The thought of Jake dying so early in the franchise scares me, but I do want to point out that there is no substantial evidence to prove he will kick the bucket. Theories have been suggesting he will die in the third film because James confirmed that the PoV character is going to be Loâak. It was essentially assumed that because Jake is no longer the narrator, he will become susceptible to a death that will mark a new arc, moving forward in the franchise with a less evil Quaritch and his children leading the storyline. Theoretically this could be true, but I personally donât see this happening simply as a result of him no longer being the narrator. I feel it is unreasonable to assume he will lose importance just because James decided to take a different route with his story-telling techniques. Another thing was that Jack Champion revealed there would be an unexpected moment which would leave audiences floored, which again could suggest the death of Jake. Yet there are a multitude of other occurrences which could shock audiences besides a major character death! Honestly I could just be completely in denial, and if he does end up dead I will eat my words. But until we get some kind of solid evidence besides a narrative change, Iâm fully convinced Jake will live. I canât see Avatar BEING Avatar, without him. đ„Č I donât want an Avatar franchise where Jake is gone 3 movies in either, we have only seen but a glimpse of his family life and romance with Neytiri, which is the ultimate foundation of these films.. why throw it away so soon? Iâm sure most people would agree.
Oh and one more thing, JC confirmed that there will be a new narrator for each upcoming film. So with the logic that being replaced as narrator = death, should we then be assuming the same about each upcoming main character? đ§
Didn't james Cameron say Jakr and Neytiri won't die though?
I donât know tbh but Iâll believe it regardless đ

Part 21 - Epilogue
âXilĂ€âs in labor.â
âMy wife is about to have my kid.â
âHoly shit, my kid. MineâŠâ
âIâm going to be a father.â
âFuck, I donât know if I can do this.â
To say Neteyam was freaking out was putting it mildly and- Oh fuck. His damn father-in-law was walking towards him. The last thing he wanted was for the man to see him like this.Â
The first time Neteyam had a full conversation with Jxo, he was ten years old.Â
To him, Jxo had always been a man of very few words. He never smiled, hated small talk and was extremely intimidating. But he was also incredibly respected throughout the entire clan, and well, Salveen liked him a lot, and so did bossy Dâavi, so those were good enough reasons for the ten year old to think him alright.Â
Being the chiefâs son brought its fair share of challenges. There was a time when a group of boys tried to bully him over his âgolden boyâ status. Neteyam had fought back- and lost.Â
He was ten, and a mess after. And instead of returning home, he ran to Salâs but sheâd already gone to the kitchens that evening.Â
Jxo, seeing his cuts and bruises beckoned him in and silently cleaned his injuries- a split lip, swollen cheek, scraped knees and bloody knuckles.Â
And when the man finally asked, âWhat happened?âÂ
Neteyam broke down and sobbed. He was hysterical and mad at himself for not being strong, mad that he was even crying. He was a man for Eywa sake! A soldier! A warrior! Just like his dad.Â
But that day he was grateful that Jxo didnât treat him like a silly kid- like everyone else did. Jxo calmed him. He was his usual gruff self and spoke to him straight. Treated him like an equal and imparted words of advice Neteyam needed to hear. Â
Flash forward to fifteen years later, on the night that he would become a father for the first time, Neteyam was hysterical just like that very day.Â
XilĂ€âs water had only broken half an hour ago and Neteyam was spiralling- or freaking out as his visiting brother had been teasing. Irritated and short tempered, he snapped at anyone who got too close to his mate who had been slowly pacing up and down the interior of the TsahĂŹkâs tent while her birthing room was being prepared.Â
And just like he did fifteen years ago, Jxo and his no nonsense- never one to beat around the bush, pulled him outside and called him an idiot- a skxawng, telling him he needed to to get his shit together and stop snarling and hissing at everyone like a âfucking palulukanâ.Â
When heâd finished telling him off, he blew out a breath then continued- far gentler or as gentle the man could be, parting fatherly words of wisdom and advice with a comforting hand clasped on his shoulder.Â
Neteyam humbled himself and took it all in, and by the end he felt lighter, calmer and far more level headed.Â
With a final, âDonât fuck it up. She needs you. So get in there, skxawng,â the soon to be father chuckled with a brisk nod, thanked the elder and headed towards his wife.Â
~
âSwear Iâve gone back twenty-five years,â Jake murmured in disbelief at his grandson in his arms. âHe looks just like you did, son.âÂ
Neytiri hastily wiped a tear that escaped her as she too stared transfixed.Â
âHeâs got Xiâs eyes,â Neteyam announced proudly as he lingered closely.Â
âAnd her ears,â his mother noted with another sniffle. âHeâs beautiful.â Neytiri gently stroked Sproutâs little fist. âJake, you've had him long enough. It is my turn again,â she bossed her husband.Â
Passed over to his grandmother, their baby made a soft sound. He whined and twisted slightly before settling back into sleep.
Jxo pressed another kiss to the top of his daughterâs head as she rested against his shoulder. âIâm so proud of you, darling,â her father told her for the third time since their parents were let in. âYou did good.âÂ
Sal nodded in agreement, her own eyes swimming in happy tears as she tucked a few of Xiâs braids behind her ear and continued to fuss over her- pouring her another cup of tea to help with the pain.Â
XilĂ€ was exhausted but yet a soft smile still graced her face as she watched their parents meet their son for the first time. Jxo was the first to hold him after heâd greeted her with quiet words of praise. And just like Moâat did, when she eased her son into her fatherâs arms, she didnât miss the way his eyes glistened.Â
The entire moment was heartwarming, yet slightly comical to a degree. She grinned as she watched her husband hover protectively, scrutinizing every move any of them made as they held their child.Â
Even when Jake huffed amused, stating, âYou know I had four of you right? I think I know how to hold a baby,â even then Neteyam didnât care, he still fretted and lectured and adjusted their holds.Â
âOh Eywa, youâre going to be a father just like my Jxo, arenât you?â Sal chuckled and gently adjusted her grandson with the unnecessary aid of her son-in-law who had told her for the third time to, âWatch his head.âÂ
âHuh?â Neteyam asked, baffled, the same time Jxo released a noise of offence.Â
âYes, yes. He never liked anyone holding our Dâavi. So protective he was.â She hummed wistfully at the memory, eyes never leaving the little one who had taken hold of her finger. âYou are so sweet, yes you are. Hi. Hi,â she whispered softly as he blinked up at her, waking from his doze.Â
âThis does not surprise me,â Neytiri chimed in. âNeteyam was never very good at sharing the things he loves. XilĂ€, and now our grandson will be included as well Iâm afra- Oh Sal, look at his eyes.âÂ
âMom!âÂ
But she ignored him since her and Salâs attention laid solely on baby Sprout who was yawning, tiny body stretching in Salâs hold.
âWeâd be lucky if we ever get to see the kid,â Jake said, joining in on the teasing. âKnowing our son, heâd keep them locked away.â
Neytiri frowned at this. âMy sweet Xi, you wonât let him hide the two of you away all the time, yes? I would like to see my grandson whenever I so pl-â
âMom. Of course youâd get to see him.â Then after a long pause Neteyam continued with, âBut there will be boundaries, and XilĂ€ and I would expect that you all would⊠respect them.âÂ
Jake covered his grin of amusement behind his fist and Jxo hid his in Xiâs hair- both menâs eyes automatically cutting to their wives who both had identical looks of indignation. In their heads Neteyam might as well just said they werenât allowed to see their grandson⊠ever.
The women looked about ready to protest, but in the end they gave their agreement without so much as a peep. Neytiri however did reach out and pull her son- who was twice her size- into a hug with a, âEywa, my baby is all grown up now.âÂ
âCan I have him, mother?â Xi was itching to have her son back in her arms. It hadnât been long but she missed him already.Â
Neteyam was the one to pass him over. His palm found Xiâs nape, thumb stroking her cheek as he stole a kiss from her, uncaring of their audience.Â
Sprout stretched with another yawn, fingers opening then curling back up before he nosed at her chest instinctively, cooing a tiny fuss as his legs kicked out.Â
Xi tossed a thin cloth over shoulder, covering herself and the babe. She bared one breast and guided him to her nipple. Her baby latched eagerly, little mouth suckling with gusto.Â
She knew it was probably a bit silly to want privacy since it was a natural thing to nurse oneâs baby in the open. But she wasnât there quite yet.Â
Eyes closed, she listened to the quiet conversation around her and leaned heavily on her husband who curled around her.Â
âWhat have you decided to name him?â Jxo asked his son-in-law. âHave you chosen yet?
XilĂ€ felt smiling lips against her forehead.Â
âZyden. Our sonâs name is Zyden.âÂ
~
Neteyam made his way towards the lively activity at the southern border of the clan- eyes roaming quickly to take in every inch of the scene.Â
The mission fleet that had just returned were being aided- travel packs and goods were unloaded while ikran wranglers steadied the restless mountain beasts.Â
After being months apart, riders were greeted with open arms by their waiting families and judging by the ease of their smiling faces, Neteyam breathed a small sigh of relief that there seemed to be no pressing worries.Â
Tasam whoâd led said mission was already talking to the chief. Jake nodded at whatever it was heâd said then clapped him on the shoulder before making his way towards another warrior.Â
Neteyam had missed Tasam, he realized. Seeing him after so long filled him with nostalgia, and the memory of them meeting for the first time on their very first day of Iknimaya training played in his mind.Â
ââTeyam! You look good, brother,â Tasam called out. He met him halfway, crooked smile wide at the sight of his comrade and friend. âFatherhood suits you.â
Neteyam couldnât hide his pride as they clasped arms in greeting. âTasam, welcome home. My son⊠Zyden,â he introduced, titling so that Tasam had a better view of the three month old strapped to his chest.Â
A soft swear word escaped Tasam when he saw the baby. He reached out and ran a knuckle along the back of Sproutâs hand in amazement. âHe favors your looks.âÂ
Zydenâs wide silver eyes tracked Tasamâs hand. He cooed loudly then promptly shoved his little fist against his mouth, making sucking sounds as he drooled all over his knuckles.
âI canât believe I missed so much. Howâs Xi? The birth went well?â
âIt did, thank Eywa and sheâs great. Tired but great.â
Tasam grinned at his friendâs expression. Neteyam was a hardass and as serious as they came. He always seemed to wear a mask of impassiveness that was near impossible to discern most days. Today however, the mask was nowhere to be seen.Â
âItâs good to see you this happy.â
âEywa has bountifully blessed me, how could I not be?â He jerked his head, gesturing for them to walk onwards, a large protective palm resting beneath Zyden. âTell me, how was the trip? Iâm sorry we missed you before you left. I didnât know youâd be gone so long.â
âI share the same sentiments. As for the trip, it was⊠interesting. The Sarentu clan⊠theyâre in a bad way. The couple months we stayed we managed to make some good changes, but they still need all the help they can get. Iâm hoping another fleet can ride out before the end of the week.â
âItâs that bad?âÂ
âTheir clan is but a fraction of ours and theyâre unable to help themselves properly. They have maybe five- six, capable hunters?â he said exasperated. âThe clan is exposed. Not enough warriors to provide protection. Not enough hunters to provide food. It is a wonder they have survived this long.â
Neteyam considered his words. âIt is things like this that make me glad my father reached out and started this entire initiative. Their chief said as much back at Awaâatlu. He came mainly in the hope that would help.â
With the nearest cluster of communities in sight, Tasam slowed his stroll causing Neteyam to do the same.Â
During their walk the father had kept periodically checking in on his son who seemed settled and content against him. Looking down, he saw that Zydenâs eyelids were slowly drooping, little mouth quivering in his sleep as though he were feeding.Â
âDo you think Kiri would like bellsprigs? As a gift I mean⊠It's kind of rare here but bountiful near this clearing I found back at Sarentu.â
The sudden topic change had Neteyam blinking in confusion.Â
âUm, sure? I think sheâd like them. Wait, aren't those extremely dangerous to harvest?â
âThey are- were,â Tasan held up his palm showing off a deep gash that was still healing, âbut itâs Kiri. Iâd do anything for her.âÂ
âHuh⊠You really like her, donât you?â He got no response and halted, noting his friend was no longer walking beside him. âWhat is it?âÂ
âI-â Tasam looked uncomfortable now and was no longer meeting his gaze. âI-â He hesitated again and rubbed at his brow, frowning deeply, almost as if heâd forgotten what he was supposed to say.Â
âTas-â
âI wish for your permission to court Kiri,â he rushed out.Â
A long uncomfortable silence proceeded before Neteyam found his voice again. âYou- uh, well why are you asking me? Shouldnât you be asking my parents?â
âIâm planning on it. I asked the chief if I could meet with him and your mother after I give my full report tomorrow,â he scratched his neck, âI suppose he knows what Iâm going to ask. Your father gave me this weird, blank look then sort of reluctantly agreed⊠But I- you seeâŠâ
It was jarring and almost amusing to Neteyam to see his friend so scatterbrained and fidgety. Was he⊠nervous? Shit, he was.
âWhat Iâm trying and evidently failing to say here, is- I care for your sister. She has my whole heart and⊠and although you are my commanding officer and my future chief and I have the highest of respect for you⊠Youâre also my closest friend, and as Kiriâs brother, Iâd very much like to have your permission in addition to your parentsâ.â
Eywa. Neteyam really wished his mate was here. He was not good with these kinds of situations. Not when it came to his sisters. No wonder Jxo always looked like he was about ready to punch his face most times.Â
Kiri and TasamâŠ? His sister and his- well who was Neteyam kidding, Tasam was as good as his best friend. Why did this all seem like a surprise to him though? He somehow knew it would be coming⊠didnât he?
He thought back to every interaction between the two. The man was smitten with Kiri, and Kiri⊠well, Kiri was near unrecognizable around Tasam.Â
He made her happy.Â
That was all that mattered, no?
âYou have my permission.âÂ
Tasamâs jaw fell a little, then he straightened up when Neteyamâs face turned mildly murderous.Â
âBut you should know, my sister is precious. I donât care if you hurt her unintentionally or not⊠you know what Iâm capable of.âÂ
It shouldâve been difficult to take the mighty Neteyamâs threats to heart when he had an adorable infant strapped to his chest. But Tasam still felt the sting of his words.
âAre you nervous to ask my parents?â Neteyam asked when theyâd made it to the heart of Home Camp.Â
âAm I nervous to ask the clanâs Olo'eyktan and Olo'eykte if I could court their eldest daughter? Thatâs a joke right?â Tasam huffed. âCourse Iâm nervous. But Iâve been wanting this for Kiri and I for so long now. That and I already told Kiri I was going to ask her when you all got back.â
Neteyam laughed, accidentally waking his son who woke with a startled cry. He was quick to comfort the baby with soothing strokes and pats on the back. He also gave him his index finger to hold which of course Zyden instantly put in his mouth.Â
âYou told Kiri you were going to ask her before you asked for my parents permission?âÂ
Tasam back slapped his arm, careful not to jostle the baby. âIf I remember correctly, you did about the same thing with your XilĂ€.âÂ
âShit, thatâs right.âÂ
âAnd worse⊠It was all the clan could talk about for months, some still to this very day. No meeting of the parents, no announcements, no ceremonies, no-â
âAlright alright, you made your poi-âÂ
âYouâre back!â a distant voice called excitedly.Â
Kiriâs smile was almost giddy as she made her way closer and from the look of Tasamâs he was probably- nope, definitely worse.Â
Ugh. Neteyam was suddenly nauseous. While the duo reunited- lovestruck gazes locked on each other, he focused on his son who was still biting away on his finger, drool leaking down his chin and along Neteyamâs palm.Â
âYour aunty Kiri and her new boyfriend are going to make your poor daddy sick, aren't they,â he whisper-sang to his son. âYes they are.âÂ
Zyden smiled up at this father as if he understood, gurgling while flashing his gums. Â
âOh here, let me help you with that.â Tasam swooped in with ease and hefted the heavy basket Kiri had been straining with.Â
âThank you.â Her cheeks were flushed and she bit her lip to tame her smile while she and the warrior continued to fail at being non obvious lovesick fools.Â
Zydenâs coo broke their spell.Â
ââTeyam!â Kiri exclaimed as if shocked to see him standing there.
âKiri.â
âAnd Zyden!â His sister snagged the baby right out of his carrier and held him close, squishing his cheek against hers as she rocked him.
Zyden looked slightly alarmed, eyes wide at the sudden movement but he did not cry.
Neteyam simply sighed at the pair all the while and of course, the mighty Tasam was just about melting at the sight.Â
~
âWhat are you up to, my love?â
The baby turned and gave his mother a cheeky grin that showed off all four of his baby teeth and it just about melted her heart.Â
But Xi wasnât fooled by his cuteness, she saw the glint of mischief shining through his expression.Â
The determined thing waited until she was busy folding another large sheet before he went off again, crawling towards his most recent fasciation.
âZyden.â XilĂ€âs tone was soft but firm. âUh-uh. No playing over there.â
Zyden released an unhappy whine at the reprimand. And despite his motherâs warning, he still reached and held onto the bottom of the wooden shelf to pull himself up on wobbly legs.Â
Even though the shelf that housed her husbandâs weapons was sturdy and Xi knew the baby couldnât reach anything, she still corrected her son- letting him know it was dangerous.Â
His little leg tried to lift, dangling with nowhere to perch. Not getting anywhere, he stomped his foot in frustration, though it didnât stop him from trying again.Â
âZyden Sully!â Xi clicked her tongue and shook her head. âUh-uh, mama said no. Come down from there.âÂ
At that, his tiny face scrunched up in anger, bottom lip pouting as tears rapidly pooled along his lash line. He pointed at the shelf and babbled his displeasure.
âI know. I know. But youâre too young for those. When youâre older Iâm sure daddy will love teaching you to use them.â
Zyden drew a long, silent breath then promptly wailed louder with his head thrown back. One would swear sheâd just ruined his entire life.  Â
âAw, come here, my love.âÂ
She could sense a full blown tantrum brewing and since Sal had told her earlier Zyden missed his afternoon nap, Xi expected her son would turn tired and cranky right around this time.Â
Laundry forgotten and scattered around her, she gave him her full attention, beckoning him over.Â
âZyden, my heart, come here.â
Listening, he carefully fell to his butt and crawled towards her. âMma-ma,â he cried, tiny tail flicking back and forth as he moved.
How was he so perfect?Â
Xi gathered him into her arms the second he was within reach and smothered him with kisses- forehead, cheeks, nose, angry twitching ears.
âSee? This is why we shouldnât miss nap time, my love. So cranky,â she cooed in a singsong tone.
He rubbed his eyes and yawned tiredly- proving her point, then impatiently pawed at the cloth that covered her chest.
âHang on, hang on.â
Settling him against her breast, he nursed more for comfort than hunger and while he fed, Xi stared down at him in adoration. She hummed a song and wiped away his lingering tears, thumb sliding across baby soft skin.
She marvelled over his wild curls while brushing them off his forehead and laughed quietly when he offered her his little foot for her to kiss, tiny toes wiggling cutely.Â
Nipple still in mouth, he smiled and reached up to pat her cheek, fingers gentle and stroking much like sheâd done to him.Â
The action caused a tiny pang of sadness to hit her. He was growing up so fast- too fast.
Every one of his milestones filled her with pride- his first smile, first laugh, first word. She may have shed a tear or two over his first tooth⊠and maybe over the second, third and fourth ones too. And although she was eager for all the other firsts- especially his first steps, each new milestone always reminded her that he wouldnât remain a baby forever, so she made sure to relish every moment.Â
The clanking sounds of their tentâs chimes alerted her that someone was here, and then the beaming face of her husband entering their home came into view.Â
âIâm home!âÂ
Meal forgotten, Zyden grappled and used her top to help pull himself seated, legs and arms kicking and flailing excitedly at the sight of his daddy, gums and four little teeth proudly on display.Â
âLook whoâs here, Sprout. Whoâs that?â
He glanced back at her and pointed at Neteyam who was hurriedly putting away his things.
Zyden prattled a garble of baby talk, tail slashing so fast, Xi thought itâd flick right off.Â
Unable to contain himself any longer and with a loud gleeful shriek, their son crawled right out of her lap and charged full speed across the tapestry-covered ground, towards his father- all traces of his mini tantrum gone.Â
Neteyam laughed while scooping him up and tossed him in the air before settling him high on his chest. âWhy are you naked, huh little man?â He smacked noisy kisses to Zydenâs chubby cheeks making the baby squeal happily.Â
âYour son figured out how to remove his tewng this evening.â Xi adjusted her top and picked up a towel to resume her folding. âEvery time I put it back on, he took it off and the game seemed never ending, so I let him win for today.âÂ
âOh yeah?â Neteyam grinned proudly, as if sheâd told him his son had accomplished some massive achievement. âYouâre so clever, Zyden. Daddyâs so proud of you.â
XilĂ€ paused and simply stared at her two favourite people in the universe. Eywa, did she love them with her entire being.Â
âMmba-Da-da.â Zyden babbled, tiny palms smacking Neteyamâs cheek and nose and mouth until he spotted and made a grab for the lone string of beads in his daddyâs hair.Â
âThatâs right, Sprout, thatâs me! Iâm daddy.âÂ
Only recently and after a lot of coaxing, Zyden had started saying dada. XilĂ€ didnât think sheâd ever seen her husband cry that much when heâd said it, but then again she herself was a sobbing sap when his first word was mama.Â
Neteyam made his way over and crouched down to greet his wife. She kissed him back and they both broke out into laughter when Sprout leaned over to do the same- drooly lips open against her cheek in his version of a kiss.Â
As soon as he was set down, Zyden crawled off towards a forgotten toy. He tossed it away then charged after it, finding fun in doing it over and again.Â
âI spoke to Loâak and Tsireya this morning,â Neteyam said conversationally as he started helping her fold the laundry.Â
ââTeyam,â she interrupted, using her âmom voiceâ as her husband so liked to call it. Xi had gotten distracted by the article heâd chosen to fold.Â
âWhat?â he asked in faux innocence. Neteyam snatched up another one after folding it to his best and shot her a naughty wink.
Her mate always went for her undercloths first, forever eager to handle the intimate, flimsy things. She shook her head and snickered while he continued on, telling her about Awaâatlu updates.Â
The pair chatted about their day- him informing of the new shipment of goods they were preparing to send to the Sarentu and Ta'unui clans, and her prattling on about her early morning lesson with Moâat and then filling him in on their sonâs fascination with his shelf of weapons.Â
At some point Zyden had grown bored of his toy and fussily demanded his daddyâs attention. Neteyam dramatically tossed him amidst a pile of clean furs, keeping him entertained as they fought playfully. Â
Later on, it was a battle to get Zyden to put his tewng back on, much less keep it on, but soon after, the little family of three made their way to the communal dinner, with their baby babbling the entire way there.
As if he belonged to her, Neytiri plucked their son out of his fatherâs arms the second they entered the clearing. Zyden was passed around from grandparent to grandparent before he finally settled contentedly next to his aunty Tuk who fussed over him as if she were a grown up.Â
It was honestly quite cute seeing her break off tiny pieces of soft root vegetables and feed them to him. She offered him sips of her water which just splashed right down his chest and scolded him lightly when he ate too fast. Â
Neytiri, who was nearer, kept careful watch and intercepted fast grabby hands whenever Zyden went after something he wasnât supposed to. Neteyam chuckled from his spot when his son made a dive for poor Tasamâs teylu.Â
The baby was most unhappy when his grandmother lifted him away with a chiding. He even gave Tuk what looked like a glare of betrayal after she giggled saying, âZyyyyden. You donât even have enough teeth to eat that, silly.âÂ
Midway through their meal, Dâav and her family showed up. Lâeya- toddler on a mission, plopped herself into Xiâs lap to excitedly show her a bug sheâd found on the way. âIt- it prewdy huh, aunty Xi? An it-it glows and eberyting too. See?â
Xi oohed and awed over the bug in her nieceâs palm and Neteyam did the same- pausing his conversation with Jake when she crawled into his lap as well, before eventually running off to do the same with her grandparents.Â
âYouâre late. You hate being late,â Xi teased her sister who settled beside her. She frowned when she really looked at her sister. âAre you unwell? Youâre pale. Here let me see your-â
Dâavi brushed her fussing off. âStop that. If mother catches you sheâs going to come over here and I donât need that right now. Youâre forgetting YalnĂŻk and I have two toddlers to wrangle, can you blame me for being la- why are you looking at me like that?âÂ
The older woman dropped all pretense when she saw her sisterâs shocked expression turn into a knowing grin.Â
Sighing in defeat, Dâavi glanced around their family huddle to make sure they werenât being overheard by their parents.Â
Their mother and father thankfully, both had their hands full. Jxo was eating while balancing Zyden on his knee- the baby focused as he chewed away on a massive piece of fruit and Sal had both Lâeo and Lâeya who she was fawning over and feeding out of her own meal.Â
âYou canât tell our parents yet,â Dâavi barely whispered.Â
âDâav.â Xiâs tail couldnât keep its cool, it sprung high in excitement. âSo youâre actually-â
âYep⊠pregnant. Iâm pretty sure it happened the night when Bwiin went and snitched on us.â She scoffed. âOur party was not that loud.âÂ
XilĂ€ remembered that night. She breastfed so she didnât indulge in the sweetened wines that were being passed around⊠Dâavi however had just stopped with her little ones, so she went all out, and was pretty much the life of the party. Theyâd gotten so rowdy, Bwiin, their motherâs nosy and grouchy friend had gone and reported them for disturbing the peace.Â
Xi bit her lip. âThe night you got drunk at Leatiâs bacholet party? And YalnĂŻk had to come get you?â She butchered that word for sure- every time too.
It was a surprise that Leati even wanted to take part in the odd human custom, but XilĂ€ realized that Zeâlu brought out a side to the woman that outshined her cold and somewhat mean disposition.Â
âYeah. I jumped my mate the moment he tossed my ass in bed... Ugh, and Iâve been so, so cautious, Xi and the one time, the one time I forget to have the damn tea. Bam. Pregnant.â She sighed. âOh Eywa, truly I pray itâs not twins again.âÂ
âAre you happy about this though? I canât tell.âÂ
Dâaviâs eyes turned watery. âOf course Iâm happy. To be honest I donât think itâs completely registered yet, but yes. Iâm so happy, Xi. And YalnĂŻk, ugh. The man is so damn excited. Heâs already hovering and-â
âDâav! Do you want ovumshrooms?âÂ
âYes, please,â she answered her mate who was currently putting out their food. âHeâs the best isnât he? I mean look at his face, and his body. Iâm the luckiest woman in this entire clan, arenât I?âÂ
Xi smiled, she felt the exact same way about her own husband.Â
She turned towards her son when she heard his cry of frustration. Tuk had just taken something out of his hand when he tried shoving it in his mouth. Zyden seemed to be telling her off in his baby speech, and kept reaching for it, whines turning fussier despite Tuk calmly telling him it wasnât food.Â
âZyden,â Neteyam called from beside her.Â
Their baby pointed at Tuk, as if begging his daddy to make her give it back to him.Â
XilĂ€ knew he wouldnât last much longer. He was tired and cranky and fighting sleep ever since he missed his afternoon nap. She watched him struggle to decide whether to cry or not. Luckily, Zyden was distracted by Lâeoâs giggle, so he crawled off towards cousins.Â
Lâeya was all smiles for the baby. She poked his nose in greeting, mouth full as she chewed her food. Lâeo offered him some of the buoyfish heâd been feasting on but Sal was quick to give her youngest grandchild a piece of a mashed bean pod instead.Â
Dâaviâs low groan pulled Xiâs attention away from their children. Her nose was wrinkled at the meat in her husbandâs leaf plate.Â
âSorry, sorry.â Yalnik moved his plate around so it wasnât too close to her and struck up a conversation with Tasam and Kiri who were on his other side.Â
âHow are you feeling this time around?â Xi asked. She handed her sister a piece of cider root to chew on.
âMy morning sickness feels more like all day sickness and Iâve got this lingering headache that refuses to go away. Iâve drank every tea possible to help ebb my symptoms and they all refuse to work. Can I come by the healer tents tomorrow? So you can check me over, make sure everythingâs okay? Iâve been putting off doing that.â
âOf course, Dâav.âÂ
âEywa. Mother will be mighty pleased. Just look at her now.â
Sal was in her element. The grandmother had all three little ones surrounding her. It was impossible to miss the happiness radiating off of her. Â
At home, Zyden was usually clingy with XilĂ€ and she relished in the feeling of him being attached to her, whether it was to be carried or simply wanting her attention at all times. But she wouldnât be lying when she said she also loved seeing Sprout socialize and bond with their family- especially with his grandparents. It was something she certainly never had growing up.Â
Another fifteen minutes passed before it finally happened.Â
âXiiii!â Tuk groaned dramatically as she hefted and carried a wiggly crying Zyden from under his arms. The baby was already reaching out and calling for her. âSprout wants you. Oof! Heâs getting so heavy,â she half laughed, half huffed when handing him over.Â
âHello, my love, are you being a naughty Na'vi for your aunty Tuk?âÂ
Zyden didnât waste any time, he stuck his little fist right down her top and gave a frustrated grizzle.Â
âThanks for taking care of him for us, Tuk.â
The little girl beamed at Xiâs praise, and giggled when Neteyam attacked her with his own brotherly affection before she dashed off.Â
XilĂ€ quickly tugged down the front of her top and Zyden eagerly found and latched onto her nipple to nurse. She smiled when his small sticky hand rested on her breast as his eyes instantly began to droop.Â
âIâm surprised he lasted this long,â Neteyam joked. He leaned over to kiss and nuzzle Zydenâs chubby cheek as he suckled, soft feeding sounds and breathy baby gulps making him and Xi smile at each other.Â
Lâeo appeared not too long after, food grease shining all over his face and chest. âI all done wid my food,â he told his mother proudly.
Dâavi chuckled. âGood job, baby.â She pulled him closer and wiped his face and hands despite his squirming.Â
When he made his escape, he approached his aunty. âI play with Zyhen, pwease, addy Xi.â
âAw, Iâm sorry, sweetie, but heâs falling asleep.â Xi caressed his cheek in apology. âYouâll get to see him tomorrow, okay?âÂ
Poor Lâeo looked so disappointed. His pout deepened when he turned to find his sister amongst their family, only to find she was already dozing in her grandfatherâs lap.Â
âCâmere bud,â YalnĂŻk reached out and scooped him up and Dâavi turned to give them both her attention.Â
Xi covered herself back up when she felt her nipple slip from Zydenâs lips.
âOh heâs out,â Neteyam laughed. He gathered their milk drunk baby in his arms and wiped away the trail of liquid that ran down his chubby cheek and into his little neck folds.
âHeâs growing up too fast,â Xi sighed, leaning against her husband to peer at their son. Their baby was sprawled without a care in the world, sticky coated skin, pudgy little tummy on display, tail curled up contentedly. âI feel like I blinked and now look at him. Gosh Iâm going to miss this age.â
Neteyam nodded in agreement. He kissed her forehead then whispered, âI know the feeling all too well... But you know thereâs a solution for that, right?âÂ
âWhat do you mean?â she murmured, perching her chin on his bicep.Â
âYou could always let me put another baby in you. Then another when they grow out of that age, and another when-â
XilĂ€ pressed her fingers to his lips and snickered at his response. âMay I remind you we are surrounded by our family. Donât start with that if youâre not able to do anything about it right now,â she teased back.Â
A dangerous glint shined in his eyes, nostrils flaring at her words.Â
âIâm not teasing, XilĂ€. I'm completely serious.âÂ
âOh I know. If it were up to you youâd keep me round and pregnant for an eternity, right?â She tucked a braid behind his ear, not so accidentally brushing the tip of his pointed ear with her thumb and smiled when he gave a subtle shudder.Â
âYouâre playing with fire, baby,â he warned but she simply gave him an innocent look and pretended she didnât know what he was talking about.Â
âBut on a serious note,â she whispered, âis it terrible that I just want to enjoy it being the three of us for now? Iâm not saying no indefinitely, after Zyden I know for sure I want more, but heâs not even a year old yet, he hasnât even taken his first steps. I want to give him as much attention and love as I can until we decide for sure to grow our family.âÂ
âNothingâs wrong with that, sweetheart. I like that plan.â
âYeah?â
âMhmm.â He sensed a lingering sadness from her, so to lighten the mood, he teased, âAnd anyway Iâll get to focus on getting my practice in while fucking you senseless.â
âNeteyam!â Her face bloomed in mortification and she glanced around to make sure he wasnât overheard.Â
Thereâs that smile he so loved to see.Â
~
True to her word, Lâeo got to see Zyden the next day.Â
The boys played loudly with the many block pieces their grandfather had crafted for them. Lâeya seemed to find them too rowdy for her, so she sat in her own little world with her toys until Tuk had come by and joined in with her.Â
XilĂ€ loved the sound of her sonâs laugh and she loved the sounds of her home filled with children playing.Â
Zyden squealed and clapped excitedly when Lâeo knocked down their pile of wooden blocks and then the two went back to building it all over again- it was mostly Lâeo, but Zyden sure helped by handing him each piece.Â
They were so stinking cute.Â
A little later on when he seemed to have grown bored, her son sought her out. He crawled after her and patted her calf, tiny palms opening and closing- asking for up.Â
The second she lifted him, he cuddled her, little face snuggled into her neck and Xi soaked it all up. It was her favourite feeling in the universe.Â
Neteyam looked up from his whittling and was quick to join the two. He tried burying his face on the other side of her neck, but Zyden wasnât having it.Â
Their son pushed his daddyâs face away along with a mess of protesting gibberish that had sounds like mama and dada scattered in between.Â
âI want cuddles too, you canât have her to yourself,â Neteyam quarrelled with the biggest grin on his face.Â
âMa-ma!â Zyden argued back fiercely. He leaned his head against hers- their cheeks squished together while he kept batting away his fatherâs affections for her. Â
âAh,â Neteyam dodged another fist. âIâll have you know she was mine first.â
âMa-ma!â Zydenâs both arms locked around her neck. He gave her a wet sloppy kiss on the cheek and grinned wide, and those four little teeth just about killed her.Â
âAlright, alright. Iâm jealous now. Come here, little man, Iâve got a bone to pick with you.â Neteyam stole him away and dramatically rolled them around on the floor. The baby shrieked and burst into breathy giggles as they play-fought.Â
Feeling like he was missing out on the fun, Lâeo ran and jumped in with a roar. âI rescue you Zyhen!â To which Neteyam pulled him in too.Â
XilĂ€ watched on and called out âoh noâs!â from the sidelines. Through her laughs she couldnât help feel a bit emotional. Neteyam was an incredible mate, but he was an even better father.Â
When he cried out asking for her to come save him, she eagerly and happily joined in until they were all a pile of giggling limbs.Â
~
Pillow muffling her screams, XilĂ€ arched as her mate licked her into another mind shattering orgasm.Â
It was the middle of the night and sheâd already woken on the cusp of one, finding her legs thrown over his broad shoulders with his head bobbing eagerly between her thighs, licking and sucking like a starved man⊠and he hadnât moved since.Â
ââTeyam.â Shuddering as she came down from another high, she feebly tried to push his head away, hips failing to escape his clutches. She was too sensitive and he didnât seem like he wanted to stop any time soon.Â
Yet he only tightened his grips and spread her legs wider, holding her firm with a bossy growl. âOne more.â
One more. One more. Thatâs what heâd said the last two times.Â
Her voice hitched when he nipped then sucked her clit hard, silencing her protests. He stretched her with his fingers, adding one after the other until she was stuffed with all three- digits curling and fucking her just right.Â
White noise clouded her ears and her eyes rolled into her head. Body seizing up as it quickly prepared to shatter again, she struggled to keep her moans at bay. Her poor knuckles were painfully white from their tight grips- one fisted in her mateâs hair, holding on for dear life while the other squeezed the pillow she was biting into.Â
She could just about cry when Neteyam slowed his pace. The wicked man wanted to draw out her pleasure and no matter how much she tried to ride his fingers faster, she failed.Â
He pushed her hand away when she dared to reach for her throbbing clit. Eywa. She was near delusional at this point.Â
âMine,â heâd snapped when she tried to touch again, and then as if teaching her a lesson, he simply reduced his actions even further, fingers curling deep and dragging torturously slow while he lazily lavished her clit with his tongue.Â
Turned into a mewling weepy mess, she was completely at his mercy. It seemed almost never ending.
Embarrassingly loud slick sounds emitted with every motion of his fingers making her arousal drench everything- his hand, face, her thighs, their sheets- shit, sheâd just changed these sheets.Â
XilĂ€âs orgasm blindsided her, making her cry out and damn near suffocate her husband with her thighs as her entire body seized up.Â
She was almost sure sheâd momentarily blacked out too, because when she finally came to her senses, her deep, heavy panting had calmed and the strong ripples of pleasure and orgasmic aftershocks had ebbed away, leaving her with lingering tingles.Â
Neteyam, as if he had all the time in the world, was sucking his fingers dry. It shouldnât have been a sexy sight, but damn if it was.Â
Damn him. Â
Then the asshole dived back down to lick her clean.Â
WACK.
âBaby!â His jaw dropped and he was staring at her in surprise.Â
Xi had actually smacked him with her pillow when he had the audacity to run his tongue across her oversensitive clit. He got the message this time. He snickered and just moved along to lick away the slick that coated her inner thighs instead.Â
Through their bond, tsaheylu still intact from when they went to sleep, she felt him. Like a rolling storm, he was all consuming. He was so pent up and clouded her with his intensity, she wouldnât be surprised if he combusted just then and there. It felt good to be the cause of it, honestly.Â
âYou didnât come?â Shit. Sheâd tried to move but her legs felt like flopping fish.Â
He shook his head and got up on his knees. She was greeted by an angry leaking dick, throbbing and needy in front her face.Â
XilĂ€ licked her lips, and between her thighs pulsed at the sight of him. Sitting up, she watched him wrap a hand around himself and give a firm stroke, thumb swiping across his tip before dragging back down again.Â
Although she was still a bit light headed, just like heâd done earlier, she batted his hand away to grip him herself.Â
At this he let out a pleased little groan and threaded his fingers through her hair. His hips gave a sudden snap and his dick twitched when she pressed a teasing kiss to the head of it- barely even making contact.Â
XilĂ€ smirked when she felt his fingers tighten in her hair, pulling slightly at her roots. âXilĂ€,â he growled, sending a rippling shiver down her spine.Â
âWhat?â she asked cunningly, âNo teasing?â
Through their bond she felt his building frustration, his impatience, his need. Tail circling her wrist, he got her moving.Â
So bossy.
She stroked his length and found her pace, setting a rhythm that had her mate quickly blowing out puffs of air as he seemed to be trying to keep his composure.Â
Cute, she thought. With her free hand she stroked his tail- its tip still wrapped around her wrist, both hands moving in tandem.Â
âXi-â
Reading his mind, her eyes found his own, locked and dangerous and just what he needed to get closer to his peak.Â
He was practically fucking her fist by now, and damn near exploded when her other hand left his tail to squeeze the base of his dick.Â
Xi licked him again, tongue running up the underside of him, along a vein, then circling its head. That was it, he couldnât control himself any longer, he came with a blinding force- a strangled endearment, falling from his lips.Â
Hot seed spluttered from him, painting his stomach, Xiâs hand and her pouty lips, a drop even landed on her nose.Â
A feeling of victory flooded XilĂ€. She loved seeing her mate come undone, loved seeing him lose control. A side of him she was the only one to ever see.Â
She stroked him all the way through, till his shudders ceased and his body grew lax and so pliant she was able to pull him down, his massive frame covering her entirely.Â
Their lips met in the middle for a searing, all consuming kiss. Xi could taste herself on his lips, she was sure it was the same for him.Â
Breaking apart for a much needed breath of air, Neteyam nipped her bottom lip. âSorry I woke you up.âÂ
XilĂ€ laughed. âNo youâre not.âÂ
He grinned too. âNo I'm not.âÂ
After they basked in the afterglow for another couple minutes, they cleaned themselves up, using water and washcloths to bathe each other, mouths unable to stop stealing kisses and hands unable to stop caressing.Â
Returning from checking on their son, he helped her strip their hammock and fasten a clean pelt before they both climbed in- him pulling her on top of his chest immediately.Â
âSprout was still asleep?â she asked, breaking him from his thoughts.Â
âMhmm, out like a light.â He kissed her forehead and she snuggled closer.Â
~
Somewhere between sleep and wake, Xi heard a hushed whisper.Â
âMama?â
She felt a familiar weight sat on top of her and the gentle pat, pat of a little palm on her cheek.
âMama. Mama! Mommy wake up, I have to tell you something really portent.âÂ
âMmm, Iâm up, Iâm up.â XilĂ€ blinked awake to the view of her sonâs sweet face. Exhaustion momentarily forgotten, she pulled him into her arms and across her chest, peppering kisses all over his cheeks. âGood morning, my love.âÂ
Zyden struggled a bit under his motherâs smothering, trying to wiggle out. âMama stop,â he giggled. âGuess what?â His voice was dramatically hushed despite it only being the two of them in the room.Â
âWhat?â she asked just as quietly to match his energy.
âDaddy say I can go fishing today!â Zyden shared, tail flicking in uncontrollable excitement behind him. As if reminding himself, he made a shhhh sound and pressed a finger to his lips before continuing softer. âAnd- and I get to use my new bow too. You know the one mama? The big boy one granpather Jxo make me? An- an Lâeo and Lâeya go too but no Jsâavi, cause he-he too small still and then daddy show me how to catch the fish!âÂ
XilĂ€ gasped dramatically as if she didnât already know all of this. âOh my Eywa! Thatâs all so exciting, my love!â
âYah! I- I catch you a really big fish, mama. Den you cook it.â
âI like that idea. What kind of fish should I make?â She smiled tiredly and smoothed her hand over his hair. He looked so much like his daddy.Â
âZyden!â Neteyam walked into their room, hands on his hips with a disappointed expression. âI thought I told you weâd tell your mama later. She just fell asleep, son.â
Zyden jumped at being caught, his sweet excited face turning into one of guilt. Brow puckered into a tiny frown, he pointed at his mother, then said as if it made all the sense in the world, âBut mama awake now daddy. So I tell her now. Later is too far.â Â
Both parents couldnât hold their amusement.Â
This kid.Â
âAlright little man, come on.â Neteyam grabbed him up and hung him upside down. Tickling his tummy, he made their son break out in a fit of uncontrollable giggles.Â
âDa-ha-ddyy!âÂ
When he set him on his feet, his father said seriously, âGo on and have your breakfast. All fishermen need to have a good meal before they set off for the day.â
âOhhhkaaay! Bye mama!âÂ
Neteyam blew out a breath and made his way over to Xi. âSorry. I swear I only turned my back away for a second and then he disappeared.âÂ
âItâs fine,â she assured, stretching her neck and puckering her lips, begging for a kiss as if he hadnât kissed her only three hours ago when sheâd gotten home.Â
Her husband obliged and when he pulled back he said, âWe missed you last night.âÂ
âMe too. I'll try not to make it a habit, but I was really needed for the night shift. Iâm sorry it was so last minute too.âÂ
âStop,â he ordered, nipping her lip in rebuke.Â
âBut it was date night⊠We made a promise to never miss a date night. I feel terrible. I promise Iâll make it up to you and-â She was about to apologize again so he silenced her with another kiss.Â
âXilĂ€. Itâs your job, baby. You were needed. It's okay. And anyway, Sprout and I had an awesome guys night.âÂ
âYeah?â
âMhm.â His voice drew to a deep whisper, âAlthough if you keep insisting on making it up to me, Iâd really really like to fuck you later. Itâs been ages.âÂ
Xiâs snicker was interrupted by a yawn. âYouâre being dramatic. Oh that does remind me though, I need to get more Qlaâira root. Iâm running out.âÂ
Neteyam got quiet. He perched his head on her chest, golden eyes almost pleading. âOr you could⊠not?âÂ
âBehave.â She batted him playfully and ran her fingers through his braids.Â
âIâm being serious. You know Zydenâs been asking for a sibling lately.âÂ
âI know, but we agreed when he turned five, to start trying again, remember?â
âTechnically, itâd be the same thing⊠If we get a head start from now, heâll probably be five by the time-âÂ
âZyden will be four in a couple months,â she laughed, cupping his face.
They heard a crash, followed by a, âDaaaddy! I had a naccident!âÂ
âDuty calls.â Neteyam lifted and hovered over her. âGet some sleep, alright? Weâll see you later. And weâre definitely not done talking about this.âÂ
âDaaadeeeee!âÂ
âComing!â
Xi frowned, when he left. She didnât know why she was even fighting this decision. She herself was ready for another child- and not just because of her mateâs pleas or their sonâs little saddened face when he asked them how come he, âdidnât have a baby like Lâeo and Lâeya had Jsâavi.â
Eywa had told her as much that she was ready as well. Her bond with the Great Mother had been growing stronger and stronger everyday.Â
So what was stopping her?
~
Later that night, during a family dinner, the kids excitedly ranted about everything that happened that day- all talking over each other and fighting over the attention of the adults.Â
It was a full family night. Neteyam and Xiâs home was not only filled with Jake and his family or Jxo and Sal. There was Dâav, Yalnik and their three little ones. Also Yalnikâs twin and his mate along with their brood of five kids- who had also gone fishing.Â
XilĂ€ saluted the men for having to take on so many of them. She wished she got to see them at it, since apparently theyâd roped along Tasam and Zeâlu to get in some practice.Â
Speaking of, Tasam and Kiri had even joined their rowdy bunch tonight- newly mated after their courtship. Their story was incredibly sweet. Theyâd gone the traditional route and followed through the steps of the Omatikayaâs customs. Â
Their love was blinding and Xi was so happy for them. Although it had been years now, she still noticed the one or two times poor Spider would shoot them concealed glances. She was rooting for her friend to find his happiness too.  Â
âAn den I shot my bow like,â Sprout made a dramatic reenactment, âan VOOSH! My arrow went so far into the water, and- and-â
âAnd the same time I shot mine too!â Lâeo chimed in. âAnd it hit a fish!â
âOh my! You caught one, Lâeo?â Sal asked, intrigued by their story.Â
âNo,â the boy said sadly. âThe fish swam away. Lâeya got one though.â
The little girl blushed when the room broke out into cheers for her.Â
XilĂ€ loved nights like these. Their family dinners were always a boisterous affair. She felt entirely whole- as if she belonged. A feeling she fought to find for years.Â
She watched her son seated in the cradle of his dadâs legs. They were both talking animatedly with Moâat whose aged face was nothing but smiles.Â
Something within Xi suddenly clicked. That uncertain emotion that had been plaguing her now had an answer and a flare of guilt followed the revelation.Â
Stephan had taught her an expression once, âWaiting for the other shoe to drop.â
It made sense now why she herself kept putting off having another baby, because thatâs what sheâd been doing, wasnât she?
Waiting for the other shoe to drop?
Waiting for things to go wrong, waiting to be told she no longer belonged. Waiting to see if she and her son would be casted out.
A weight lifted off her shoulders now that she knew what was holding her back. Stupid thoughts that would bear no fruits.
She had her whole life ahead of her. One filled with the joy and love of her and her mate, and of their children. Xi stared at her son, her son. Of course sheâd wanted more of him, she Neteyam truly made ridiculously cute babies.Â
Before she shook off her thoughts and returned to the present, she gave herself a mini metal pep talk- the reassurance that always seemed to help the times her mind clouded in darkness.Â
She was here.Â
She was safe.Â
She was loved.
And she had found, her Safe Haven.Â
 ~
Once again, my deepest thanks goes out to all of you who have taken this journey with me, to all of you who have read, and liked and commented.
Special thanks to all who gave suggestions and ideas. I love interacting and hearing your thoughts!
I poured my heart and soul into this story and the unbelievable feedback I've gotten- there's no greater gift.
Although there is one more part I'd like to put out- "a slice of life" to specify, I am officially marking this story as Complete!
Here's to more stories in the future ahead. đ

So who was gonna tell me Jamie has Tumblr? đ€š
i miss dancing
Iâm falling & forgetting my own name.
Whatâs all this anyway?Â
The whiteness of the crashing wave just turned into a cloud.Â
After a breath
Itâs all with me now.Â
Sit me down in beauty & I promise not to fidget.
Future & progress became your God.
The slightest curve in the constantÂ
Gives the horizon somewhere to stop.Â
I was alone- they were everything & gifted.Â
Prayer was the admission of confusion being embedded in my wishes.Â
This gift became just another possession Iâm anxious to loose.
And now modern man canât own the moment.Â
They want all of time
Dancing around a room
Just to own the floor.
I miss dancing in my room.
I miss falling
And forgetting what to say.Â

I need to let out my inner slut and tell you how much I want neteyam x human reader getting eaten out by him for the first time đđ
A helping friend
Adult Neteyam x fem!human reader
Summary : As the great friend Neteyam is, he always helps you and teaches you something new. But one day, he taught you what pleasure feels like.
Warnings : oral (fem receiving), dom!Neteyam, sub!Reader, first time, virginity loss, size difference, praising, reader being trapped under Neteyam but he enjoys it, reader kinda gets intimidated by Neteyam's gaze and looks away
Word count : almost 1.5k
Translations : narlor - beautiful ; yawntutsyĂŹp - little loved one ; sevin - pretty (female) ; syulang - flower
It is true that you and Neteyam are best buddies since you were little. You two were always with one another, never being alone. If you were somewhere, Neteyam was after you and vice versa.
As time passed and you both grew older and became even closer. He began bringing you new things he found interesting and taught you about them as much as he already knows. He wanted to make sure that even if you're human, you know everything about his clan. He wanted you to know every plant, animal and weapon, to identify them as quickly as possible.
He thought he taught you everything you needed to know, but he was wrong.
â.àłàż*:
Neteyam is finally free. All his duties for today are finished and he can rest in peace. He takes his bow and walks back to his family's hut, desiring a much deserved nap. Neteyam's a busy man because the role of the next Olo'eyktan doesn't come just like that, he has responsibilities too.
He enters the hut and places his weapons and warrior garments next to the flap, in their original spot. His golden eyes scan the area and find out he's alone. His parents must have left and his siblings are out somewhere, doing something probably crazy.
A sigh leaves his mouth and he storms out of the hut. He can't stay like that, alone. But he decides to visit his little human.
You are the most annoying thing he has ever met but he won't trade you for anything in the world. You are funny too, something he adores but also hates at the same time since your humour can be a bit too much for him.
Neteyam walks towards the lab, his long strides carrying him the distance as he arrives in just a few minutes. He pushes the door open and extends his large arm to grab a breathing mask. He brings it to his neck and lets it hang loosely around it as he lifts the mask to his nose and breathes in and out.
Neteyam makes his way to your room, knowing the way like the back of his hand. There, he sees you lying flat on your bed, a book in your hands. You are wearing an oversized t-shirt of Spider's since he doesn't wear them and a pair of shorts that belong to you and reach just below your butt. Neteyam had always joked about the way you looked but not in a bad way. He likes the way your body looks and wants you to know that.
With great care, he goes towards you and lets his big body fall on top of your fragile one, earning a surprised yelp from you.
"Get off!" you demand and instead of moving off of you, he chuckles and wraps his long arms around you, looking yours inside his to keep you close.
"It's not funny Teyam." you sigh and try to wiggle out of his grasp only for him to hug you tighter.
"Don't wanna." he mumbles in the crook of your neck, his hot breath tickling your skin. "I like to stay here, on top of you." you feel like going crazy. Besides him being heavy as fuck, he is also stubborn and hard to convince.
"You are going to crush me. Get off so we could talk like two normal people!" now your patience is running off but Neteyam doesn't pay attention. Man is in his own world.
"Have I ever told you I'm not normal?" you don't need confirmation, he is teasing you and has that smug smile on his face. You want to slap him hard. Right now, right here. But you can't! Why? Because he has you trapped underneath him. What made you choose a behemoth as your best friend?
You want to speak again, but he is quick to cut you off, "I brought you nothing today... but I guess I could show you something new." his raspy voice lingers in your ears for a moment longer. Something new?
"What do you mean, Teyam? You said you didn't bring me anything for today?" you ask but he chuckles again.
"Have you ever..." he stops speaking as his large hand sneaks its way to the band of your shorts, pulling at it before letting go of it and watching it slap against your hip. You breath hitches in your chest at the thought of him touching you. It's true that you never touched yourself before because you didn't know how. You wanted your first time to be special, not you masturbating yourself.
"No..." you let out a shaky breath as he runs one long finger across your already soaked folds, collecting all your juices.
"Then why don't we try, huh?" he's teasing you, enjoying the fact that from someone with attitude he turned you into a mess who can't even comprehend her own words.
You don't know if you should. Yes, you are best friends and trust each other with your lives but this, you don't know if you can allow him to take away your virginity.
As if he's sensing your discomfort, Neteyam places a wet kiss on the back of your nape.
"I will make you feel good, narlor. Let me give you a taste of what you never experienced." his plea sounds so good that you almost nodded. His large digit rubs circles on your clit, and you involuntarily arch your back in his chest.
"There you are. I knew you would like this." he continues to rub your bud, his eyes never leaving your tiny frame that was trapped under his mass.
"Neteyam..." "I'm right here yawntutsyĂŹp. Tell me you like it, tell me you want more." when you don't answer, he pulls back. All the pleasure you felt is now gone like it wasn't even there. A whine leaves your mouth at his action, regretting not responding to his question.
"See what you did? You always talk but now you can't tell me 'yes'?" he lifts himself off of you and rolls you over on you back, your calves being put over his thick thighs.
"You are rude." you point your finger at him but he smirks down at you. Gently, he pulls down your shorts and is surprised not to see anything else under.
"Nothing? It's like you were calling for me." Neteyam leans down and takes a long breath, your scent intoxicating him. Your aroma is what Neteyam is addicted to from now on. His blue lips make contact with your hot skin, leaving sloppy kisses along your stomach and inner thighs.
He lowers his head between your small thighs and dives in. His lips wrap around your clit and sucks on the small bud as he teases your entrance with his thick fingers. You throw your head back and close your eyes tightly, the pleasure intensifying with his mouth on you. You look down at him and he's already staring, never breaking eye contact. His piercing stare makes you wet if not wetter. Neteyam can feel his fingers getting soaked around your lips and smirks, the corner of his lips tugging upwards.
His mouth releases your clit with a wet pop as he lowers his head, his hands coming to your thighs to spread them even wider. When his large tongue enters you, your eyes roll back from the overwhelming pleasure. You back arches hard and you unintentionally push Neteyam's tongue deeper into you. Of course this doesn't go unnoticed by him as he moves it in and out of you, his flat nose rubbing against your clit with every thrust.
"Fuck â Nete, I'm close.." you whimper and grip at his braids. Neteyam hums in response as he continues to lap at your juices like a hungry animal. A loud pornographic moan leaves your mouth as the coil in your stomach snaps.
Neteyam pulls back and wipes away your slick from his chin and jaw with the back of his hand, gazing down at your now numb form.
"You sounded so pretty, sevin." your eyes roll at his comment before they drift to the ceiling. Why didn't you do that earlier? You didn't know how to touch yourself but also didn't want to make a fool of yourself.
"Thank you. Thank you for showing me... for, teaching me what pleasure feels like. I think that's the best lesson I ever got from you." you say weakly, catching your breath though there is truth behind those words. Neteyam nods at your words and comes closer to you, lying beside you and curling his big body around yours.
"Always, syulang." he presses a kiss on the top of your head before he drags a blanket over you, wrapping you in it like a baby. He hugs you tightly to his chest and closes his eyes, drifting off to sleep with you in his embrace and heart.

The days once shrouded with guilt and manipulation from your past seem to fade away the more time you spend with Soâlek and company. You acclimate as best you can to the new headquarters as you battle your insecurities every day since your rescue. All your life youâve done nothing but feel ashamed over your existence but now you have free will, unsure of what to with this newfound freedom thatâs fallen into your lap recently. Today, Tanywral has offered to teach you and the others how to properly weave traditional Naâvi garments. You stand in front of the bathroom mirror scanning your body with careful eyes. You noticed that youâve filled out since your arrival 2 weeks ago but still look weaker than the average Naâvi around here.
You sigh and adjust your poorly braided hair and head out of your room to see Riânela walking out of her own smiling to her as you both wait for the guys. âGood morning.â You greet your friend. She wraps her arm around yours out of comfort, as you hear the creak of doors turning to see Teylan and Nor walking down the hallway with Soâlek closely behind them. Your stomach does flips staring at his tall willowy figure practically strutting down the corridor so effortlessly. The way his strong thighs flex with every step, his arms swinging with confidence, and the way he has gone without his kevlar vest today. You scan his long torso, looking at his stomach riddled with scars and ripcord muscles, up to his pecs and strong jawline.
You quickly advert your gaze down to your feet awkwardly wiggling your toes as if to convince yourself you werenât just ogling at the warrior up and down. âGood, youâre up. We will head to the mess hall and meet Tanywral after.â Soâlekâs voice echos through the hallway. You feel your cheeks heat up with blush spreading to the tips of your ears before you can muster the courage to respond. âSoâlek said thereâs some sort of celebration tonightâ Teylan chirps excitedly.
You all chat amongst yourselves as Soâlek explains that the cause of this celebration tonight is due to another human base being blown sky high. You find yourself sandwiched in-between Nor and Soâlek comfortably eating your breakfast with Tanywral now present as you watch with curious eyes scanning the boisterous environment filled with humans and Naâvi together.Â
âAlright shall we?â Tanywral smiles as she nods her head excitedly watching as the group of you follow suit. You watch Soâlek as he stands unmoving, âare you not joining?â You ask curiously. âDuty callsâ He simply replies with a slight smirk on his face, as you suddenly feel the warmth from the palm of his hand gently press against the small of your back. You turn to him with a confused expression no doubt obvious on your face, as he nudges you into the direction of the group.
Before you can even process the small gesture, Riânela begins firing off a slew of questions on bead making and garment crafting to Tanywral as your brain feels static with excitement. You enter a small cozy looking room tucked away in the corner of the space illuminated by the warm glow of string lights. There are several large artisan rugs across the floor with a comfortable looking couch and pillows in the corner. You smell the dust thatâs collected in the room mixed with the fresh scent of new plants scattered in pots all around the space.Â
âTake a seat and Iâll show you how to make a loincloth.â Tanywral instructs. You see Teylan and Riânela excitedly sit eager to learn, as Nor appears unusually stoic. You say nothing and sit down on the plush rug, being handed a leathery textured material.Â
âYou are Sarentu. Your clan was renowned for their incredible diplomacy, storytelling, and bringing peace amongst the other clans. They were incredible at everything they did, valuing knowledge and spreading tales amongst Pandora traveling through the forest.â The way Tanywral spoke so highly of your clan, made your heart clench with sadness. You were just a young child when the group of you were abducted from your home and your family was murdered by John Mercer and his colleagues.
âWe will help you remember who you are, and it starts by dressing Naâvi.â Tanywral smiles holding out several beaded arm bands. âHere, for each of you.â She smiles warmly as you all reach for the beads. You hold yours more closely, examining the small river rocks woven intricately into twine. âItâs beautiful thank you.â Riânela graciously replies.Â
You spend the rest of the afternoon learning how to properly weave together a basic necklace and loincloth made out of the materials found in the forest like crushed Arâlek seeds with their red hue that create a colorful paste to mix with water for colored material. Or the many variations from flora and fauna that provide stylish accessories like the yomioang chalice plant.
Several hours go by as you look down to your poorly crafted necklaces and loincloths made from some of the vines of the jungle and feathers Tanywral helped string into your hair. You also learned how to correctly care for and braid, along with the promise of foraging for some items to make more clothing. Â
A loud cough erupts, when your head whips to the source. A stern looking Soâlek peers in the doorway causing you to blink several times. âHow are things?â He booms. You all watch as he approaches and squats down close by, inspecting your work. âHm.â He grunts out. âThey learn fast.â Tanywral says fondly. âCome, I will take you to learn something more useful; weapons training.â He says with a playful tone in his voice. You hear Tanywral scoff and roll her eyes. âThey are not ready for that yet.â But Soâlek shakes his head. âThey can walk? They can fight. We do not have the luxury of time.â He states curtly.
Thereâs an awkward tension hanging in the air as they go back and forth, with a final sigh from her, âFine. If you must.â She waves her hand at him. âKĂŹyevameâ She smiles at you all. âWhat does that mean? Nor inquires âSee you soon.â She winks playfully. You understood basic Naâvi thanks to Alma teaching you in secret, but only at a conversational level. âDonât worry you have plenty of time to learn the catch phrases and sayingsâ Soâlek rolls his eyes.Â
You exchange a look with Riânela, and stand up to follow Soâlek together with Teylan and Nor grabbing your things. âW-what kind of weapons training are we learning?â Teylan asks nervously walking beside Soâlek trying to keep the same pace. He laughs, and turns to you. âYouâre not. The celebration is starting soon and I thought you all could use some real form of entertainment.â He smirks at youÂ
You blink at him in confusion, âSo you lied?â Nor accuses. âYou deserve a night of fun. Go get changed and meet me in the main corridor.â Soâlek begins walking away before any of you can respond just standing in the hallway hands full of your new crafted garments staring wide eyed. âWhatâs with that guy?â You whisper to yourself.Â
You chuckle, and enter your room staring at your new clothes laid out on the bed. You know how to string a loincloth onto your body thanks to Tanywral explaining and demonstrating what it would look like, but youâve never done this before. You remember a time when Mercer yelled at you just for putting several beads in your hair as a child. You slowly get out of your basic shirt and sweatpants and fold them gently, reaching for the newly crafted green leather loincloth out of dried Clouded Lily leaves.Â
You try your best to string the newly woven beads around your chest as Tanywral demonstrated, still not used to the idea of showing so much skin. You wrap your bracelets and armbands around your wrists and arms, gently adjusting everything as you stare at this stranger looking back at you in the mirror by your bedside table. Your eyes scan your body, littered with your ugly puckered scars showing far too much of your azure color than youâre comfortable with. But this, this is the way. The Naâvi reject vanity and are open and carefree. Itâs your culture to embrace your body as a gift instead of a tool. Itâs time you start embracing this side of yourself now.
With a deep conflicted sigh you step out into the hallway and knock on Riânelaâs door. A soft creak and it opens slowly, you see her wearing her own newly crafted outfit. âWow.â You both admire each otherâs work. âI feel a breezeâ You chuckle awkwardly waving your hand to your barely covered nipples and butt cheeks hanging out. âIt is the way yeah? Might as well dress as Sarentu.â She smiles playfully. You see Teylan and Nor emerge getting ready to walk to the mess hall as a group looking at Norâs handcrafted chest plate and intricately made headpiece.Â
Teylan on the other hand opted for a ratty tank top and tool belt he most definitely found in the lost and found bin you saw in the living room earlier. âShall we?â You smile at Nor. You notice a newfound confidence in your steps, almost as if your body subconscious knows. You find yourself in a lively living room where some of the humans have gathered around and other Naâvi. This part of the wing is warm, cozy; decorated with string lights, colorful handmade beads hanging off the ceiling, plants, artisan rugs and more. You see a large table with various foods and drinks sitting there like a feast. Youâve never seen anything like it.Â
You approach a small group and smile awkwardly, as Soâlek stands before you scanning your body up and down. A rush of heat spreads to your cheeks, biting the inside of your lip feeling more exposed than ever. You knew this was a mistake, what were you thinking? âYou look much betterâ Soâlek softly declares.
Your eyes widen in disbelief, blinking several times for good measure. âUm.. thanks.â You cough out. You hear Nor snicker and cover his mouth to prevent another snort from coming out, as you look around praying someone swoops in. âCome. Tonight we celebrate another victorious ambush. We have plenty of food and refreshments.â A handsome Naâvi approaches and claps Soâlek on the back. âIâm Eetu, arenât you a sight for sore eyes?â He sends a harmless wink your way, just as Soâlek scoffs loudly and rolls his eyes.
âMust you be here?â He grumbles. You stare at the handsome man, a little bit younger than Soâlek, but a few years older than you. Beautiful vibrant eyes, a slew of scars are scattered across his lips, forehead and cheeks. You hear Riânela giggle watching her cheeks flush with a magenta hue. âAre you from Soâlekâs clan too?â She curiously inquires.Â
Nor and Teylan watch with puzzling stares, and Eetu smiles wide âNo. I am from the Aranahe clan. I have an allegiance to this wondrous resistance here. You⊠why you bear the sigil of the Sarentu?â He points to the mark under your eyes. âYes. We are Sarentu..â Nor puffs out his chest. You almost choke out a laugh, but stifle it as best you can watching this pissing match between the male Naâvi. âThey are here to learn the ways of Navi. This is their new home.â Soâlek steps in and stands in between you and Eetu.
âOh of course of course..â Eetu raises his hands in the air and winks again but this time at Riânela. The gall of this man⊠you think to yourself. âIf youâre done, we can celebrate.â Soâlek jabs at Eetu, the irritation clearly visible on his face. âOh yes you must try fermented Yovo fruit juice! Itâs the best.â He grabs Riânela by the hand and waves you all over to the table. Just as youâre stepping to follow Soâlek grabs your hand gently. You gasp in surprise, turning to face him. âStay away from that one. He is nothing but trouble, heâs only interested in fooling around.â He speaks in a low tone, his voice sounds different and gravelly.Â
âFooling around?â You ask in a confused state of shock. Did he mean..? âSurely you know what that is?â He raises a skeptical brow at you. You swallow hard and try to act as coy as possible. âYou refer to the pleasures of the flesh..?â You slowly piece together what heâs implying.
He only shakes his head and laughs, âYes⊠You could say that. Come.â He brings his hand to the small of your back gingerly pushing you forward to where the others now hold wooden bowls filled with this mysterious liquid. âKirani! Youâve got to try this itâs so good!â Teylan laughs. Itâs clear everyone is loosening up and enjoying themselves, so you take a wooden bowl and scoop it into a larger one as the beautiful purple liquid sloshes into the bowl. You watch Soâlek joining you grabbing his own and softly clinking his to yours. âDrink it slowly. Itâs meant to be savored. It is strong.â He smiles.Â
You raise the bowl to your lips and take a tentative sip, the tangy sweet flavor immediately bursts onto your tongue causing it to warm your throat on the way down. âWhoah..â You gasp and smile at Riânela who enjoys her own. âCome and sit guys!â Priya suddenly pipes in. You smile and sit down on a layer of plush mats and pillows as the group forms into a circle.Â
You carefully watch as Soâlek sits across from you, attentive eyes locking in on your movements causes your tail to lash madly behind you. âI am soooo happy right now.â Teylan squishes himself next to you. âTeylan how much of that have you drank?â You giggle. âUmmm Iâm not sure I think this is my third bowl.â You nudge his shoulder playfully and shake your head, âYou know that has alcohol in it right? Itâs fermented.â Your brows furrow.Â
âOH? Oops. No wonder itâs so good.â He slurps on more juice and you all laugh together enjoying the nightâs provisions which include some smoked hexapede meat and roasted vegetables. The seasoning practically bursts with spices onto your taste buds, nothing like youâve ever tasted before at TAP. You relish in several helpings, as the Yovo juice takes its effects. Feeling a languid warmth cascade over your body, you lean into Teylan a bit more listening to Eetu tell stories of his clan.
âYou know what we should play though?â He wiggles his brows suggestively, âSpin the bottle!â He smiles mischievously with his canines gleaming in the dim warm light, watching Soâlek almost sneer in his direction. âSpin the bottle?â Riânela squeaks curiously. Eetu chuckles, âItâs a game! You take a bottle and spin it around in the circle and whoever it lands on, the person who spun it, has to kiss them.â He smirks.
Nor looks at Eetu with both intrigue and slight disgust, âthatâs what you call a game?â But it doesnât seem to even remotely phase this strange Naâvi, he just rises to the table and grabs whatever glassware he can find and sits back down. âYup!â The group began to dissipate over the last few hours only leaving you, Riânela, Teylan, Nor, Soâlek and Eetu. You squirm amongst yourself feeling the outcome of the alcohol envelope you in a cozy blanket of drunken serenity.
Much to your surprise Soâlek makes no effort to get up and leave, in fact, his eyes meet yours briefly and then quickly advert back to the commotion. âOkay who spins first?â Eetu wiggles the bottle in the air. âWell itâs your game, just do it.â Nor rebukes sarcastically. You all laugh and watch as Eetu smugly spins this glass bottle in the middle of the small group as it twirls around, slowing down and stopping on Teylan. Your eyes widen in amusement watching Eetuâs reaction as well. âWell well well. Shall we pucker up?â Eetu laughs out. Teylan is much drunker than the rest of you, and clumsily leans forward closing his eyes and puckering his lips out dramatically, just as Eetu leans in for a comedic peck on the lips.
You burst out into fits of laughter, watching as Teylan and Eetu stumble awkwardly kissing in a quick kiss, to the point where your belly hurts. Teylan finds it almost as entertaining as Eetu with a shade of blush forming on his cheeks. âWow Teylan who knew you had that much game!â You hunch over laughing with Riânela next to you. âFine, then you spin next.â Teylan grabs the bottle and shoves it into your hand in a feeble attempt to conceal his embarrassment. You just shake your head and smile âFine fine.âÂ
You bring the bottle to a fast spin, watching it move intently, as it slows down once more. When it finally stops, you look up to the direction it points in; right at Soâlek. Oh no.You feel a slight panic looking up to watch his reaction, but he remains as stoic as ever. âThis is ridiculous, I will see you for weapons training tomorrow.â He excuses himself and promptly leaves the circle causing a deep pang of rejection to flutter in your stomach.
The fluttering is immediately followed with the sinking feeling of stones, watching him walk away so coldly from you. Youâre left so stunned, as Eetu interjects. âOh no way he would pass up an opportunity to kiss a woman as beautiful as you! Heâs nothing but a grumpy old man!â He grabs your shoulder to look to you, as you fake a smile and shake it off. âUgh right? I couldnât even imagine kissing him, it would be like kissing a cold dead fish.â The group laughs at your joke too drunk to see the hurt in your eyes, sitting down as you swallow your pride for the evening.
You slump on the pillows and begin to run through a list of scenarios as to why Soâlek was so disgusted by the idea of some harmless kiss. You take another few sips of your drink, the liquid sliding down your throat with ease. You shake your head and rise off the mats, âI think Iâm going to lay down for the night guys.â You speak with heavy voice.
âOh already? But we are having so much fun?â Teylan whines out. âYes but I am tired.â You smile sheepishly and ignore his response setting down the bowl to the table and walk down into the dim lit corridor hallways. You wobble a bit after sitting for such a long period of time, stumbling your way to your room looking forward to when your head hits the pillow. With the small creak of the door you enter your space to find Soâlek once again sitting on your bed. âOh shit! Soâlek?â You screech out.
You stare at him quizzically trying to figure out why heâd be here out of all places after his rejection earlier. âWhat are you doing here?â You ask awkwardly sitting down next to him. A few moments pass, and he sighs. âWhy do you hate me?â You whisper softly. This causes him to turn his head to you, as his eyes meet yours, almost like studying your features close up. âI do not hate you. Why would you think that?â You scoff at his question.
âAre you kidding me? Ever since I arrived youâve done nothing but give me cold stares and grunts for answers, and then during spin the bottle you refused to kiss me!? I mean you looked at me as if I carried some disease!â You try your best to remain calm but your voice cracks under its harsh whisper, causing Soâlek to wince.Â
âI do not hate youâŠâ He leans closer to you. âI think you are a handful, but I do not hate you.â He smirks. Your ears twitch uncontrollably in response. âWhat? Soâlek I donât understand..â You stutter. He leans in even closer as your noses almost touch. âYou have awoken something in me, an emotion that I thought left behind a long time ago. At first I thought to just ignore you and fight it off, thinking itâd go away⊠But as time went on, it has only consumed me more.â His voice begins to sound strained as if holding back, but you canât pin what.
âWhat feeling? What emotion?â You demand. After a moment of silence he sighs once more. âDesire.â You feel his tail curl up to your thigh, brushing the skin softly causing a slight moan to escape your lips. âDesire?â You whisper bringing your face closer to his. He chuckles and brings a hand to cup your jaw pulling you in. âYes.. desire.. I couldnât kiss you earlier because if I did⊠Iâd never want to stopâŠâ You feel his breath fan against your lips deliciously taunting you as your heart slams into your ribcage thumping faster and faster.
âWell I certainly wonât stop youâŠâ He smiles and takes this his opportunity leaning as your lips finally touch. You experimentally kiss him a little awkward at first but he allows you to take the lead letting you feel whatâs right. Once you find a rhythm, you feel him prod his tongue at the entrance of your mouth happily letting him in, moaning in unison.
The clear yearning and desperation is evident in both of you. Soâlek having been isolated all these years, and you in a deep sleep finding your way to each other would seem almost poetic in a moment like this, as you both grab each otherâs bodies everywhere you can. You lay down on the bed hungrily kissing ready to completely devour each other alive, when he grips your thighs desperately. âUhm-Wait wait..â He pants out as your lips form a string of spit connecting to each other from their sloppy kissing.
âWhat?â You whine out in a complete daze. âThis. Us. We must.. go slow. I will not dishonor you.â You strains out. âDishonor?â You laugh. Is this man really thinking about honor with a hard on pressed up against your body? âIf you wish to stopâŠâ âTrust me I donât want to, but we canât get ahead of ourselves. I..like you.. Kirani. More than Iâm willing to admit..You have found a way to break down my hard exteriors⊠I thank you..â He grabs your hand and places it to his hard chest feeling the scars scattered across his azure skin.
âYou donât have to thank me⊠Iâm the one who should be thanking you.. You saved my life..â You lean in for another kiss letting it linger for a bit hearing him whimper into your mouth. âYou deserve freedom. And to learn the ways of the Naâvi.â He smiles with lust hooded eyes fighting his fleeting composure. âI think a part of myself has been saved by you.. Kirani..â He places his hand on top of yours that rests on his chest, feeling his heart beat fast. âI made you something.â With his free hand he reaches into a pocket strung on his loincloth and holds up a small string with a single bead. âIt is your very own songcord. I picked this rock nearby the Kinglor Forest the evening of your rescue. Tanywral made sure to craft the others, one as well. But I made this one for you..â He says with a deep blush creeping on his cheeks. You just stare at the small bead in awe, with tears forming in your eyes. âI canât believe it⊠Thank you. I never had one before. Just a small amber bead I think my mother gave to me when I was little beforeâŠâ
Your voice trails off sadly, with Soâlek rubbing your arm softly in comfort. âWhere is the rock?â He asks. You reach over to your nightstand and hold out the amber stone in your hand as he takes it and strings into onto the songcord. âThere. Each piece represents a significant life event, all Naâvi have one Sarentu..â He smiles sweetly. âItâs perfect.. thank you..â The tears now fall down your cheeks sniffling lightly. âDo not cry little one.â He coos.
âItâs okay just happy tears. I have never been treated with so much tenderness beforeâŠâ He frowns slightly and takes the songcord to string it to the band of your loincloth. âThere. Like a true Navi..â He smiles proudly. Your soft gaze suddenly hardens, straightening out your back and taking his hand in yours. âI want you to teach me everything you know about weapons. Teach me to become a warrior like you⊠I want to destroy the RDAâŠâ You stare into his eyes. A small grin forms on his face, as he nods his head. âAs you wish.âÂ

Part 20 - New Life
From her spot around the crackling fire, XilĂ€ felt as if she were being watched. She didnât need to look up to know who it was though.Â
Since their arrival at Awaâatlu, sheâd gotten her fair share of stares and peaks and glances. Sheâd expected it really.Â
Physically wise, XilĂ€ was no Omaticaya, so she didnât blame the Metkayina people for their curiosity. She herself was curious about them. Â
So when the other clans had arrived- all in their varying physicality's, she wasnât the only one of interest and it was nice if she were being honest. Â
But Aonung however, well his stares were different. She didnât think they had anything to do with her features, not really. It didnât feel rude or inappropriate either. More⊠intrigued, perhaps? Confused?Â
He always watched her as if he had a question right at the tip of his tongue, but he never asked. Instead heâd always pursue his lips and look away.Â
Tonight, a large group of them- all mostly within the same age bracket, had escaped to a nearby little island, which was nothing more than a sandy beach with very little vegetation.Â
Away from the rest of their families, they built an impressive bonfire and made themselves comfortable on woven mats whilst pouches and cups of strongly brewed spirits and fermented wine were shared around.
Xi politely declined any offers of the alcoholic beverages and was thankful that no one questioned her about it.Â
Their large group was scattered along the shoreline, creating clusters of conversations and activities and attraction was heavy in the air.Â
For those single- the women whispered and giggled amongst their groups, eyes darting over to whichever male had caught their attention.Â
As for the men- well, their own peeks and glances werenât as hidden either, not even the ones being silly and dumb by daring each other to do stupid things by the waterâs edge.Â
There were even couples- some mated like her and Neteyam who cuddled and spoke quietly as if they were in their own world, gazes locked and glistening with love.Â
The vibe and atmosphere all reminded XilĂ€ of the night sheâd completed her rites. They were all so young and full of life. And the rare freedom to let go and be themselves- away from elders or younglings, it was refreshing.Â
Unable to bear the feeling any longer, XilĂ€ finally turned away from her mate and met Aonungâs intense stare.Â
He was quite a sight to see- he always was really. Aonung had not one, but two gorgeous females under his arms. A flirty, bubbly thing- the daughter of an Anuri warrior who seemed to be animatedly talking his ear off.Â
And the other- a sultry, vixen of a Metkayina woman whose lips appeared to be permanently attached to his skin- her mouth lavishing and sucking at his neck with gusto. The woman whispered something to him- something that made his lips quirk devilishly.Â
âIâm beginning to think your friend has a staring problem,â XilĂ€ murmured to her mate.Â
âHeâs asking for it now,â Neteyam replied through gritted teeth. âI wonât warn him a second time.â
She probably shouldnât have said anything. âIgnore him. Heâs probably doing it on purpose, trying to test your patience.â
âSure.âÂ
XilĂ€ tittered when he wrapped a possessive arm around her and allowed herself to be shifted out of view- face pushed into a hard chiselled chest. She didnât need to glance up to know her mate was probably boring holes into Aonungâs head.Â
Their bickering hot and cold, frenemy relationship never failed to amuse her. They were adults- men, but yet they behaved like boys around each other.
The Metkayina male gave him a knowing smirk before returning to the conversation with the group surrounding him- his voice so important that all eyes fell on him to hear what he was saying.Â
Loâakâs laugh pulled Neteyamâs attention away- and XilĂ€âs.Â
âTheyâre adorable, arenât they?â she whispered, peeking out to observe the couple seated nearby. âHeâs completely smitten.âÂ
Neteyam watched Loâak and Tsireya. His head was in her lap and their fingers were interlocked- they looked every bit in love.Â
Heâd never seen his brother so open with affection. Not with anyone really. Loâak was a heartbreaker- unknowingly to himself. Kiri didnât joke about his fan club for no reason. His brother had charm and the moves to have any woman at his feet- something Neteyam had once upon a time been jealous of.Â
But this? This open display of âthis is my womanâ- Neteyam had never seen this from him.Â
âOh yeah... Heâs a goner. Sheâs good for him.âÂ
When the drums and bone flutes began with a deafening roar, XilĂ€ was quick to find Kiri- both girls pulling a hesitant Tsireya along to dance amongst a growing crowd.Â
And while she was busy, Neteyam enjoyed conversing with a spontaneously formed group of men he and Loâak had befriended during their stay. There were Kâayno and Astlu- cousins from the Tipiani clan, Yeâk- a warrior from Ta'unui and Cxian the son and next in line Olo'eyktan of the Sarentu clan.Â
Neteyam of course couldnât help himself and still kept careful watch on XilĂ€, lips quirking upwards every time his eyes landed on her. She was enchanting as she moved- standing out from everyone else.Â
She and Tsireya eventually made their way to him and Loâak- XilĂ€ begging him to dance with her- eyes dangerous and weaponized to make him weak, however could he say no?Â
They danced for what felt like hours- yipping and twirling on fast feet. Rhythmic music beats speeding up, Xiâs hips moved wildly in time with the drums. Neteyam followed, eyes heated and intense on the woman before him, hands greedy and unable to not touch her skin while he stole and planted kisses wherever he could.Â
It was electrifying.Â
There was no one else but her and him.
As the night wore on, almost everyone was on their feet, bodies moving carefree and minds loose as they gave in to the spirit of the music.Â
Eventually needing a break, Neteyam left XilĂ€ in the trusted hands of his brother, sister, and now soon to be sister-in-law. Xi loved dancing, she was not stopping any time soon, he knew.Â
Returning from relieving himself in a secluded patch of shrubbery, he saw a lone figure near the waterâs edge.Â
âNot in a dancing mood, I see,â he teased, startling his friend who had been tossing pieces of his meal into the calm ocean, a sort of game with a few clustered ilu.
âNot really, no. Although I must say it was quite shocking to see you of all people out there with the rest of them. Last I remember from your previous visit, you turned down almost every teenage girl whoâd dared muster the courage to ask you to dance.âÂ
Neteyam snorted. âYeah well what can I say, Aonung? Those girls werenât my wife.âÂ
Aonung's flickered to his, and the same curious expression heâd been staring at XilĂ€ with was now directed at him. He stared as if wondering who the man in front of him was- as if seeing him for the first time.
âAlright, enough. Spit it out. Whatâs the matter? If I didnât know you, with all the looks and staring youâve been giving my mate lately, Iâd think you were interested in her- but I do know you so I know youâre not stupid enough for it to be that. Whatâs going on Aonung?âÂ
Aonungâs gaze fell. Jaw clenched in irritation, he pretended to be far more interested in the rolling sea.Â
Before Neteyam could speak again, they were interrupted.Â
âAonuuung, come dance with me,â a Metkayina woman crooned through slurred speech. She plastered herself to him, most likely unaware that Neteyam was standing right there since her fingers tried to creep into Aonungâs loincloth. âOr do you want to sneak any instead? Iâll do that thing with my tongue like last time and maybe we could-â
âZersâi,â Aonung chided, although there was no real bite to it. âGo find someone else to warm your bed tonight. Iâm sorry, but Iâm not very good company right now.â
âOhâŠâ She pouted dramatically- huffing in disappointment when he pulled her hand away from groping him. âWell maybe next time then, yeah?â
âNext time,â he promised.Â
Neteyam coughed and looked away when the woman promptly kissed him- practically sticking her tongue down his throat in goodbye before finally stumbling back to the dancing crowd.Â
âBrother, donât even.âÂ
But Neteyam couldnât keep a straight face.Â
Aonung scowled and flopped to the ground with a sigh when he heard his friendâs stifled titters turn into a full bellied laugh.Â
âRight⊠no, because while Iâm thoroughly traumatized, that- that was entirely too entertaining.â
âHowâd you and XilĂ€ happen?âÂ
âWhat?â Neteyam sobered up quickly at the sudden question.Â
Aonung blew out a breath and hung his head, elbows digging into his propped thighs. âI need a mate. Soon.â
Understanding dawned upon Neteyam. He glanced over to the crowd in the distance and once he spotted XilĂ€ who was squashed between Kiri, Tsireya and a few other familiar females, he slumped down onto the sand beside his friend.Â
âA mate⊠Youâve been given a deadline Iâm assuming?âÂ
âA year. One fucking year,â Aonung rasped.Â
âShit.â And Neteyam thought his six years were ridiculous.Â
âI donât know how you do it. I donât think Iâm cut out for all this. How do you deal with the pressure? We have to take over from our fathers, follow in their great and mighty footsteps- lead an entire clan of people who hold us with the highest of expectations. They expect us to find a woman and make sure we produce the future generation, they expect us to be the best examples and not step an inch out of line because when we mess up itâs-â
âOur responsibility and we should have known better⊠yeah.â Neteyam rubbed the back of his neck. He knew exactly where Aonung was coming from- from each and every side. âBelieve me I get it- all of it.â
They sat quietly for a few long minutes- the drums and yips and hoots being the only thing they heard until Aonung broke the silence between them.Â
âYour XilĂ€ is great- amazing. Iâm halfway not joking when I say sometimes that Iâd steal her from you⊠but she baffles the shit out of me.â
âIt what way?â
Aonung shrugged. âSheâs as in love with you as youâre in love with her. Right?â
Well now Neteyam was straight up confused. âIâd say so, yeah.â
âAnd itâs not all an act?â
âFuck no. What are you trying to get at?â
âThe last time you were here, you said youâd probably never take a mate. You said- what was it again? Oh right, that you hated the pressure of being âthe chiefâs kid and wish you had the guts to do things your way.â Did I remember all of that right?â
âImpeccable memory there, brother. You should also note that I was sixteen and an idiot.âÂ
âSkxawng relax,â Aonung chuckled, amused by Neteyamâs sudden defensiveness. âIâm glad you found happiness, truly. Iâm simply looking for it myself. You saw a couple of the others-â he jerked his chin towards a certain group of men- men like them who either followed in their fatherâs footsteps, or âmarriedâ into it. âNot everyone like us gets lucky like you.âÂ
Neteyam absorbed his words. He knew arranged matings were the norm for most clans. Some pairings eventually found love, while others tolerated the match. Neteyam knew he was blessed, this trip had solidified it as much.Â
Of the many Naâvi whoâd shown up to Awaâatlu, he and Aonung had met some of the unlucky ones- the ones whoâd taken another out of duty and expectation. It wasnât that they were out right miserable, but it was clear as day⊠They werenât really happy.Â
âI guess I should be grateful that my parents are allowing me to find my own mate and havenât just thrown someone at me⊠Kâayno over thereâ- he pointed to the Tipani man- âhis mate was picked out for him before he could even talk. Theyâve been together for eight years already. Theyâve got a kid and another on the way⊠does it seem like thereâs an ounce of affection in that relationship to you?â
âEight years? Heâs only two years older than me..â
âYeah. And I donât want that. Couldnât do it.â Â
Neteyam distractedly nodded in agreement, mind whirling away.Â
âHowâd you choose her though? Xi? How did you decide to spend an eternity with that one woman?âÂ
âEywa.â
âEywa? Thatâs a given, âTeyam. Iâm being serious here.â
âAnd so am I. Look, just like you I got a deadline, not only that but a blood-oathed yes from me, sealed the deal- I had no choice. At first I did try to make a connection. Nothing felt right. I fooled around with a couple women- though, not as openly as you, my friend,â he said, making them both chuckle. It eased the tension somewhat. âBut it wasnât until XilĂ€ who practically landed in my arms, did I know. Eywaâs to thank for that.âÂ
After another quick glance to his woman, he continued. âSheâs impossible not to love. It was fast. I didnât even court her. I claimed her as mine without going through all the traditional bullshit, and pissed off our mothers and half the clan while at it⊠and I have no regrets. Iâd do it all the same way in a heartbeat.âÂ
Aonungâs brows rose high at the admission of pissing off their mothers and made a playful jab that made the conversation veer off topic for a couple minutes.Â
âMan, your story was sweet and all, but that tells me nothing. Howâd you know it was Xi?âÂ
He considered the question. âI cared.âÂ
âYou⊠cared? Thatâs it? It was that easy?âÂ
âShe was the first thing on my mind when I woke up and the last before I slept. It might sound trivial, but I cared about whether sheâd eaten dinner or what her plans were for the rest of the day. I wanted to know everything about her. What her favourite food was, what her past was like, what she wanted for her future. I wanted to know what her fears were and what I could do to make them all go away. I hated sharing her- wanted her all to myself all the fucking time. And⊠and Iâd never felt an ounce of any of that with anyone. Ever.âÂ
Aonung had an indescribable look on his face as Neteyam spoke. He shook his head, brows furrowed in hopelessness. âI donât even know where to begin looking for someone like that. Not that I even tried looking yet, that is.â
âSo donât.â Neteyam shrugged, âThis might be shit advice, so take it at your own risk⊠but maybe you shouldnât look. I had about given up until XilĂ€ came along. Maybe it can work for you too. Eywa will hear your heart.âÂ
Aonung reluctantly nodded. âThanks,â he said in a tight voice, and Neteyam knew his thanks weighed heavily- that it meant more.Â
âOh and by the way, if you tell anyone about this little conversation, Iâll deny it and kick your ass. Iâm not giving up hope for round two with you and beating you this time around.âÂ
âIâd like to see you try.â Neteyam shoved him with a grin of his own.Â
His friend's chin jerked forward to where XilĂ€ stood a couple feet away, seeming unsure if she should interrupt.Â
âI think your pretty mate misses you,â he pointed out, taking in the way her cheeks were flushed and hair was wild and askew from her dancing. There was no doubt she was gorgeous and although he was wholeheartedly happy for Neteyam, he still felt that subtle pang of jealousy.Â
âIâll see you bro,â Neteyam said, eyes drawn to his waiting wife. They both got to their feet and slapped arms in parting.Â
Aonung watched Neteyam greet his mate, head ducking low to claim her lips, one palm cupping her cheek, the other pulling her close while XilĂ€ tucked her fingers into his belt.Â
âHi baby,â he heard Neteyam murmur, âyou ready to go?âÂ
XilĂ€ whispered something that Aonung couldnât make out, but it made Neteyam laugh and kiss her again, deeper as if he hadnât seen her for ages.Â
And when they broke apart- voices hushed and eyes intensely locked, Aonung didnât miss the way his friendâs palm spread across the span of XilĂ€âs stomach⊠or the way they both looked down to where it rested, smiles matching in the moonlight.
~
The old device gave a loud whirring noise that made all three of them cringe and wince in discomfort. XilĂ€ in particular slapped her palms to her ears to try and muffle the sound, while Neteyam himself clenched his teeth together- ears flat to his head.Â
âSorry! Sorry! Lemme just- oh donât do this to me now.â Normâs fingers moved furiously across the keyknobs and the instant the high pitched sound ended, he released a joyful WHOOP and raised his fist in the air. âIt works! I am a fucking genius.âÂ
Neteyam chuckled and peered over the older manâs shoulder at the large, clear monitor screen. The glass had a slight crack on the top left corner, but then again the thing was most likely ancient after all.Â
Xil watched too, fascinated by the numbers, letters and moving lines that flooded the âpageâ Norm had brought up.
âAlright then genius, lets see you get it up and running now.âÂ
They left him to it, and it took him another half hour filled with curses and threats at the poor device, but with a final few strokes of the keyboard, Norm was looking back at Stephan and Max- their background being the familiar scenery of the labs back at Home Camp.Â
Between him and Stephan, they made a few more tweaks, and then- finally then, XilÀ was staring back at her parents who were also awed by the technology like her.
âXilĂ€! Oh magnificent Eywa- Jxo, look, look itâs our XilĂ€!â Salveen was yelling at the top of her lungs. âDarling, can you see us too?! Can you hear me?!â the elder screeched while her face pressed up into the glass.
Norm, XilĂ€ and Neteyam smothered their amusement while watching a very patient Max explain to her parents how the communication worked and that they could speak normally.Â
âWeâll give you some time to catch up, but Iâll be back, okay?â Neteyam murmured before he and Norm quickly made their way out of the designated mauri used for communications- a makeshift lab of some sort.Â
âHi,â XilĂ€ breathed, smiling wide at the sight of them after so long, fingertips gently pressed to the glass.Â
âOh I miss you, my sweet girl. Darling youâre glowing, you look so beautiful, doesnât she, Jxo?âÂ
Jxo grunted in agreement. âWhen are you coming back?â was the first thing he said.Â
XilĂ€âs smile faulted a little, she was going to have to tell them. âI miss you too. So much. Have you been taking care of yourselves?âÂ
âBah, weâre fine. Just fine. Oh I have so much to tell you though. Youâll never guess who broke off their betrothal!âÂ
On and on Sal went, filling XilĂ€ in on all the latest gossip of the Camp. XilĂ€ awed and gasped and laughed throughout it all- giggling, especially when Sal would throw out a âright, Jxo?â to which the man would simply nod or grunt in agreement.Â
XilĂ€ loved them both so much. Right now all she longed for was to hug them, to physically see them in person. She missed them a ridiculous amount.Â
She perked up when she heard a familiar shriek in the background.Â
Dâavi and YalnĂŻk appeared with their two babbling children. âXilĂ€!âÂ
âDâaviii!â
Lâeya was plonked onto her grandfatherâs lap and then an overly excited Dâavi invaded most of the space on the screen and started blubbering away- much like her mother had done before.Â
There were many âI miss yousâ and âlook how shiny and long your hair has gotten!â and âwhen are you coming home?âÂ
Both sisters were momentarily in their own little world and Xi was saved from answering her sisterâs last question when Lâeo shrieked- the baby clearly needing some attention.Â
YalnĂŻk and Dâavi proudly filled her in on the twins' newest milestones. Lâeo was even more a talker now, and XilĂ€ had just about burst into tears when YalnĂŻk pointed to her and asked his son to say hi to his aunty XilĂ€- to which Lâeo strung together a jumbled mess of words that sounded exactly like it.Â
Lâeya had finally taken her first steps and was now cautiously toddling around after her brother whoâd Xi had had the joy witnessing his own first steps before sheâd left.Â
Jxo had gotten up to give XilĂ€ a little demonstration by placing the baby down on shaky legs. She was still wobbly and didnât want to let go of her grandfatherâs fingers, but she managed to make a couple solid steps before falling on her bum. Lâeyaâs bottom lip wobbled in preparation to cry but still distractedly clapped her hands along with everyone else when theyâd cheered her.Â
XilĂ€ had tears running down her cheeks by now. âAh my babies, I miss you two so much,â she sobbed whilst smiling back at the toothy little grins of her chatty excited niece and nephew who blew her sloppy kisses.Â
âDo you want me to come get you?â Jxo suddenly asked- voice gruff and no nonsense as ever. He kept staring at her as if trying to figure something out. âWhatâs that damn boy doing to you? You keep crying, darling. I donât like it.âÂ
âJxo!â Sal chided but her mate paid her no mind.Â
He simply handed her Lâeya and came closer to the screen, frown deepening. âWhereâs he at, XilĂ€? I want to talk to him.âÂ
XilĂ€ couldnât help laughing while she frantically tried to remove the evidence from her under her eyes and cheeks. âIâm fine, father. I am. Neteyam is as wonderful as ever to me. I just really miss you all. Finally talking and seeing you,â she sniffled, âjust makes me really happy.âÂ
Her father seemed to buy it after a couple more of her assurances.Â
Her family asked about life at Awaâatlu- YalnĂŻk in particular was highly interested in the fishing techniques and gear- which XilĂ€ suggested he ask her husband instead- sheâd not really paid any attention to the job.Â
Dâavi told her that Leati and Zeâlu had finally started courting- much to Feâskaâs displeasure and apparently there was a very public argument between the mother and daughter that was all the clan could talk about for days.Â
They spent another half hour of bonding before Neteyam returned and quietly asked if she was ready for him to interrupt. Crouched beside her with a warm palm to her thigh, he greeted her family and caught up with them- marvelling over how much the twins had grown in the few months theyâd been gone.Â
And when the Sully family started trickling in- Spider included of course and when Moâat appeared on the screen as well- it was like one big happy reunion.Â
Moâat had eyes for only her at first, ignoring everyone else in favour of asking about her health. The TsahĂŹk was not usually the fretting type, but with all the questions and attention, XilĂ€ had a feeling that the grandmother knew.
Afterwards Loâak introduced them to his lovely future mate who shifted nervously under Moâatâs assessing gaze. Dâavi saved the awkward encounter by complementing Tsireyaâs hair, and from there, the two became quite chatty.Â
Finding the right moment, Neteyam stood, cleared his throat, calling for everyoneâs attention. He squeezed the back of his mateâs neck in comfort when she leaned her head against his leg.Â
âSo, Iâll admit, I had a bit of an ulterior motive for making all this happen. We- XilĂ€ and I have some news weâd like to share.âÂ
A soft gasp was heard through the computer- Dâavi.
âOh I knew-mpf!âÂ
YalnĂŻk covered his mate's mouth like heâd probably had to do a thousand times, and shot Neteyam a sheepish smile and nod to continue.Â
âRight, um, baby?â He offered her his hands and helped her stand.
XilĂ€ was nervous, but with an uncontrollable excited grin, she pushed down the bunchy material of her long slitted skirt which sat high up on her waist and revealed the little bump sheâd been hiding for the last couple of weeks.Â
âSurprise! Iâm pregnant!âÂ
The noise that erupted was deafening- cheers and screams and cries of happiness which was mildly overwhelming.Â
Neytiri was the first to wrap her up in a hug, pulling back to cup XilĂ€âs cheeks with a blinding smile before she was leaning over to do the same to her son.Â
Sal was just about squeezing the life out of poor Jxo as she squealed and jabbered on and on.Â
âI knew it!â Dâavi was telling Kiri whilst taking a whining Lâeo into her arms, and blindly pulling at her top so her baby could feed. âSheâs got the glow- and the tears.âÂ
âShit, youâre right, the tears! I knew something was up,â Spider laughed, âno regular sane person cries over fruit- Ow! Kiri!âÂ
Kiri rolled her eyes at him, then made her move to congratulate her brother and sister-in-law.
âXiXii!â Loâak shouted from across the room. âIâm really going to be an uncle? You- youâre not pranking, right? Because this is the best day everrrr! Babe, hold me,â he fake sobbed dramatically, throwing himself at Tsireya.Â
A frowning Tuktirey had made her way to her eldest brother and patted his leg to get his attention. Heâd been wrapped up in a hug by his father who was teasing him about his upcoming journey of fatherhood.Â
âHey there, baby sis.â He lifted her up with a dramatic groan and planted a kiss on her cheek.Â
Tuk poked his nose and then frowned at XilĂ€ who was chatting away with Moâat and her family through the screen. âYouâre still gonna love me the most right?â she pouted. âEven when the baby comes?â
âAw, Tuk. Are you worried about that?âÂ
The little girl shrugged and played with the beads on his choker. âTĂ€ylley said when her sister had a baby, everyone forgot about her. She said they only ever wanted to play with the new baby. Just like everyone sometimes does with Lâeo and Lâeya.âÂ
Neteyam knew the feeling Tuk was experiencing all too well. He was the eldest of four after all.Â
âIâm sorry your friendâs feeling that way but Iâm sure thatâs not the case at all. And it definitely wonât be the case for you. Who do you think is going to teach the baby how to build a fort or paint the best looking flowers Iâve ever seen?âÂ
âI can climb the best in my class. I bet they wouldnât know how to do that either.â
âNope. See, theyâll need an expert like you to show them.â
âYeah, I can show them⊠but only when they get older. When they could talk- and walk,â Tuk said, hesitantly as if trying not to get too excited.Â
âThatâs right.. You know, the baby, and Lâeo and Lâeya are going to need someone they can look up to. Someone awesome, and brave and smart. Someone who can-â
Tukâs eyes were wide as she absorbed her brotherâs words. âMe. Me! I can be that person. I know Iâm only seven, but I can do it! Almost- almost like a big sister, right?â
Neteyam kissed her cheek again and playfully tickled her side. âThatâs right.âÂ
XilĂ€ shook her head at her motherâs question. âI havenât really been sick, mostly nauseous around certain scents.âÂ
âOh you lucky bitch,â Dâavi teased without heat. âThese two had me constantly throwing up for the first four months straight, and then it was a constant fight or dance party inside me for the other eight.âÂ
âWhat has Ronal been giving you for your daily nutritional maintenance?â Moâat asked with a slight frown.Â
âA couple things Iâm unfamiliar with. But I feel fine and my energy is good. Once I have a nap in the afternoon, Iâm not overly tired for the rest of the day.âÂ
âWhat worries you mother?â Neytiri, who was at XilĂ€âs side, asked.Â
âI know not about the Metkayinaâs ways. I would be far more comfortable knowing XilĂ€ was under my care. How far along are you, dear? Did Ronal confirm?âÂ
âIâm nearing the end of my fifth month,â XilĂ€ admitted with a hand to her stomach. She knew where this was going. She knew it was time to share the other part of the news with her family- news she was dreading.Â
âShe- Ronal strongly advises against me returning home until a couple months after the birth.â
âWhat?!!â Dâavi and Sal exclaimed together. Even Neytiri- and Kiri, who had just joined, glanced at her in alarm, Jxoâs lighthearted expression turned to stone.Â
âWe donât leave here for another two and a half months and by then Iâll be too far along to risk the journey by ikran⊠Iâm sorry mother, I-â
âNo⊠No, TsahĂŹk, tell her itâs fine,â Sal gently demanded- though a hint of hysteria poked through. Â
âIâm afraid Ronal is right. I was against you going on this trip in the first place. But it wasnât for me to say at the time- and the risk was far lower. As much as you may not like it XilĂ€, the safest thing for you and the baby is to stay there.âÂ
~
Neteyam didnât think he could ever tire of the beauty spanned before him. Even at night, Awaâatlu was a sight to behold.Â
He and XilĂ€ sat on the beach while calm waves rolled in, kissing the tips of his toes before fading back. His pretty mate sat between his propped up thighs, head and body molded to his chest while he cradled her bump.Â
Since theyâd found out she was expecting two months ago, her bump had grown- still small but prominent enough that she couldnât hide it anymore.Â
âYouâre quiet tonight. Too quiet.â
âJust thinking.âÂ
âMore like overthinking. I can hear your thoughts a mile away, sweetheart⊠Tell me.â Â
She sighed. âI think itâs finally registered for me that weâre actually having a baby⊠a baby whoâs going to be here in only a couple of months. Our baby, yours and mine⊠I- Iâm going to be a mother.âÂ
At her tone, Neteyamâs fingers paused their gentle caressing on her bump. He said nothing, waiting for her to continue.Â
âI know weâve had conversations before and I agreed to all of this, and Iâm not backing out- Iâm not. But Iâm scared, Neteyam. Eywa gave us a precious gift.â
Her hands came up to rest over his. âIâm scared that Iâm going to mess this up somehow. I donât know the first thing about being a good mother. I mean, look at last month- I completely freaked out when I felt our baby flutter inside of me for the first time.âÂ
Still listening, her mate hugged her closer, chin nudging her temple, propped thighs pressing into hers.
âMy birth parents messed me up. Their own parents messed them up too. I want to break that cycle. I refuse to be like them. But it doesn't stop my worrying and I- Ugh⊠You probably think Iâm being silly bringing this all up again.â
âXilĂ€âŠâ Neteyam licked his lips and exhaled a breath. âYouâre not alone in the way youâre feeling. You donât think I worry about being a good father? Of course I do. But weâre in this together. You and me, baby. Weâll figure it all out together too. And you what? Weâre going to mess up. Weâre going to make mistakes. Thereâs no perfection in all of this.âÂ
He flipped the arrangement of their hands, his covering hers as they rested against her skin. âBut you know what? The little one we created inside there? Weâre going to try our damn hardest to be the best parents we could possibly be for them, and weâre going to love the heck out of our kid. âÂ
âYeah?â Her head tilted to meet his gaze.Â
âYeah, baby. You and me. Always...â He ducked and kissed the tip of her nose. âYouâre going to be an amazing mother, XilĂ€. Our baby is lucky.âÂ
Just as XilĂ€ was about to respond, a sharp gasp escaped her lips instead.Â
Neteyam tensed. âWhat-â
ââTeyam, I-â She grappled for his palm and moved it lower- just under her navel where sheâd felt it.
He was going to ask her what was wrong when he felt it too- he felt the light pressure press into his hand, a small little first hello from his baby.Â
âWas that-â And if he thought heâd imagined it he certainly didnât, because he felt it again, and then again.Â
âOh Eywa,â he whispered, meeting her awed ecstatic expression. âWas that the first time? First kick?â
âUh-huh. Oh! There it is again.âÂ
âWell hi there, little Sprout. Are you finally saying hello?âÂ
âSprout?â XilĂ€ chuckled.Â
âYeah, been calling them that in my head since your tiny bump first appeared.â
âSprout. I like it- itâs a cute nickname⊠Hello, baby Sprout,â she sang to her tummy.Â
âSpeaking of names, weâre going to have to pick one ou-â
ââTeyam.â XilĂ€ suddenly sat up and turned to give him her full attention, finality set in her expression. It had been eating her alive and now she was more sure than ever.Â
âI know Ronal said itâs not safe- but I really donât want to have the baby here. I want to go home. I want us to go home.â
And without hesitation or worry over how he was even going to make it happen, Neteyam gave her a firm nod. âOkay. Then weâre going to go home.âÂ
~
âAre you going to get big like Dâavi was? She was so huge! Bigger than TĂ€ylleyâs sister when she was having her baby.â
âA-ha! Um, maybe. Dâavi was having twins after all.â
âOh right⊠Is it only Sprout then? Theyâll be lonely inside of there donât you think? Oh! Do you remember the christening grandmother Sal took us too? The one where her- her friendâs daughter had three babies?! You should do that Xi.Â
You should grow three.â
âThree?â XilĂ€ spluttered with a laugh. âWhy three?â
âThreeâs better. Thereâll be one for me, one for Lâeo and one for Lâeya to play with,â the seven year old stated matter-of-factly.Â
âI see⊠Well, Iâm sorry I canât make that happen. I donât think it works like that. And anyway, Ronal confirmed thereâs only one little one growing inside of me right now.â
âOh. Mm thatâs okay too, I guess. Weâll just have to share, but Iâll be the babyâs fav-â
Tuk stopped. Her brow wrinkled as she pondered in thought, fingers pausing their works on the pile of sand she and XilÀ were constructing.
âXilĂ€? Do you think Sprout will like me? TĂ€ylley fights all the time with her sisterâs baby- and he canât even talk yet! She said heâs always pulling her hair or biting her finger! Can you believe that?â
XilĂ€ tried her hardest not to laugh at the little girlâs theatrics. âI think the baby will love you, Tuk. Just like I do. Iâm a little jealous that my baby will grow up having someone amazing like you in their life, honestly.â
âI am pretty amazing, huh?â Tuk nodded seriously, making XilĂ€ smother another incoming chuckle.Â
Tuktirey scooted over on her knees, sandy little hands reaching out to rest against XilĂ€âs bump. âI think youâd be a really great mommy.â
XilĂ€ sucked in a surprised breath. âYeah? What makes you say that?â she whispered.Â
âJust because, and my mommy and daddy said so too last night,â Tuk shrugged while she continued to rub XilĂ€âs belly, rendering the pregnant woman slightly speechless.Â
âWhyâs the baby so quiet? Can you make Sprout do the kicking thing again?â
âBabyâs probably sleeping. Lately, they seem to like keeping me awake at night with all their stretching and kicking. Shall we see if we can wake them up?â
After a couple nudges and feeling around, they finally felt a small, almost barely there kick which made Tuktirey giggle then pout when the baby didnât move again.Â
âI think Sproutâs a bit grumpy today. Probably telling us off for disturbing their sleep.â
Tuk sighed dramatically, a sigh that reminded XilĂ€ too much of Sal. âOkay, well let's get back to work then. Iâll finish the mountains and you dig the hole for the lake. Then we can fill it with water.â
âHey, Tuk,â XilĂ€ called when she caught sight of a lonely figure. Ronal and Tonowariâs youngest son was playing in the sand by himself a couple feet away. âThis seems like a really big task. Why donât you invite him to come help us?â
âOhh, great idea!â
Once the trio completed their masterpiece and the kids decided to run off and play near where Neytiri was helping shell clams with a couple other women, XilĂ€ stepped away and walked toward the shoreline.Â
A cool breeze sent her hair flying. She shook out the thin shawl sheâd been sitting on and wrapped it around her shoulders instead to combat the chill of the wind.Â
Neteyam and Aonung were still where sheâd left them since sheâd come out here. They were further out- knee length deep in the crystal clear waters as they fished.Â
XilĂ€ bit her lip at the sight before her. She openly ogled her mate, appreciating the ripples of his back muscles and biceps while he worked the massive net in his hands. Aonung must've said something funny, because her husband's shoulders shook slightly.Â
âCan you not look at my brother like that in public, XilĂ€?â Kiri complained with a dramatic groan, making the pregnant woman jump as she approached. âI get that your hormones are all over the place but sheesh. Every time I see you itâs the same damn look. No one needs to see your fuck me eyes in public. Bleh.âÂ
âWell hello to you too. Iâll remember this the next time you want to drag me to the training rings to spectate and find that Tasamâs the one whoâs conveniently already there, mid-fight. Iâll remember to tell you the same thing when youâre shooting him your own fuck me eyes, as you call it.â
Kiriâs mouth flopped open to argue a retort, but she quickly shut it when nothing came out. âShut up,â she seemed to come up with, failing at hiding her blush while Xi laughed.Â
âDo you miss him?âÂ
âA lot honestlyâŠâ She made a face. âIs that weird?âÂ
âNot at all. You like him, itâs okay to miss him⊠Do you find it weird?â
âYes. I find the entire thing strange. We went from never hanging out, to pretty much spending all of our free time together. And now Iâm wondering, howâd I never noticed him before? Itâs like one day he just appeared. And heâs soâŠâÂ
âHeâs so what?â
âUnexpected.â Kiri settled on. She sighed. âDid you know he told me heâs liked me for years? Years, Xi. I didnât even notice. It took your sister one afternoon to pick up on it and meddle her way into creating this thing between him and me.âÂ
Xi drew into the damp sand with her toes. The waters rolled in and covered her feet, erasing her artwork when it fell away. âHonestly? Iâm not surprised you didnât. Iâm sure youâve not even noticed your Awaâatlu admirer either.âÂ
âWhat? Who?!â
XilĂ€ jerked her chin towards Rotxoâs direction. The quiet man seemed to always appear wherever her sister-in-law was. He was currently seated nearby, whittling a spear whilst shooting not so subtle glances in their direction.Â
âAre you talking about Rotxo?!âÂ
âMmhm. Heâs definitely got a crush. Very sweet too, donât you think?â
Kiri stared at him with a tilt of her head, brows furrowed in thought. âHuh.âÂ
Xi snickered.
A comfortable silence fell over them, where they both got lost in their own thoughts. Xi returned to appreciating her husbandâs backside while Kiri pursed her lips as if forcefully trying to keep words in.
âTasam said heâs going to ask me to court when we get back home.â
An audible click was heard when Xi flung her neck towards Kiri, mouth open in shock, then morphing into excitement. âAnd what did you say to that?â
âNothing⊠and then I felt bad because there was a whole awkward silence moment happening while my brain went haywire. He told me not to say anything yet. He wanted me to take the time away to really think about it before making a decision.â Â
âAww Kiri. This is exciting. Do you know what youâre going to tell him?â
âNot yet,â her sister-in-law replied, but there was no hiding the blushing smile she tried to rein in.Â
A splash had them both looking out at the sea again.Â
âOh look, here comes, your admirer, and Iâm not talking about your husband,â Kiri deadpanned.Â
âHello beautiful,â Aonung called out, wading through the waters towards them with his and Neteyamâs catch for the morning.Â
âStop flirting with my wife, skxawng.âÂ
Aonung jogged ahead of him and sent XilĂ€ a playful wink with his good eye as he passed.Â
âBetter get out of here before he gives you a matching black eye, you fool,â Kiri taunted. She followed after him then broke off and headed towards Rotxo whoâd beckoned her over.  Â
âI really still canât believe you punched him, âTeyam. Youâre not boys anymore. You use your words, not your fists!â
âI did warn him though. Heâs the one who decided to keep flirting with you,â her husband shrugged as he made his way closer. âHe knew he had it coming.â
âHandsome! He only does it to piss you off. You could just ignore him. You know that right?âÂ
âI like my solution better.â
âOf course you do.â This man never ceased to amaze her.Â
Like an insect to a flame, when he got in reach, Neteyamâs hands crept under her shawl and immediately found her belly, fingers trailing over the smooth firm skin.Â
âHi,â he whispered in greeting, ignoring her exasperated expression and kissing her anyway. âHowâs my little Sprout doing today?âÂ
Sprout gave a big kick as if awakened by the sound of Neteyamâs voice- as if saying hello daddy!
âQuiet until now. Our baby always knows when itâs you.â
That made him happy.Â
âWhat are you doing later? If youâre not busy tonight, do want to go on a date with me?â he asked with a wiggle of his brows.
XilĂ€ pressed up onto her toes and looped her arms around his neck. Her bump prevented her from getting closer, but she made it work.Â
âAlways⊠Will there be sex at the end?â she teased quietly.Â
âItâs on the list of activities, yeah.â
âGood. We havenât done that in a while and I miss you.â
âItâs been only four days, Miss Greedy.â
âExactly, it has been four days. Iâm glad youâve been keeping track. Youâre the one who keeps putting off every one of my efforts.â
âYeah, cause⊠baby, youâve been so tired lately and- hey, donât even,â he said, halting her objection. âSproutâs been keeping you up a lot with all the kicking and you need to rest. So, Iâm making sure that you do when you can. Even if it means, no sex sometimes.â Â
XilĂ€ stared up at him for a long minute- taking her time to roam over his facial features. âI love you. What did I do to deserve you? I must have done something right- something big.âÂ
âStop.â He was trying so hard not to blush. âI hope you remember you love me the next time you want to rip my head off for simply breathing too loud.â
âThat was one time.â
He raised an amused brow as if saying really, babe?
âTo be fair you have been behaving ridiculous lately. Actually if weâre checking, pretty much since you found out weâre expecting.â
âWhen have I ever been ridiculous?â
âAre you kidding me? I have a whole list of instances, but if you want more recent- You tried to ban me from hanging out with Spider and Loâak just this morning at breakfast!â
âBecause the idiots wanted you to go with them to explore Cxâove Creek!â he hissed. âWho in their right mind invites a pregnant woman to go exploring a srakat infested water cave for fun?â
âI told you already, they were just being nice and simply offered. I wasnât actually going to go! You didnât have to be so bossy about it.â
âBut I thought you liked it when I was bossy?â
She turned flustered. âWell yes, but-âÂ
Neteyam silenced her with a kiss. Then another when she was about to protest and one final one before she finally gave up trying to argue. âI love you too by the way. Are you hungry? Have you had your second breakfast yet?âÂ
She shook her head with a grumpy frown, eyes following him when he squatted in front of her.Â
âI think your mamaâs mad at me, Sprout,â he whispered to their baby, kissing right where felt a poke, âbut donât worry, Iâm going to feed you both and then I think we should all take a nap, and that means you too. Canât keep waking her up every night, alright?âÂ
They both grinned at their babyâs nudge.Â
âAlright,â he said, getting up, âtime for second breakfast.â
Second breakfast. It made her chuckle every time. Â
When Jake had picked up on her habit of having another meal after breakfast and before her first lunch, he started calling it âsecond breakfastâ which was some sort of inside joke between him and Norm.Â
They tried to explain the movie where the joke came from. There was something about a quest and a ring and a creature called a hobbit?Â
And although it went over her head, second breakfast stuck.Â
~
Their final two months at Awaâatlu flew by, bringing many changes along with it.Â
The majority of the other clan leaders and clan representatives had by now returned to their homes, but for the Sully company, theyâd stayed the longest. Jake and his teamâs roles were far too important for the massive project theyâd started.Â
What they had accomplished was far from simply great- it was incredible, completely world changing. They had gotten the clans of Pandora to come together. Uniting them in a way that was marked as historic.Â
With Normâs guidance, a temporary form of communication between all clans was successfully up and running. It also aided the new system they were trying to implement for the sharing of resources which was finally underway.Â
And thanks to it, Neteyam was able to secure a safe solution for his wife to return homeâŠ
The moment he saw her, the manâs jaw dropped. His grin broadened at the sight of her midsection. âWell look at you, kiddo!â Stephan laughed as he gently hugged XilĂ€. âThe bump suits you, doll. Congrats, darling.â
âThank you,â she smiled, proudly, hand automatically running along said bump. âNice hairstyle, it suits you,â she replied, taking in his new-do. The sides were shaved and the hair in the middle was short and spiky.Â
âMuch more me, right?â he winked, moving forward to their packed things to grab up three overstuffed satchels in one hand and a wrapped heavy net in the other. Sheâd gotten Aonung to organize the specially crafted gift for her last week- she couldnât wait to give it to YalnĂŻk.
Neteyam and Loâak had just strolled into the marui when she awkwardly tried to bend to pick up a bag with the intention of following after Stephan. A belly bump made simple everyday tasks difficult sometimes, she was still adjusting.Â
Her mate was quick to tell her off however, mildly scolding her for even attempting to lift anything.Â
XilĂ€ huffed. âWeâve talked about this, Neteyam. Iâm not an invalid. At least let me help carry something out to the ship.âÂ
âHere.â He handed her a small pouch of seaglass stones she and Tuk had collected which made Loâak snort when XilĂ€ shot her husband an unimpressed look.Â
He took off with his own armfulls- the large case heâd brought his weapons in, a thick rolled up pelt and the last three satchels that held their belongings.Â
âFour more months. Just four more months,â XilĂ€ sang to herself. âHave I told you that your brother is driving me crazy, Loâak?â
âOnly two or three times a day since you told us you were expecting,â he teased.Â
âUgh! Everything is donât lift that, donât go there, thatâs too dangerous, my baby shouldnât be eating that, eat this instead, you should rest, you should sit, you should sleep! Eywa! If I didnât love the manâŠâÂ
âHey, donât look at me for help. Youâre the one who willingly chose him as your mate. You knew what you were getting yourself intoâŠâ His playful words fell away as he stared at her. âIâm going to miss you, XiXi.âÂ
âDonât do that, Loâ. Youâll make me cry. Do we really have to do this now?âÂ
He clicked his tongue sympathetically. âCome on. Iâll walk you out.â
XilĂ€ took one final glance at the now sparse marui before Loâak led them out onto the bouncing pathways.Â
âIâm going to miss you too, you know. Youâd better not hold any blessing celebrations over you and Tsireya without me.â
âNah. I couldnât even if I wanted to. After that stunt Neteyam pulled with you, mom would kill me in a heartbeat, and Tsiâs parents arenât people I want to cross either. Even grandmother threatened me on our last call. She wants to meet Tsireya in person before I officially ask Ronal and Tonowari for their blessing.âÂ
âI get it. Youâre bringing her on your visit in a couple of months right?â
âYep. So you better not have that baby until we arrive.âÂ
âI still canât believe youâre moving out here. I am so happy for you, though.â
Loâak stopped and pulled her in for a hug, being extra careful not to squish her belly. âHey Xi? I donât think I ever apologized⊠but Iâm sorry I was such an asshole the first time we met. Youâre hella awesome.â
Xi hugged him a little tighter.Â
The beach was crowded that morning- much like it had been on the first first day theyâd arrived. Many Metkayina surrounded Stephanâs ship, all awed and fascinated with the odd metal, bird-like aircraft.Â
From XilĂ€âs viewpoint she could see the eccentric Avatar giving a couple of the younglings a tour through the wide glass windows at the front of the ship.Â
This was it. It was time to return home.Â
Her and the Sullysâ goodbyes were bittersweet.
Awaâatlu had been their home for the past six months. She had formed deep connections, friendships and had grown attached to the sea and all the beauty that came with it.Â
âTake care of him for me, will you?â She overheard Neytiri asking Tsireya as they embraced. âHe can be a handful sometimes- too stubborn for his own good, but he really is the sweetest boy.âÂ
âAre you sure that contraption is safe?â Ronal interrupted, to ask Jake who was chatting with Tonowari. âI donât know if itâs any better than your tempered ikrans. It doesnât look like it.â
âItâs safe,â Jake assured. âThey did a lot of repairs on the ship in preparation for this trip. XilĂ€ and the baby will be well protected.âÂ
She gave an unimpressed hum, but said nothing else on the matter. Her expression softened when XilĂ€ approached to bid her goodbye. âYou better bring that baby with you next time you visit. I can already sense your child will be destined for great thingsâŠâ
Xi was finishing making her rounds when a voice called for her. Â
âAre you not going to say goodbye to me, beautiful?âÂ
âAonung.â
âTsk. Aw come on Xi- Iâm hurt, wounded,â he joked solemnly- palm over his heart.Â
âTake care of yourself, okay? I mean it.âÂ
His smile fell a little. âIâm going to miss having you around. It was sure fun riling up your husband⊠I never did get to fight him again.â
A chest plastered against her back and she automatically leaned into it. âYeah, cause you know youâd lose again, you skxawng,â Neteyam teased from over her head with a possessive palm to her round tummy.Â
Xi shook her head, highly amused- there they went again.Â
She was really going to miss this place.Â
~
XilĂ€âs reunion with her family was a joyful one. Welcomed home with open arms and all the love they had to give, she knew she made the right decision to come home.Â
Returning to the forest eased XilĂ€âs worries. It was safety, it was warmth and love. It was⊠home.Â
And although theyâd been gone for six months, she and Neteyam had settled back in quite quickly and were able to return to their routines just like before.Â
She resumed her studies with Moâat, eager to share all that sheâd learned from the metkayina and Neteyam returned to his duties as a high ranker, along with all the other responsibilities he had under his belt.Â
What was most exciting was catching up on how much sheâd missed out on.Â
Kahâlee and Wâaote were on some sort of weird break where they werenât talking but would still have the occasional âfuck session.â Wâaote apparently was ready to settle down, but Kahâlee wasnât- which was strange because before Xi left for Awaâatlu, it was the other way around. Kahâs hesitancy to officially court him sparked an argument between the two, thus creating the weird separation. Â
Leati and Zeâlu however were going strong. The female warrior loathed public displays of affection but Zeâlu appeared to be a stage five clinger- Kiriâs words, not hers. The man was completely in love and would smother his woman in affection despite her grumpy, lackluster protests.Â
XilÀ personally thought they were a perfect couple. He calmed her bitchiness and temper tantrums and she brought him out of his shell. It was the perfect balance.
The twins' development, however, amazed Xi the most. They were toddling around everywhere now, and always chatting up a storm in a mixture of baby babbles and their ever growing learnt vocabulary.Â
They were also both fascinated with her belly bump, especially whenever Neteyam was able to coax a big movement from Sprout- tiny little hands patting her with excited squeals.Â
And speaking of babies. Xi and her husband had done a lot of preparing for their little oneâs arrival. Xi had never sewed as much as she did before- Sal was a big help in that department.Â
Meanwhile Jxo and Neteyam did a lot of upgrades and rearranging of their tent in their spare time. Jake had pitched in too, only he called it baby proofing.Â
Her father had also built them the cutest little cot sheâd ever seen⊠It was very similar to the ones he did for his first two grandbabies- and yes, she did cry when he gifted it to them.Â
Since finding out that they were going to be parents, the mated pair were eager to absorb as much information and advice from those closest to them. And sure, they would have the support whenever they needed it, but they wanted to learn to do as much of it as possible on their own.Â
As she neared the end of her pregnancy, Xi had grown increasingly miserable. She couldnât move as fast as before. Her bump prevented her from certain tasks, her feet ached all the time, she could never find the right position to sleep in and quite frankly, she was just about ready for Sprout to move out.Â
Neteyam was another matter entirely.Â
Four weeks ago, Moâat had instructed her that she was supposed to be taking it easy- an instruction her husband was all too eager and diligent in making happenâŠÂ
Heâd become increasingly overbearing and overprotective of her throughout her pregnancy. It seemed as if as her baby bump grew, so did his possessiveness.
He snapped at anyone who so much as breathed too much in her direction. It was probably worse than his clinginess back when sheâd been rescued from Liâona.
Suffice to say because of said behaviour, it was no surprise when he and the women of their family butted heads a few times.Â
Sal and Neytiri had to keep reminding him that pregnant women were tougher than they looked. He and Dâavi also got into far too many bickering matches whenever he hovered and lingered during their âsisterly bonding datesâ.Â
Kiri and Moâat simply found Neteyamâs behaviour amusing- Xi was sure sheâd never seen the grandmother so entertained before.Â
And when XilĂ€ had finally met her twelve month mark- due date coming and going, there was no baby. She was a week overdue now and felt uncomfortably massive.Â
âWhy doesnât the baby want to come out,â she whined.Â
âYouâve made too good a home for your little one it seems,â Moâat joked mildly as she ran her hands over the stretch of XilĂ€âs skin, fingers pressing down to feel the babyâs position. âWe shall have to do some coaxing then, hm?â
âWhat kind of coaxing?â Neteyam asked quickly.Â
âHave her take a walk. She can try some charâmille tea, heavily spiced herb broth, perhaps a warm bath and sex.âÂ
XilĂ€ knew the list of suggestions, and yet even as the TsahĂŹk voiced the last one, her cheeks still tinged lightly. Her mate seemed unaffected though. He nodded seriously and asked his grandmother a couple other million questions- like he always did whenever they came in for a visit. Â
Is it normal that her boobs are already leaking milk?
When will they know for sure sheâs in labor?
Do they need to wait until her waters break or until the contractions start before coming in?
How painful will the birth be for her?
Was there anything he could do to ease it?
Fingers interlocked and propped up on her bump, XilĂ€ relaxed as best as possible while her husband went on and on with question after question.Â
Midway through their visit, he handed her a leaf wrapped snack that appeared from nowhere- some thinly sliced nectar coated meat placed between two sari cakes with mashed teylu and diced shrooms. Not the most appetizing thing to anyone else, but it was all she livid off of for the past week.Â
XilĂ€ smiled at her husbandâs attentiveness and dug in without needing to be told.Â
âAnd I know Iâve asked already, but are you sure thereâs nothing else I can do for her during the birth?â
âYour role is to support her. The moment is all about her⊠and then all about her and the baby. She needs calm. You soothe and encourage her through it all. Thatâs it. If you canât do that then you stay outside the birth room⊠Now, any other questions?â
âYes. What-â
This boy! Moâat huffed and shot XilĂ€ a half amused, half frustrated expression. âAre you sure you want him to stay during the birth?âÂ
âWhat do you mean? Of course Iâm-â
âIâm not asking you, âTeyam⊠XilĂ€?âÂ
âI wouldnât want him anywhere else,â she smiled.
~
Theyâd tried almost everything.Â
But no amount of tea, or broth, or walks or baths did anything to nudge their little Sprout out of her.Â
She was too uncomfortable for sex, so only when nothing else on the list worked and she was just about at her wits end, did she finally decide to give lovemaking a go.Â
âYouâll have to do all the work. Iâm not moving a muscle,â she groaned.Â
âWe donât have to do this, you know.âÂ
XilĂ€ could cry. âWell weâre going to have to! I want the baby out already, âTeyam! Iâm so uncomfortable. My skin feels stretched to its limit, my boobs feel like theyâre about to explode. And there are parts of me that hurt, that I didnât even know could hurt like this! I donât want to do this anymore. Please- just please do something! And why are you standing so fucking far away?!âÂ
Shit! âAlright hey, hey. Iâm here, baby.â He climbed into their hammock beside her, sensing a mental breakdown. âSweetheart-â
âThis is not sex,â she frowned when he cuddled her into his arms.Â
He tried not to smile. âLetâs take a breather first, yeah?âÂ
She nodded and blew out a gush of air. âIâm sor-â
âStop,â he whispered against her lips. âJust relax, sweetheart.â
He hummed the little tune heâd started singing to Sprout whenever he got too rowdy while his large palm soothingly ran over the curve of her belly. He prepared her with tiny kisses wherever he could reach from his position and sent silent prayers to Eywa to ease her discomfort.Â
ââTeyam.â
âXi.â
âI have to pee⊠again.âÂ
He kissed her forehead. âOkay. Letâs go.âÂ
After helping her to her feet, they probably only made it a couple steps before XilĂ€ stopped with a gasp. A gush of liquid escaped her- it coated her inner thighs and rolled over her calves and ankles as it fell to the floor.Â
âWas that-â
âMy waters broke,â she said, staring dumbstruck at the puddle at her feet.Â
~
The room was too crowded.
Neteyam was itching to throw them all out and with every passing second, every glance towards anyone who wasnât his wife, his patience grew thinner.Â
They were nearing the fifth hour since XilĂ€âs waters broke. Her contractions were slowly growing more frequent now, and it was killing him every time he saw another wave of pain hit her.Â
Seated between his raised thighs, he felt her body tense up again. She moaned through gritted teeth and desperately squeezed his forearms while the pain consumed her for a couple seconds too long for him, before her shoulders slumped and head fell backwards as she panted.Â
âYouâre doing so good,â he whispered against her temple.Â
She gave a shaky laugh in response.Â
âDo you want me to take over, âTeyam? You can go stretch your legs for a bit and-â
âNo.â He winced at his tone and shot his mother-in-law an apologetic half smile. âSorry. But no, Iâm good, Sal. Iâm not going anywhere.â
Five minutes later, his mother came and asked the same damn question.Â
Ten minutes after that, Dâavi offered to sing XilĂ€ a âcalming songâ she thought would help sooth her.Â
Neteyam knew it was their custom to have a âvillageâ present for a birth⊠but this? This was too much.Â
Why couldnât they wait outside with the men- as well as the shocking mass of clan members whoâd shown up to give their support?Â
That damn song made him reach his limit.Â
The singing, combined with the not so soft chatter from Leatiâ and Kahâlee seated in the corner of the tent, Sal and Neytiriâs bustling around the small private quarters Moâat had set up for them as they made arrangements and Kiri and Moâatâs ingredient tinkering- heâd had enough.Â
âBaby?â
âYeah?â
âHow mad at me would you be if I kicked them all out?â
Her head moved against his shoulder.Â
âWhat? Who?âÂ
Even with sweat slicked hair and heated flushed cheeks, he thought she was the most beautiful thing heâd ever seen.Â
âAll of them? Except grandmother of course.âÂ
Xi turned and took in the roomâs activities. Her stifled anxiety quickened so she quickly glanced away again.Â
âYou can say no.âÂ
âHonestly? Itâs crowded. I wonât be upset if you ask them to leave,â she admitted. âI love them all and Iâm glad theyâre here to support us⊠but itâs justâŠâ
âOverwhelming right?âÂ
She nodded, feeling a wave of guilt consume her.Â
Reading her all too well, he brushed her jaw with his thumb. âThereâs nothing to feel bad- or be sorry about. Theyâll understand.âÂ
Xi internally debated asking Dâavi to stay. But if she was being honest with herself, she wanted this moment to be between her and mate.Â
âWaitâ- she stopped him before he could move- âdo it nicely, okay? I donât want any of them to think theyâre a problem.â
He kissed her neck and promised to be nice about kicking out everyone before he got up.Â
Sal looked ready to put up a fight with him but with one glance at her daughter who Moâat was helping through another contraction, she relented.Â
The women understood- thankfully.Â
Both mothers showered XilĂ€ with kisses before they left and assured theyâd be a call away and just in the next room giving up prayers of their own.Â
~
In the quiet dim space, Moâatâs chats shifted in waves of highs and lows. XilĂ€âs wails however, overshadowed them.Â
âNo more. No I canât. I CANâT do thi-â XilĂ€ broke off into another cry that Neteyam helplessly tried to sooth.Â
âXilĂ€, breathe.â Moâat patted her thigh and waved another round of spiced smoke from a lit herb bundle.Â
ââTeyam,â she whimpered through never-ending tears, breathing heavily in pants she fought to control.
âI know sweetheart, I know.â He brushed away the stubborn strands of hair that kept getting stuck to her forehead. âYouâre doing so good. Almost there, baby.âÂ
Her chin wobbled and she licked her chapped lips.Â
âTell me what to do for you. What can I do?â We wished he had the power to take away her pain.Â
âTell me a story?âÂ
He couldnât help the breathy chuckle that escaped him. It had been a while since sheâd asked for one of those. Lips to her temple, he tasted salt. âWhat kind, sweetheart?â
âI donât know. Any? I just need to hear your voice. Please?â
âOkay, I got you,â he soothed. âIâll tell you about the one that changed my life, yeah?â
Her head fell forward when another contraction rolled in- back arching away from him. Her fingers bit into the flesh of his thighs that bracketed her own. His palms ran over her sweat slick skin- shoulders, arms and the backs of her hands whilst soft cooed words fell from his lips.Â
Only when it was over and she sagged against him- fatigue dripping heavily with another plea for him to talk, did he start his story.Â
âIt all started on what I thought was a random day of the worst year of my life. Nothing was going right and so much was weighing heavily on me. I decided I needed to get away for a couple day, so I went on a solo hunting trip to blow off some steam.âÂ
He ducked to check on her. Her eyelids half closed while she stifled a whimper.Â
âI caught nothing though, couldnât focus- I kept missing my shots. On my last day, after catching nothing again, I was just about to head back home when a woodspirit distracted me. And then I heard a sudden scream- a gut wrenching and skin chilling one at that. So I followed it and I found this odd little cloaked thing running from a nantang. They tried to climb a tree to escape, but they slipped, and fell.â
XilĂ€âs heart thudded in her eardrums⊠She knew this story.
âAnyway, after I took care of the beast, I approached the hooded and masked stranger. They blinked up at me for a second, with- with the most incredible eyes Iâd ever seen, before they blacked out. And when I pulled the mask awayâ- he made an approving pleased sound- âthe stranger? Prettiest thing Iâd ever laid my eyes on.â
Moâatâs chants grew quieter as she continued to waft smoke in Xiâs direction- it helped her calm somewhat.Â
âAnyway, I didnât know it at the time, but I made the best decision of my life by taking her home with me⊠After an order from my dad, I had no choice but to spend time with this gorgeous creature every day, and you know what?â
Xiâs eyes closed. âWhat?â
âIt was pure torture,â he whispered in her ear, making her snicker with a moaned wince.Â
âSo then what happened?â
Neteyam bent and nuzzled her cheek, palm coming to rest on her stomach. âSo, then I fell in love with her⊠and by some miracle she loved me right back.â
âAnd then?â
âAnd then I claimed her as mine, and she claimed me as hers⊠can you believe that? She became my mate. Mine.â Â
Xi peered up at him- pure love and adoration shining through her pain stricken face. âAnd then?â
He wiped the tear rolling down her cheekbone. âNo⊠and now⊠and forever.â
âXilĂ€,â Moâat called. âItâs time to push.â
ââTeyam⊠canât-âÂ
âShhh. Come on baby, what am I always telling you? Hm? Youâre strong- you can do anything.âÂ
âIt hurts,â she whimpered.Â
âIâm sorry, baby. Iâm sorry. Lean on me, sweetheart, I got you.â
~
Their baby came into the world with a hearty cry. Wails almost deafening but Neteyam laughed in glee- eyes prickling at the sight of the tiny wrinkly blue creature Moâat placed on XilĂ€âs bare chest.Â
A boy. A son.Â
âNeteyam- oh âTeyam, look at him. Heâs-â Xi grinned through her tears- pain forgotten, âheâs perfect.âÂ
Neteyam couldnât keep his eyes off of their little Sprout. âHoly shit.â He was here- their baby- their son.
Arms over Xiâs he gently cradled his babyâs head. âSo much hair,â he marvelled.Â
âItâs dark like yours, handsome.â Xi couldnât move her eyes away- too busy trying to absorb every single detail.Â
Index finger extended, Neteyam touched his sonâs palm, and when his teeny tiny fingers closed over the digit, his heart melted.Â
Their sonâs cries turned to whimpers as Xi soothed him and he looked almost annoyed as he blinked up at them through half opened eyes before they closed again.
âHi precious, Iâm your mama. Hi, arenât you the sweetest.â
âI think heâs got your eyes, baby. I caught a flash of silver.â
Xi took a damp cloth from Moâat and began to clean their son- removing away as much of the waxy type substance that coated his skin.Â
Moâat eventually took over after ensuring Xi was taken care of. The elder handled their baby with expertise. He began to fuss while she checked him over- gums, tiny tail, pointed ears and queue.Â
The grandmother failed to hide her sniffle and misty eyes, voice soft in her whispered prayers to Eywa.Â
âHeâs okay?â Neteyam was itching to have their baby back.Â
âPerfect. A healthy baby boy.â She handed the crying infant back to his mother and he instantly quieted. She gently cupped Xiâs cheek. âYou were amazing, darling. Congratulations to you two.â
âThank you, grandmother. For everything. Thank you.âÂ
Little Sprout gave an unhappy coo, and like a natural, Xi arranged him in her arms and helped him find her nipple. It took a couple tries and whispered coaxing but the instant he latched, he was hungrily suckling.Â
Neteyam stared at the two of them, entranced and amazed- unaware when his grandmother snuck out to share the news with the rest of their family.Â
He kissed his wifeâs temple, with whispered words of praise- telling her how proud he was of her. She met his lips with hers for a brief moment and with her own I love youâs.
After she shifted their baby to her other breast and he had his fill, she gently burped him, cooing a soft good job when he did.Â
âReady to hold him, handsome?âÂ
He nodded eagerly and shuffled out from behind XilĂ€, accepting hands comically larger in comparison to their infant.Â
Was it possible to love someone wholeheartedly after knowing them for less than an hour?Â
His mate was right, their son was perfect.Â
Nestled in the crook of his arms, their baby yawned, tiny fists clenched against his cheeks, knees drawn up against his tummy.Â
Neteyamâs heart could burst. Happiness consumed him.Â
âHe looks just like you. Just like his daddy.âÂ
The resemblance was startling, he thought. A mini him.Â
Xi peered at the second love of her life, head resting against her husband's bicep. âI donât think any of the names we picked out suits him, and as much as I think itâs a cute nickname, Iâm not calling our son Sprout.â
âYouâre right⊠weâll figure it out though.â He kissed the top of her head. âHow are you feeling, sweetheart? Do you ache?â
She nodded, fingers gently touching her sonâs tiny toes, they twitched and Xi thought sheâd just about burst into tears. âYes, but I can bear it. I canât believe our babyâs here with us now. Iâm so happy, âTeyam, I donât know what to do with myself.âÂ
âMe too.âÂ
Sprout shifted and made a soft noise in his sleep before settling- tail giving a slight flick against Neteyamâs hand. He truly couldnât take his eyes off of him.Â
âOur familiesâ are going to go crazy, theyâre gonna love him. Theyâre probably going mad over waiting so long as well,â he joked.Â
âLet them wait,â Xi sighed, the pad of her thumb tracing a delicately soft cheek. âLetâs just be together a little longer, yeah?â
Neteyam smiled in agreement. âWhatever you want, sweetheart. Whatever you want.âÂ
~
This chapter was soooo difficult to write & edit, I hope you all enjoyed it anyway!
First things first, yes, that was the last chapter- but WAIT. There will be a two-part epilogue. One- a slice of life after the birth of little Sprout and Two- a couple years after that.
PS. I still haven't settled 100% on a name for Sprout, so you can still send suggestions. Also, for girl names too (since they may or may not have another baby/babies in the epilogue).... (Who am I kidding, of course they will) LOL!
Okay, now cue the waterworks...
Thank you, THANK YOU to everyone of you who've followed me on this journey. Safe Haven is so special to me and I have enjoyed sharing it with you all.
Every read, every like, every comment, every suggestion and idea- just know I appreciate them all!
This community has been so welcoming and the response to a newbie writer like myself is profound.
As always, please share your thoughts :)

pervert!neteyam masturbating and imagine he's fucking reader đ«Ł
A mighty warriors need
adult Neteyam x female omatikaya reader
Words: 2.2k
Summary: The only trouble Neteyam allows himself to get into, is you.
Warnings: explicit smut, voyeurism, male masturbation, teacher/student dynamic, reader trained for her iknimaya at 18, slight age difference (Neteyam is 28, reader is 20), sexual fantasies
Notes: Just something short while we wait for my precious sun to come back and continue her event <3
Adult Neteyam art was made by @Cinetrix đ©”
Neteyam, for all that he tries to stay out of trouble and follow into his fatherâs footsteps, has never had a particularly relaxing life, or even one lazy day all to himself.
He has also always been what dad calls an "early bird".
When he was a child, his father told him stories of the time when he was a soldier on earth, how his superiors had called him an early bird too, because he was always the first to wake. Dad said, itâs a quality that shows of discipline.
And thatâs part, if not the main reason, why Neteyam has always raised from his hammock before the very first rays of sun could even cast over the horizon.
Stretching his limbs, his tired bones crack and he has to stifle a chuckle because he knows if mother was awake she would scold him because she dislikes the sound of that. After rolling his hammock together and stuffing it away, he walks over to his siblings, all three of them still sound asleep.
He pulls Tuks blanket up, gives her a little kiss on the forehead and then leans over to tip Loâaks chin up so he closes his mouth and rolls over in his sleep. It stops him from snoring, and then Neteyam watches with a fond smile how Kiris brows relax as the annoying sound finally stops.
Dad is now up too. He hears him shuffle around quietly in the dark, then nods his head at him when they pass each other. A silent greeting to not wake the rest of the family, before Neteyam ties his cummerbund around his hips and steps outside.
He knows his father is in no rush to start the day before he had what the human called coffee, a brownish powder brewed in a cup. Itâs one of the very few human quirks his old man canât seem to lay off.
But neither he nor the rest of the family seem to mind. It also gives him time to participate in the sacred morning rituals, offering prayers to Eywa, before he goes to pick fruit for breakfast.
Alongside his father, he then attends council meetings where they discuss matters of governance, strategize for the clan's protection, and ensure the well-being of their community.
As a skilled warrior, Neteyam leads training sessions for younger Na'vi warriors. He prepares his students for their upcoming iknimaya, imparting his knowledge of combat and hunting techniques, survival skills and the importance of harmony with nature, as well as the balance of life that eywa protects.
Itâs not everyday, but he also engages in diplomatic meetings with neighboring clans whenever his father is too busy to attend himself, fostering alliances and resolving conflicts. Itâs his diplomacy skills, honed through years of observing his father, that help him navigate discussions and negotiations, that ensure the unity and prosperity of their people, which are also well respected, especially among the olangi clan. The flight on his ikran is short, and itâs barely an hour before heâs back home.
Evenings are dedicated to spending time with his family. Neteyam joins his parents, siblings and the rest of the clan in sharing a meal, one whoâs meat he often participated in hunting the day prior. Engaging in the lively conversations around him has always come naturally to him.
You see, with great responsibilities befitting his impending role, his day was usually filled with numerous duties and commitments, leaving barely any time for him to step out of line even if he wanted to. The only time during his busy day that he made sure was strictly reserved for himself, was the time past eclipse.
As the sun sets and dawn casts its ethereal glow over the forest, he leaves behind the clamor of his responsibilities and disappears far off the village. With agile grace, he climbs onto a tree, finding solace on a sturdy branch that offers a panoramic view of the forest below.
Seated high off the ground, Neteyam takes a deep breath, inhaling the fragrance of the forest. He closes his eyes, allowing the soothing sounds of nature to envelop him, the rustling leaves, the distant calls of animals, before he opens them again. Right on cue, he hears the sweet humming sound coming from below him, where a small river ripples.
He can't help it. He should perhaps try harder to help it, but he cannot quite summon the willpower.
His position gives him the perfect view of the main reason he occupied himself here in the first place. It was something he just had to do to maintain his focus and equilibrium. It even reached a point where he found himself eager for it, looking forward to this rare moment he had all to himself. The only time where he allowed himself to act upon his own desires. And it was the rush of adrenaline and the excitement of doing something so forbidden and dishonorable that bought him here day after day.
This spot here in the forest, this river belowâ it was your favored bathing spot. And Neteyam always made sure he had front row seats to the little private show you so unknowingly put on just for him.
The thing that Neteyam had with you, was that youâve always been trouble. The only kind of trouble he ever allowed himself to get into.
Logically, heâs known it since the first day of your training, when you were one of his numeyu [students]. Heâd watched you undercut his authority a little more with every lesson, and underneath the spark of annoyance that had flooded his veins, he remembers thinking: this oneâs going to be trouble, in the kind of way that made him want to smile. He hadnât, at the timeâ but he had wanted to, and that was no small feat.
Now, youâre trouble in a different kind of way. Still in a way that makes him smile, but now... youâre the kind of trouble that he thinks could fuck up every single rule and regulation heâs ever made to keep himself disciplined, and heâs fairly sure that heâd let you if you asked nicely.
Fuck, heâd probably let you if you didnât ask him at all.
His throat feels tight as he glances down below, his hungry gaze landing on you just the moment you untie your loincloth and let it slide down to your ankles. His eyes travel over every inch of your exposed skin, every curve of your body, as you step into the shallow water.
Eywa, youâre a real sight.
Splashing some of the water onto your chest, he watches every little drop roll over your pretty tits, down to your navel. Itâs like youâre making a show out of this, bending down to collect more water into your palms in a way that gives him the perfect view of your pretty pussy from behind.
Great mother, the things he would do to press his face between your thighs, smell your arousal, to taste the wetness.
Neteyam canât help but let his hand skim over his chest, his toned abs and down past the cord that holds his loincloth together. His cock is hard and aching beneath the fabric, begging to be touched. He feels his heart speed up in anticipation, so he shuffles out of his clothes and wraps a hand around his shaft.
Squeezing the tip of his cock, where it turns from blue into a faint hue of purple, he forces the very first droplets of pre-cum to form and spill over his knuckles. Thereâs a tightness, a warmth that swells inside him and it gets even worse when he inhales deeply and your scent fills his nostrils and he bites down on his lip to hold in a moan.
Itâs the same scent that was right under his nose when he had trained you not many years ago. When he had guided your hands to hold your bow, corrected your stance by pressing himself against your back and straightening your spine. Itâs the same scent, just so much sweeter now that he has his cock in his hand.
He then rolls your name in his mouth, testing the syllables in a hushed whisper. He can envision moaning it, wants to moan it if he can be completely honest.
Neteyam watches you use different soaps and kinds of oils you made out of herbs and tree sap to rub into your skin. Your hands cup your breasts, palms running over your perky nipples until theyâre shining in said oil and he imagines those perfect tits bounce right in front of his face while youâre riding him.
Itâs a mouth watering image in front of his minds eye. You on top, your back arched, your hips rolling. And Neteyam, rolling right back, on his elbows, mouthing your breasts, your collar bone, feeling the way you would squeeze around his length as you ride him.
He runs a ghosting touch down his stomach, the vision of your hand doing it. The imaginary weight of you on his lap grinding down on his hard member to put some friction onto your needy clit might have made him come when he was younger, but now he just groaned and let one hand wander to his balls to gently squeeze and knead them. His other hand strokes faster, tugging from base to tip in a quick rhythm that makes his eyes flutter closed for a moment.
Neteyam canât seem to keep them away from you, though, so he quickly opens them again. Feeling the pressure build and the heat start to flood his system, he attentively watched your delicate hands roam your body to further massage the oils and natural soaps into your skin.
He could almost feel those fingers on his cock, kneading the flesh of his inner thighs, wandering up and down, gripping him tightly, urging him on. He could imagine exactly how your hips would circle against his groin, the rub and retreat designed to tease his cock until he couldnât fight it anymore and just started mindlessly rutting against your body.
Stepping deeper into the river, a content little moan leaves your parted lips as the water encircles your middle. Itâs just now that he sees you have a wooden bowl with you. It floats on top of the waterâs surface, before you dip it into the water and then empty it over your head to rins yourself off. Neteyam imagines the feel of it sluicing over your shoulders, your breasts, your belly, soothing tired and aching muscles. He imagines the warmth of the water flowing further down, dripping off your rounded hips, your mound. Stroking himself faster, he imagines running his tongue along your skin to catch every drop of water, imagines how rich it would taste of you. Itâs such a perverted thought, so shamefully dirty that the sheer thought of voicing those fantasies makes his cock throb so hard that his breath catches in his throat.
Itâs so dirtyâ he is so dirty.
If only you knew how many times he came into his fist with your name on his lips and those thoughts in his head. Neteyams face burns hot with shame, and he doesn't need a mirror to know it's suffused with a purplish blush.
Shuddering, then moaning softly, he stares as if hypnotized at those wonderfully plump lips of yours.
Eywa, he was really losing the battle with his own arousal. His thoughts jumped from one filthy image to the other, it was hard for him to focus on any part of your body for more than a minute because there was always something new, something hotter, something he wanted more desperately.
And now it were your lips. Those lips that would feel so incredible wrapped around his length, he knows it. A mouthy little thing like you surely was good for more than just talking back. Knowing you, you would definitely give it your all as you sucked his cock. He knows you would work through the stretch in your throat like a champ, would take him in deeper and deeper despite the way the fat tip of his cock would make you gag and bring tears to your eyes. You would suck him like your life depended on it, he was sure of it. And you would enjoy it. Would milk him dry over and over again, hell you would definitely beg him to let you suck him off.
Neteyam felt his orgasm overtake him, heat surging through his body like white fire. His hand moved faster, quick strokes that made his chest heave with desperation, chasing that pleasure high like prey, but then youâ you turned around, and fuck, your gaze suddenly lands right on him. So direct, if his head was anywhere near clear enough to think, he wouldâve realized that you mustâve known that he was there this whole time. But it was already too late now.
Eyes dark with lust, Neteyam held your eyes captive as you then wordlessly pushed him into his orgasm with a seductive little wink, watching with a growing smirk how his back arched and rope after rope of cum splattered against his palm.
See? Youâre trouble. Trouble, in the worst of ways.

The moment Priya gave you the blood work on your avatar, you knew you were in deep shit with Alma.
Obviously, humans make mistakes all the time. These things happen. But you didn't have much of an excuse because you were in your avatar form when it happened, and normally, you hate it when people blame alcohol for their mistakes. In your mind, that's not an excuse. You would be a hypocrite if you did the same when Alma finds out your avatar is pregnant.
It was undeniably strange to be pregnant in one body and... empty in the other. After Priya gave you your results, you stayed out of the link bay for a week, too weirded out by the idea. That whole time you remained in your human body, you tried your best to figure out what to do and who to tell.
You should tell So'lek... right? After all, he played his part in this as well. A part of you felt guilty. He rarely smiles let alone 'lets loose', and the one time he decided to indulge in a few drinks and celebrate against the Sky People, you both end up outside of HQ toward the edge of the forest, fucking like rabbits in a frenzied heat which now led to this.Â
Not like you regret that night, despite everything. You've had one-night stands in the past (how else are humans going to pass the time on a moon that wants to kill them?) but that night with So'lek was easily the best. It wasn't hateful, but it was definitely rough and desperate. It felt like you were both so into it, not sure where one of you starts and the other ends, unable to keep each other's hands off of your bodies. You felt as though he was mapping every inch of your skin, but no matter how much he tasted you, it was never enough for him.
But by morning, he was gone, and you felt stupid to believe a drunken night would change anything. He was So'lek after all, the lone Na'vi, driven to avenge his butchered clan. He hated humans and had very little empathy for avatars, always saying the word 'dreamwalker' with distaste. He treats you much like how he treats Alma or Priya. With indifference. You should've known a few drinks and a good fucking wouldn't change a lifetime of hate. Neither would a baby.
The word alone made you hold your breath, out of fear or excitement, you weren't sure. You never thought you'd be a mother, especially on Pandora where the odds weren't exactly in your favor. Up until this point, you had only referred to your situation as a 'pregnancy' and hadn't even used 'child' or 'baby'. Until now, as you finally came to terms with the uncertainty that lay ahead in your future.Â
One thing was certain: You couldn't tell So'lek.
If he didn't care for humans or humans that look like Na'vi, you knew it wasn't possible for him to care for a hybrid of the two. You've experienced firsthand what the Na'vi think of you and Alma's avatars... and you've seen firsthand what the Na'vi think of children from said avatars. You didn't want that for your child, even if it meant shielding them from their father.
You knew you needed to plan, but first, you needed some trusted help. Priya gave you your blood work results, but thankfully, she didn't read them because if she did, all of Resistance HQ would know about your pregnancy before you could even wrap your head around the idea of it.
Alma would likely lecture you on contraceptives like you were a child despite the fact you were closer to her age compared to the Sarentu students she taught, so for the time being, you would keep her in the dark. The Sarentu, however...
You have grown fond of the young group of Na'vi since they first joined the Resistance. Alma used to tell you stories about the children she taught back at TAP. Fun stories, embarrassing stories, all of which made you smile or laugh. When you first met the Sarentu after they were rescued, you immediately welcomed them with open arms into the Resistance, and they have grown quite attached to you... well, other than Nor. He looked at you the same way he looked at Alma, the same way So'lek looked at all dreamwalkers.
You decide to confide in Ri'nela and Teylan about your pregnancy and make them promise not to tell Nor, knowing he'd likely tell So'lek. Both were excited for you and willing to help in any way they could. The three of you come up with a system to prepare for the day your avatar would begin to show your pregnancy, but until then, you must plan for your new arrival.
~~~~~~~~~
The regret and disgust he felt after fucking a dreamwalker has kept him away from HQ more than usual-- and that's saying something.
It wasn't as though So'lek was disgusted by you, but mostly himself. He thought he was better than that, stronger than primal desires that come out during a moment of weakness and the influence of alcohol. He should've known that his life of solitude would eventually get the better of him because not even his hand would be able to quench that need to have a warm, wet pussy wrapped tightly around his cock. He saw a chance to have that again, if only for a moment, and the alcohol helped him gladly take that leap. Your own hand was enough to rile him up when you held onto the back of his neck for dear life as he had you pinned against a tree. Maybe you hadn't realized it in the moment of primal desire, but your fingers were absently tracing the base of his kuru and the memory of your touch was enough to make him light-headed.
It wasn't healthy for him to be living out in the wild alone if this is how he reacts to one simple touch, so desperate for that connection with anyone... including a dreamwalker. He was disgusted, but again, mostly with himself, feeling as though he took advantage of you and the moment, ready to do anything to have your tight pussy hugging him and keeping him warm and needy.
He always considered intimacy to be an activity only meant for two individuals who were either mates or people who had a deep connection with one another. He didn't have either of those things with you. At least... that's what he kept telling himself after that fateful night, the night he slipped away once your exhaustion took over and you couldn't keep your eyes open a second longer. He had been internally punishing himself every day since then.
You come from a species that murdered his entire clan. That thought alone made him feel guilt and shame in his gut for ravaging you, his usual need for revenge pushed back in his mind and replaced with the need to fuck your pretty pussy. The fact that you managed to distract him from his lifelong goal if only for a moment, angered him. The fact that a sky demon had this effect on him had him reeling down his tunnel of shame.
Then again, he knew you were not solely responsible for the death of his clan. He had to continuously remind himself that you were his ally and not someone like Mercer or Harding. You had an avatar like Alma, but in So'lek's opinion, you have done far more good than Cortez has. You actively prove yourself, time and time again. When the Sarentu returned, you immediately went out of your way to make sure the younger Na'vi felt comfortable and welcomed in their new home. So'lek had watched you during these moments, wondering if you had originally been there when his clan was butchered, would you have treated him the same? You're always kind and patient, especially against his scrutiny. He doesn't know why you thought he deserved your kindness, but maybe that's why he thought he could be vulnerable toward you.
If he deserved it back then, he definitely didn't deserve it now after immediately leaving you high and dry that fateful night like you were just a cum dump. You weren't, and even he thought you deserved better, dreamwalker or not. Despite how he felt what you did or didn't deserve, So'lek had been avoiding you like the plague. Little did he know you were doing the same.
Even when he did see you, which was rarer than ever, it was only when Alma forced the pair of you in close proximity, and you were always in your human body, never in your avatar. If your eyes ever met, you always ducked your head when he glanced at you or hid your face behind a breathing mask. So'lek could only imagine how you felt after that one night. He imagined you were as equally ashamed, judging by the fact you rarely looked him in the eyes, and also because you don't ever use your avatar body around him. He wasn't blind. He knows that was likely the reason. So'lek imagined that you probably didn't feel comfortable being a dreamwalker around him anymore, even more so than before when he used to verbally mention his distaste for them.
~~~~~~~~~
You're definitely showing.
Teylan had given you his old TAP shirt to wear (the logo covered with a badge Priya made for him stitched over it) but even then you felt like everyone was staring at your middle. Maybe it was just your paranoid pregnancy brain, but you were pretty sure you weren't imagining the way Alex's eyes drifted down to your stomach when you stood your avatar to full height before he quickly glanced away. After that, you wore your bulletproof vest over your middle.
It also didn't help that you've started to 'nest', which essentially just came down to you and Ri'nela practicing your newly earned weaving techniques to try and fashion a bunch of Na'vi child-sized items. Whatever she learns from the Aranahe, she brings back for the both of you to practice and learn the new skill, and while at first, it seemed hopeless, eventually you fashioned a cute, tiny loincloth that actually made you tear up at the sight of it in your large hands.
You know you'll eventually have to tell the rest of the Resistance, but you, Ri'nela, and Teylan have made plans that last at least until the end of your second trimester. Maybe if you slowly introduce everyone to the idea of a Na'vi baby being around, maybe the blow wouldn't be so hard when you eventually share the news. Or, and this may be the paranoia part of your brain, maybe you could just move your avatar far away from here, either to live alone or live with whatever tribe would accept you until the baby is born.Â
Either way, you're running out of time.Â
~~~~~~~~~
"Are you with child?"
Ri'nela looks up from her datapad, her confusion met with a stern, possibly overprotective So'lek as he stares the young Sarentu female down with a questioning gaze. Ri'nela's blood froze when she suspected why exactly he might be asking her, but she played it off to the best of her ability, "What? No?"
"Then what is this?" Her heart plummets when So'lek raises a small item in his hand. It was tinier than even his palm, a little beaded top meant for a Na'vi baby. So'lek's tone remained accusatory, interrogating one of the young adult Sarentu he feels responsible for, "I saw you weaving it earlier."
Her lie rolls easily off her tongue, "It is just practice. I make smaller versions of things that I want for myself. Once I get the technique down right, I'll make a bigger one that will fit me."
So'lek's eyes narrow further with suspicion, "Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"There's a scent on this one."
Again, Ri'nela's blood grows cold, but she uses nearly every muscle in her face to keep her expression neutral. Whatever expression she projects, So'lek doesn't read anything off of it as he continues, "It is faint but I recognize it. It is the scent of a pregnant Na'vi."
"It is not mine."
"Then whose..."
Ri'nela's tail is the thing that betrays her, flicking irritably from side to side behind her. It is also the thing that attracts Teylan to her side, the male Sarentu bounding over to Ri'nela and So'lek without care or notice of the tension between them. So'lek's eyes dance between the two younger Na'vi, still suspecting the small item in his hand. If it didn't belong to Ri'nela, then it must belong to another female Na'vi, but barely any come around the Resistance HQ and he highly doubted any of them would leave their future child's clothes behind. However, even if there weren't any female Na'vi around, there were still female dreamwalkers.
Alma was definitely not pregnant. So'lek had just seen her that morning and her scent was still the same as it had always been. As for the other female avatar, So'lek doesn't dare try to think about the last time he saw you--Â
... Ri'nela watches as realization dawns on So'lek's face, a brief moment of horror before it's quickly replaced with stern determination.
"Where is Y/n?"
"She's out." Ri'nela quickly answers.
However, she should've said something more when she noticed Teylan's ears and tail perk up with interest out of the corner of her eye, just as he spoke up, "Yes. She said she was going to the Kinglor Forest to collect samples!"
"Teylan," she hissed quietly, immediately regretting it when Teylan flinched and stared at her with almost comical wide eyes. She sighed and immediately apologized under her breath, her hand soothing his shoulder whilst she hesitantly stared up at So'lek.
His eyes continue to narrow down at her as if he was lecturing a child. He could easily tell that Ri'nela was trying to hide your whereabouts from him, and now he needed to see for himself as to why... though he was starting to piece the puzzle together in his head.
"She should not be traveling alone. I will go find her."
Before Ri'nela could even protest, So'lek whips around and leaves the base.
~~~~~~~~~
If you thought your first trimester was rough, you clearly weren't prepared for your second.
Your belly finally beginning to grow past your shirts and barely hidden in your loosened vests, you have begun to journey out of HQ on your own to not raise suspicion. During these times away, you've indulged yourself in hiding under your clothes less and today was no different, setting your vest and shirt down on a nearby rock while you wad into the shallow water of the river you found, wearing only your avatar-size bra and safari shorts. You bend down into the water to take a few vial-sized samples to bring back to the lab for Alex, but you've lately had to bend your body differently than normal with your rounded stomach now starting to get in the way of your usual activities. You straighten back up with a loud sigh, stretching your back and absently rubbing your belly before taking your hand away again to stopper the vial.
Had you been born and raised as Na'vi, you would've noticed you were being watched immediately, a thought that came to So'lek's mind as he discovered you on the river bank. He remained hidden for the time being, quietly observing as you cheerfully hum to yourself to pass the time during your research. His yellow eyes widen at the sight of you, visibly glowing while your changed scent wafts in his nose, answering all his previous questions. Now the sudden disappearance of your avatar from his presence finally made sense to him, eyes lowering down your body until they landed on your newest, most prominent feature.
You finally notice something wrong with your surroundings, your ears picking up something you didn't initially hear, and a different scent suddenly fills your nose. Looking around you happen to look over in his direction as you gasp out of terror, dropping your vials into the river, hands coming up to hold your heart before you realize who it was and you force your heartbeat to relax. For a moment, you're calm, before you finally remember why you feel so exposed as his eyes zeroed in on your belly, "Oh, shit, So'lek--"
"How long have you known?" He demands outright, stepping out into the open, just along the riverbank.Â
You pause, ears folding back against your skull as alarms go off in your head, unable to recall all the lies and excuses you had practically rehearsed in the mirror for weeks on end. You find yourself muttering the truth, "... I found out three weeks after... you know, after you and I--"
"That was MONTHS ago," he unexpectedly snarled, narrowed eyes flicking up to yours, "And when exactly were you going to tell me about this?"
The hostility toward you brings out your defensive side as your eyes squint at him, "I didn't think you'd want to know."
"In what world would I not want to know about something like this? Why would you keep something as serious as this from me?"
"Last I checked, you wanted nothing to do with me," you snarled back, recalling the morning she woke up and he wasn't there, "What else was I supposed to think?"
"You could have at least told me I was going to be a father from the beginning!"
"And how do you think I feel?!" You screeched, clenching your hands into tight fists as you gritted your teeth, "I'll have to give birth in a body I wasn't even born in! I'll have to raise a child that's technically not even the same species as me! And let's not forget that my baby daddy hates the very sight of me!"
He wasn't familiar with the human term 'baby daddy' but by the tone of your voice, it wasn't meant to be a good term. While you made very good points, his head was now less angry and more reeling over the fact that you were pregnant with his child. The shock was finally settling in and while a part of him says he should be... pleased, the other part of him felt estranged by the whole ordeal. Growing up, he had always been taught the joy of becoming a parent, but after losing the majority of his clan, he felt as though that future was already dead and gone. But now you stood before him, and so much conflict was welling up inside him. You weren't his mate, and one could argue you weren't even the same species as him, but one night of mistakes led to a child that So'lek wasn't sure would be welcomed in this world of Eywa.
While he sounded less angry when he next spoke, it didn't hide the disappointment in his voice, "That does not explain why you chose to keep a child of mine a secret from me--"
"--Because I knew this is exactly how you'd react!" You snap, "What would you do in my situation?"
He remained quiet because he wasn't foolish enough to try and lie to you. He honestly wouldn't know what to do if he was in your place. His silence was all the answer you needed, as you slowly started to relax your posture and give into an emotion that looked a lot like defeat,Â
"Listen, I get that you don't like me. I'm fairly certain you actually hate me, which is why I kept this from you. I didn't want my child growing up thinking their father hated their mother."
The words make his ears twitch but he otherwise didn't say a word, allowing you to continue. Your voice comes out distasteful, a tone that comes out every time you speak of your home planet, "Believe it or not, that's very common back home and I didn't want that for any child of mine... human OR Na'vi.
"And... and I know you've never met Jake Sully or his family, but I have. Before he left the Resistance to me and Alma, I got to know his kids. One of his sons and his adopted daughter were born with avatar traits. Brows, fingers... Lo'ak and Kiri were on my mind when I found out I was pregnant. I've seen firsthand how they're treated by other Na'vi. I've seen how Lo'ak treats himself, and... and I didn't want that for my child, especially if they end up looking like me. I didn't want them to grow up believing they were some sort of monster or demon."
Your look of defeat turns sour while pointedly glaring over at So'lek, "And YOUR presence wouldn't help that."
The silence is deafening, or more specifically his silence. You notice how the river and the forest around you felt alive with noise and beauty, yet So'lek stood among all of it like a ghost, silent as the grave. The only indication that he was still alive was the tail behind him, twitching to indicate he was contemplating.
Confliction was still at war in his head. This was still a child you were talking about. His child, and yet you felt the need to hide it from him. And yet, instead of anger, he felt guilt and shame because he knew you had every right to do so. It was his fault. He had made his distaste for your kind known, and many times it was even said to your face. You had every reason to believe he would care very little for a child made by both him and you. So'lek was ashamed of himself because you felt the need to shield your child from him, a child that wasn't even born yet. You made valid points that not even he could argue with. This child may be born with Na'vi in its veins, but vrrtep blood would also be added to the mix. So'lek would be lying to himself and his child if he went around hating all humans and avatars and yet loved a baby made by both him and a dreamwalker regardless.Â
The fact that he still wanted to love the child regardless came to mind, and he honestly surprised himself with this revelation. Perhaps that was why he was so angry before. Because you were hiding a child he could love. Despite everything, this was still So'lek's child and a deep and secret part of himself was glad that out of everyone he had ever known, you were the child's mother. If Eywa had to pick anyone to carry his child, So'lek was relieved she picked you because despite you're differences, he trusts you more than any human alive.
It was selfish of him to think after everything he's said and done, but a deep part of him wanted this child to be born looking like you, or, technically your avatar. He would be lying if he said he wasn't curious, and he looks at your eyebrows and extra fingers now with curiosity, not hatred. Because that's what it really comes down to. You think that So'lek would hate a child who has human traits, but that is far from the case. So'lek didn't care about what the Sky People and dreamwalkers looked like. He never has and never will.
He doesn't judge what people look like on the outside, but he judges them for whatever is held within. How could he hate an innocent child who would clearly grow up only knowing the best parts of both their father and mother? You were clearly a kindhearted tawtute. There is nothing but good inside you, and that was the only thing So'lek had cared about in others. It was easy for him to hate all Sky People because up until the Resistance, he thought all Sky People were terrible and cruel, the sole reason his clan was gone.
And now... his clan could be restored again. Probably not to the state it was before, but it was a hopeful and bright future for So'lek and his child. He thought he would die alone and with everything his clan had taught him, but now... he could pass on that knowledge and teach his child everything he knows. However, one quick look at your expression and he could tell that you would need a whole lot of convincing.Â
"You are right."
Your brows furrow with confusion, "Say that again?"
"Had you told me sooner, I likely would not have reacted well."
Your tone drops into sarcasm, "Oh, and this was you reacting well?"
"Worse," he corrected himself with a small roll of his eyes, "I would have reacted worse than I did now."
"Right."
He sighs heavily, "I do not think I can pretend and be comfortable about... everything that has happened between us, but I want to try."
"To try what?"
"To try whatever it is you want to do," the small look of confusion on your face only makes me further elaborate, "You have a choice, 'eylanay. And whatever choice you make, whether I agree with it or not... I will try and respect it."
You're still trying to wrap your head around the fact that So'lek has yet to pull you into a full-blown screaming match, so your reactions were admittedly slow, "What choice are you talking about exactly?"
"Whether or not you will allow me to be a part of the child's life."
He watches your eyes widen in shock, "You... want to be?"
"Yes, I do," the Na'vi male nods firmly and confidently, "I understand why you would be hesitant, but I promise that if you give me the chance, I will be a part of this child's life every step of the way. You see... to me, it does not matter what flows through one's veins. I have never, not once, judged your appearance because that is not what matters to me."
You pause and think back to all the time you've known So'lek, and he was right. He never talked badly about what humans looked like. He never even outright talks about you or Alma's appearance as avatars. The only thing he outright disapproved of was you trying to pretend to be something you're clearly not.
When you don't argue with his statement, So'lek continues, "Any child born from us will never be judged for their appearance or who they were born from, I swear it. The only thing that matters is their heart and soul, and I know, with you as their mother, this child will have a good and kind heart and soul, and will never know the deep hatred and greed of the people you were born to."
His words honestly drove you to stunned silence, unsure how to respond. You were speechless, opening and closing your mouth to form a reply, but you were too surprised to speak. You had so many questions, other things that the two of you would have to worry about down the road, like what does this mean for the two of you and if you were going to need some form of co-parenting dynamic. You decide not to bring this up right away, as you've been thrown for a loop once already today.
Slowly, you finally just decide to nod and see how this goes, awkwardly answering, "Okay."
His gaze was cautious, but even from where you stood, you could've sworn you saw a flash of hope in his eyes, his tail betraying him as it swayed behind him, "Is it?"
"Yeah," you start to grow nervous under his careful eye, looking around so you can find something to do, "Yeah, um... Let-- Let me just retrieve my vials and then we can head back to HQ to talk more."
You go to bend down to find the stoppered vials you had dropped into the shallow water of the river, but you don't get very far before So'lek steps into the river as well and crouches down before you, his hands already underneath the surface and leisurely searching for the vials in question. You stand back up to your full height and just watch, curious despite the warmth you feel growing up your neck.
The water makes the sound of a surfaced splash as So'lek's hands rise out of the water with the vials in hand, standing up to his own full height, which easily towered over your avatar's. You hadn't realized how close he had been until he was handing the vials to you, and immediately you look away and clear your throat.
"Thank you. So... how did you find out?"
He briefly frowned before comprehending what you were trying to ask and reached into his pouch. He lifts his hand and you recognize the beaded top Ri'nela promised to finish for you when you no longer had the time to do so.
He looks at the item with you, "I thought it was Ri'nela's."
A surprised snort of disbelief escapes you, the nerves now bleeding into amusement, "Ri'nela?? Seriously?"
His ears twitch irritably, but it doesn't intimidate you. Not this time. "Yes."
You smirk, "Believe me, big guy. If Ri'nela was pregnant, I would've killed the one responsible ages ago."
Unexpectedly, your chest floods with warmth as So'lek makes a deep, reverberating sound and it takes you a moment to realize it was a laugh. The laugh was short yet sweet, and when So'lek recovered, there was still a small but clearly visible smile.Â
He takes a brief moment to think before he holds out a hand, making it clear about his intent, "May I?"Â
You look at his hand then look back up at him, nodding before moving your arms to your sides so that So'lek has full reign of your belly, but he doesn't take advantage of it. If anything, he almost looks hesitant, internally stunned that you gave him permission. He slowly places his hand over your pregnant stomach, and you are quickly reminded of how large his hands are.Â
Neither of you say a word, just standing in the shallow part of the river, the water up to your ankles as you both stare down at So'lek's hand, placed gently over your round belly. You know So'lek must have felt something because his tail curled to alertness behind him, and his mouth slowly formed a brief, fond smile, which undoubtedly made your heart squeeze.
As you watch him technically interact with your unborn child for the first time, you start to feel incredibly grateful for how your situation turned out. You haven't known Eywa and her beauty for very long, so you're not sure if she deliberately picked So'lek for this to happen with you, but all the same, you were glad it was him out of everyone you know. You didn't know the sentiment was mutual.
"So'lek?"
"Hm?"
"Thank you."

MONTHS LATER...Â
One look at So'lek and you knew that twins weren't common among Na'vi. He had to have someone explain to him the amount of babies human females can bear, and his expression of horror honestly made you laugh more than anything, despite how exhausted and overwhelmed you were. While you didn't give birth in your human body, your avatar still contained remnants of human DNA, and back on Earth, your family had a history of twins, so in conclusion, you shouldn't have been all that surprised. Still, you didn't think that would transfer over to your false Na'vi body.
You didn't blame So'lek for being horrified. You were just as equally scared. You thought the two of you might be able to handle keeping one child safe during a war, but two? As you and So'lek looked at each other, you didn't have to say a word to know what the other was thinking. After all, it came with the territory of being mates. You tend to always know what is going on in each other's head.Â
You never thought So'lek might actually care for you more than just as the mother to his child, but over the last months throughout your pregnancy, he made it perfectly clear that he wouldn't have shown interest the night you two ended up fucking against a tree if he didn't already care for you. His feelings were complicated, yes, but due to a lifetime of death and revenge, no one could really blame him. He was honest with you one night when you finally asked him where you two stood in all of this and what it would mean to raise a child together.
He was honest when he said he wasn't going to mention it because he thought you regretted it. And in a way, he did regret your one-night stand, but for a completely different reason. He admitted that he thought you deserved someone better, someone, who didn't initially spit in your face when you both met because he thought you might be just like all the other Sky People. Pregnancy aside, he confessed how much he had grown to care for you, but he knew it all initially started way before you two had your night of fun during that one fateful celebration. He knew he cared for you even before that, he just couldn't admit it to himself before he got drunk and had his way with you.
Once boundaries were made and feelings were shared, So'lek brought you to a special place, the Tree of Souls. The two of you, no longer influenced by alcohol or conflicted emotions, bonded and mated before Eywa. You blamed your pregnancy for how emotionally intimate it felt for you, all your hormones going through the roof, and it only spurred So'lek on since he could feel it all through tsaheylu. Unlike your one-night stand, this was slow and passionate, and it likely would've gone all night long...
That is, until your water broke. But hey, things happen.
Despite all the confusion, doubt, and fear fighting in your mind about the war and how you'll have to protect your children, you took one look down at your twin sons and all those thoughts went away. You never thought you'd be a boy mom, let alone a boy mom to twins.
Once So'lek's initial shock wears off, he's immediately tending to you and your sons. Sons. He still can't wrap his head around it. This was far more than he thought he deserved, beyond his wildest dreams.
Weeks go by, and now all of Resistance HQ has grown accustomed to your new family dynamic, and many of your friends were over the moon about your boys. To play it safe, you didn't break your link with your avatar until the body fully recovered from labor and the babies no longer needed to be nursed, but you kept yourself entertained with your new family, unable to stop smiling at the sight of your husband and sons.Â
To give your new family some privacy, Ri'nela and Teylan took a private room in HQ and formed what they called a "nest corner", which came down to essentially just a bunch of pillows, blankets, soft, warm little lights hanging from the ceiling, and even two hammocks. The two snonivi in question apparently were woven by Nor, but you're not entirely sure, a little put off by the fact that he actually wanted to help.
As So'lek stood up from your little nest of blankets and pillows, one of your sons safely sleeping in his strong arms, you had the sudden urge to tug on your mate's tail.
So'lek whips around and points at you with a finger and a knowing glare, "Behave."
"Or what?" You grinned, your tail flirtaciously swaying behind you and you watched the way So'lek clearly noticed it.
He huffs lightly, shaking his head at your antics, playfully warning you, "Easy, yawntutsyÏp."
You bite your lip to refrain from smiling uncontrollably, briefly looking down to check on your other son, also sleeping but in your lap as you sit cross-legged before you speak once more, a playful tone still etched in your voice, "You know... Anufi says that I have about one more week before she thinks I'm fully recovered from labor. So... I'm just saying... pretty sure I'll be going back to my usual mischief again soon."
He shakes his head once more, but he can't exactly hide the way his tail perks up with interest, "Your mischief is what got us two sons in the first place."
"Excuse me?" You scoffed, faking how appalled you felt while placing a hand over your heart as you glared up at him, "You came onto me, big guy!"
"Wrong. If I recall, I came inside you."
Your jaw drops, the room filled with silence other than the tiny, cute noises your sons made as they dreamed. You stared up at So'lek in shock, trying to replay his words in your head that left you baffled and speechless, rapidly blinking your eyes like it would somehow wake you from this dream. Did he actually just say that?
His grin is light and playful, making him look years younger, almost an entirely different man, "No one will ever believe you."
