slipped into the condo and cut his—" "Hey sorry guys, anyone have laundry? I'm doing a load"
Yelena and her guinea pig always eat meals together at the dining table. Everyone has their Chinese food or barbeque, meanwhile the rodent is loudly munching on a salad right beside them
Bucky is the mom and always keeps them on track. "Ava you have a dentist appointment in the morning, and bring Bob so they can add him to the insurance. Lena how was therapy? Alexei, I said no vodka until dinner"
Alexei is always coming up with new promotional ideas for the team. Cartoon tv show, cereal, toothpaste flavour...every day he thinks he's come up with the next big thing. Whenever they actually get put into production (Wheaties) he collects and saves it, and won't let anyone use a different product. (He threw out Yelena's frosted flakes and it took both Bucky and John to get her to stop attacking him)
Ava likes to phase and sneak attack her teammates at random. She claims it's for training but really she just thinks it's funny hearing them scream
John gets blamed for everything, even if it isn't his fault. Especially if it isn't his fault: "who ate the last bagel?" "John." "Where's my hair straightener?" "John had it." "Whose turn is it to unload the dishwasher?" "Johnnnn"

#30dtsc- Lieblingsepisode
-> Der Herr des Waldes
(English under the cut)
English:
Favourite episode
Der Herr des Waldes
I didn't have to think much about it, so why is "Der Herr des Waldes" my favourite episode?
It was the first episode of Spatort I ever watched. That shouldn't be the reason but adds onto it. I remember sitting there, having watched a few Tatorts with my parents.
My mum first didn't want to watch me to watch this episode because it's something "that could happen to me" based on the description of a student being murdered while just going to the forest. She had also told me those two inspectors were apparently together when they were younger. (Later I realized what she had actual meant by that and didn't mean together as in gay, but mind me I watched that episode believing Adam and Leo had something going on as teenagers.)
So anime-obsessed 15 year old me had never watched something gay as that with actual people. It was mind blowing because I saw those dorks and was so confused because there were actual gay people on my TV.
Therefore "Der Herr des Waldes" got a special place in my heart. But even if that weren't the case (hehe), I still just love it so much. So here some other points:
the case and all the case-characters are so weird
it's hilariously weird to watch them all
that scene where Adam&Leo stand in front of the class?? Hilarious
the scene were the team plays and discusses the case, absolutely love it
the scene where Pia talks about related cases in Europe, somehow I always think of it
that scene where they crawl in the cave?
the episode is so green, I love green
I could keep going like this, most of my favourite moments are from that episode, it's just so much fun, it brings me joy.
So next to all the other episodes, this one still somehow made it to be my favourite, despite (or rather because) it is so weird.

hot take or not but stevetony fundamentally NEED each other to balance them out...like if we be honest for a second they're both lowkey (highkey) control freaks who need things to be done THEIR way because they think it's the Best way.
and they both want the best for the earth and its people but sometimes they think and do stupid things and need someone to tell them hey man this is kinda crazy! but when you're steve rogers™️ and tony stark™️ there are rarely people who will straight up tell you No.....except each other!!!!
which is why they need the other person to call them out on shit that no one else will; their entire dynamic revolves around challenging each other and both becoming better for it

October 12: Cozy Coffee Shop
(Toasterverse, Steve/Tony, with some aggressive flirting. All of these can be found under the tag Sci's Fictober)
“How’s the drawing going?”
Steve looked up from his sketchpad, surprised at the interruption.  The barista was a short girl with a round face and a sweet smile.  There were little ghost shaped rhinestones stuck on the frames of her black glasses, and she was wearing a ‘Witching Hour’ shirt under the cafe apron.
He glanced back down at his drawing.  “Not my best work,” he said, giving her a lopsided smile.  “BUt sometimes it’s the effort, not the result.”
“I hear that.”  She picked up his empty cappuccino cup, slipping a fresh one onto the table in its place.
Steve blinked.  “Oh, I didn’t-”
She straightened up.  “I know.”  Her eyes tipped back over her shoulder, but her smile never faltered.  “Guy at the pickup station wanted to buy you a drink.”
Steve looked around her, not surprised to see Tony hovering at the end of the counter, his attention on his phone.  The afternoon light filtered through the coffee shop’s windows, catching on the sharp angle of his cheek and the line of his jaw, on the long sweep of dark lashes and the tumble of his hair.  He was dressed in a three piece suit, holding the jacket casually over his shoulder in one hand, his hip cocked, the vest accenting the trim turn of his waist and the straight line of his back.
Steve leaned back in his chair.  “That guy?”
“Yep.”  Her nose wrinkled in sympathy.  “Seems okay, but you didn’t seem to want company, so I told him I’d bring it over.”  She leaned over, straightening the magazines on the table.  “So if you want me to tell him you’ve got a significant other of some kind, I totally will.”
Steve looked over, in time to catch Tony’s eye as he glanced up from his phone, a slight, sly smile on his face.  Steve arched an eyebrow at him.  “Yeah, I do,” he told the barista with an easy smile.  “And it’s that idiot.”  He reached for the cappuccino cup.  “But he’s clearly doing a bit, so feel free to tell him I seem interested.”
“Oh.”  Her eyebrows shot up.  “Oh!”  Behind the cover of her body, she gave him a quick thumbs up.  “He do this often?”
“Often enough that I’m used to it, not so often that it’s a problem,” Steve said, taking another sip of the cappuccino.  It was perfectly made, and he let his eyes shut for a second, savoring the rich, sweet flavor.  “But since you were clearly concerned, and thank you for that, by the way.”
“You look like you can take care of yourself, but we have a strict no harassment policy here,” she said.  “Sometimes it’s better to be a buffer.”
“Appreciated, but there is a 99% chance I’m going to leave with him,” Steve admitted.
She laughed.  “That still leaves a chance you won’t?”
Steve leaned his cheek on one hand.  “I’m going to make him work for it,” he admitted.  “Because if he doesn’t put some effort into his flirting, he’s going to lose the knack, and that would be quite a shame.”
The barista turned back to the counter.  “I don’t think that’s going  to happen.”
“Probably not, but like I said.”  Steve grinned as he reached for his sketchbook.  “Some days, it’s the effort that counts.”
“Roger that.  Brace yourself, I’ll give him the green light.”
“I appreciate it.”  Steve picked up his pencil, and flipped to a new page of his sketchbook.  He let the tip flow across the paper, slow and smooth.  Wasting time.  Wasting supplies.  Letting the pencil wander, letting the movement flow through his fingers, his wrist, his elbow, his shoulder.
Drawing nothing in particular, because the act of drawing was all he needed.
“Hi.”
He didn’t look up.  “Hi.”
Out of the corner of his eye, Steve saw Tony step alongside him, his body tipping forward, looking over Steve’s shoulder at his sketchbook.  “What’re you drawing?”
“Still trying to decide that,” Steve said. He kept his head down, but his eyes tilted up towards Tony, who was holding an espresso cup on a saucer.  “Thanks for the drink.”
Tony smiled, that slow, easy smile that only came out when he was really happy.  “I saw your cup was empty.”  He gestured at the plush chair on the other side of the table.  “May I join you?”
“It’s a free country,” Steve said, struggling to keep a straight face.
Tony dropped his jacket on the back of the chair and took a seat, crossing his legs.  “Looking for a model?”
Steve had no idea how he pulled off lines like that.  If Steve had tried saying anything even close to that out loud, he would probably have died of embarrassment before the words were fully out of his mouth.  He shook his head with a smile.  “Always looking for a particularly interesting bowl of fruit, if you’ve got one handy.”
“Can’t help you with that, but if you come back to my place, I’ll show you my etchings.”
Steve choked on a laugh.  “Do you even know what an etching is?”
Tony smiled at him, confident and relaxed as he took a sip of his espresso.  “No, but I know it’s got something to do with art, and if I distract you with dinner, I can have a few delivered before we’re done with dessert.”
“I took the coffee because it was polite, I think dinner’s asking for a lot,” Steve said, raising one knee to brace his sketchbook out of Tony’s line of sight.  “You’re assuming I don’t have plans.”
Tony leaned to the side, eyes glinting with warmth.  “I think what I’m offering is better than any plans you might have.”
Steve’s pencil stilled on the page.  “There’s confidence, and there’s ego.  You’re right on the line.”
“I’m going to be stepping over that pretty often,” Tony admitted, his lips lingering on the rim of his cup.  “But I’m also incredibly flexible.”  He lingered over the word, soft and coaxing, rich with meaning. “If you’re busy tonight, I’ll take a raincheck.”
Steve shifted in his chair, feeling his face heat.  “I’m getting the feeling you’ll take a lot more than that.”
“Don’t worry, I give as good as I get,” Tony said, and if Steve had any sense, he’d toss his sketchpad and his drink and walk out before he made an idiot of himself.
Of course, it was probably far too late for that.
“You always this forward with a fella you just met?”
“Only the gorgeous ones,” Tony said, without missing a beat.  He looked towards the window behind Steve, his expression unreadable  “I saw you from outside, from the sidewalk.”
“I didn’t see you.”
His lips parted on a silent sigh.  “You were focusing so hard on what you were doing, I doubt you would’ve noticed me if I’d pounded on the window.”  He looked back at Steve, his eyes hooded.  “And I found myself wanting to get your attention somehow.”
Steve shoved a hand through his hair, and Tony’s eyes tracked the movement.  “So you decided to go with a drink, rather than knocking on the window?”
“It seemed more socially acceptable,” Tony said.  He turned the espresso cup in his hand, and Steve watched his fingers flex against the china, his heart pounding in his ears.  “But I’m not adverse to making a spectacle of myself.”
“I can tell,” Steve said, and his voice sounded rough.  “So what, you saw me, thought I was cute, thought you’d shoot your shot?”  He was holding onto his pencil a little too tight, and he made an effort to relax his grip.  “Is that all?”
“You draw as if your life depends on it,” Tony said, his voice barely above a whisper.  “As if nothing else exists, but you, and that book and your pencil.  You draw as there is nothing else in the world but what you could create, as if this is the only thing you want to do, the only thing you could ever want to do, like it is as natural as breathing and the worst fight you’ve ever had in your life.
“I stood on the sidewalk and watched you draw and wondered what I’d have to do to get you to look at me.”
Tony smiled.  “And now that you are, it’s so much better than I could’ve imagined.”
Steve took a deep breath.  “Okay.”  He stood up.
Tony didn’t move.  “Okay?”
“Yeah, that-”  Steve pointed at him.  “That’s gonna work, and you damn well know it, let’s go.”
Tony grinned.  “I haven’t finished my-”
Steve took the cup our of his hands, and downed the rest of the espresso with a single gulp.  He regretted it immediately.  “Jesus,” he managed, his throat closing up.  “All the things you can drink, and you just pick ‘suffering’ from the menu?”
“You’ve had worse,” Tony said, laughing.
“You paying eight bucks to drink worse than I got for free from the US military in an active war zone makes me question your sanity,” Steve said, and Tony was doubled over laughing now. Steve grinned down at him.  “C’mon, you flirt, put your money where your mouth is.”
“I mean, my mouth is going to go where ever you want it to go,” Tony said.  “And you’ve got free reign on the money, too, but damned if I can get you to take me up on it.”
He stood, and Steve was already there, right in front of him, in his personal space, and he saw Tony’s eyes widen in surprise before he leaned in, kissing him hard.
He felt Tony smile against his mouth, felt Tony’s fingers catch on his sweater, holding on tight.  “Dinner,” Tony whispered.
“After all this, you’re putting out first, we can call for take out afterwards,” Steve told him, and Tony was laughing against his neck, against his shoulder.  Steve grinned against his head.  “You think I’m kidding?”
“I’m really hoping you’re not.  Let’s go.  We can pick out some etchings.”

I thought a lot about how often Tony calls Steve "cap" and how it complicates things. After all, to be frank, few of us can entrust our feelings to a person who does not even call us by name!...So it turns out that Steve and Tony are so closed emotionally, at the same time Steve easily trusts other people, such as Sam. This is such a bitter situation that stevetony got into in canon. I don't think Tony sees this as a problem, but it is. I would like to read fic with discovered that)
I’m a little torn about how to respond to this, anon. I think it would certainly be interesting to have a darker/angstier fic that put forth a premise that Steve doesn’t trust Tony – I mean, I wrote Sucker Punch, and “Steve doesn’t trust Tony” was essentially the premise of that one – but I would regard it as an extreme AU of canon, because I feel like in 616 canon, Steve trusts Tony very much, and it’s mutual, and that furthermore Steve likes what Tony calls him.
I don’t think Tony’s use of “Cap” is in any way distancing – it’s a nickname, and nicknames are signs of affection, and (in this case, since it’s a rank) probably respect as well. Tony is what you might call an inveterate nicknamer. If you think about the core crew of friends he’s had in his solo book over the years – Happy, Pepper, Rhodey – those are literally all nicknames. And “Rhodey” is even a nickname of a last name. Are you going to say that that is distancing? That Tony and Rhodey don’t care about each other? That they haven’t literally told each other that they loved each other, on panel? Of course they care about each other.
Even outside of the main Iron Man cast, Tony still nicknames his friends. Back when Carol went by Warbird, Tony liked to call her “bird.” (I can’t find the panels now, but I know they’re at the end of Busiek’s IM run.) Lately he likes to call her spaceface. This is what Tony does with people he likes. He gives them nicknames.
I also think that the way Steve trusts Tony is different than the way he trusts Sam, and that he very possibly trusts Tony more than he trusts Sam. I’m not saying this because I’m a Steve/Tony shipper; I’m saying this because I honestly think they have a different dynamic. I mean, sure, Steve and Sam are great partners and they work fabulously together (and, hey, if you want to ship them, I absolutely see why you would) – I just feel like, when we see a focus on Steve and Sam’s relationship, it’s a Big Deal when they fight, and Steve is often reluctant to go to Sam with his problems, or tell Sam what he thinks about the state of their relationship. They’re great friends, but that’s not the kind of relationship they have.
For example, here in Cap #144 we see Steve lurking outside Sam’s window like a creepy creeper, worried about whether Sam is going to leave him for a woman (yes, I know), instead of talking to him about his damn feelings like a normal person:
Tumblr media
But when it’s Steve and Tony, Steve is not at all hesitant to tell Tony how he feels about him. We already know that he doesn’t hesitate to tell Tony when he thinks Tony is wrong, because that is pretty much how all their fights start – Armor Wars, Galactic Storm, Civil War, the existence of the Illuminati, the incursions. Even in that Empyre Aftermath panel I just posted, we can see Steve very gently shutting Tony down when Tony tries to joke about Registration.
But he tells Tony the good stuff, too. He always makes it clear to Tony that he thinks the world of him, that he’s happy to be working with him, and so on. A really good example of this is Avengers #144:
Tumblr media
Steve’s happy to be with the Avengers! He’s missed them! He’s missed Tony! And he’s especially missed Tony calling him Winghead! This does not strike me as a man who feels at all offended by Tony’s nicknames for him. He likes them! He misses them!
And we know that Tony does in fact call Steve by his first name as well. Tony is in fact a participant in that grand superhero tradition of switching from code names to first names in the middle of combat, when he’s really worried about Steve, as we see in Avengers X-Sanction #2:
Tumblr media
And Steve does it right back, as we can see in Avengers v4 #20:
Tumblr media
(We also see here that Steve calls himself Cap. It’s clearly not a name that bothers him.)
Steve in fact still does the switching-to-first-name thing, as recently as this year’s “Dark Ages” FCBD issue:
Tumblr media
When intimacy is called for, they definitely know how to use each other’s names. Avengers #221 is the classic example here, where Steve explicitly makes a point of telling Tony it’s okay to use his first name and Tony instantly goes with that:
Tumblr media
So, yeah, I’d have to disagree with you here and say that Tony’s nicknames are a sign of affection and that both Tony and Steve do trust each other in canon, although I am happy to entertain fic where this is not the case. I think it would make for a fun AU… but you’d really have to do a lot of work to convince me that that’s how it is in canon.

What are the best stony comics to read?❤
hi!!!! ok so these are my personal favourites for stevetony comics:
avengers prime — this exists bc bendis said and i quote: “they need to go out and have an adventure together to remind them why they love each other so much.” and that is exactly what happened
captain america and iron man: one night in madripoor — its like date night but for superheroes
captain america: man out of time — steve adjusting to the future, tony takes him on a date to the museum
1872 —honestly one of my fave universes for stevetony. its the whole ‘steve’s death is the shrapnel in tony’s heart’ thing that does it for me
new avengers (2005) — steve and tony reform the avengers!!!!!!! one of my favourite lineups ever but i would stop when it begins to tie into civil war
some angst:
fallen son: the death of captain america — steve is dead, tony mourns
what if? fallen son — like the one above but in this scenario, tony is dead. steve receives a letter from tony and honours it
civil war: casualties of war — in my honest opinion this and the confession are the only things you need to read from civil war era. idc how much ppl like angst, civil war was just written horribly and no one should have to go through that
civil war: the confession — like i said, read this and casualties of war and that is enough of civil war
individual issues that i like:
avengers (2013) annual #1 — this is captain handsome ordering you to rock n roll on that 45 ... enough said
avengers (1998) #70 — iconic red zone kiss
avengers endless wartime — good morning beloved
magneto: not a hero — steve and tony teasing each other abt safe words like the freaks that they are
others aka comics that i hesitate to rec but i feel like i should bc of how popular they are:
hickmanvengers — hear me out, i know this is one of the most recommended runs for stevetonies out there but the fallout of their relationship in this .... its so bad like no amount of angst is worth the irreparable damage done to their relationship. this run and civil war are the reasons why steve and tony are constantly being written as if they cant stand each other and i really do. not like that. that being said, it’s a really good comic story in GENERAL but not for stevetony
civil war ii: the oath — it’s kinda like the reverse confession but this gets a spot on this list bc it makes me feel disgusted that it’s hydra!cap saying this to comatose tony .... like it’s seriously so gross but there are really iconic and memorable quotes from here so do with that what you will (plus its only a one shot)
secret empire #6 — hydra!cap again :/ but this is the issue where ai tony is apologizing to hydra!cap for not being able to save him and where he tells him that hes his hero. it makes me so sad but again. hydra!cap
