5/9/2020 The final blog
Yesterday I got the unfortunate news that my thirteen year career playing baseball came abruptly to an end when I found out that the summer baseball season has been cancelled. I was very shocked to have received this information because the season doesn't start until mid June and a lot of things can change from now to then. I was just glad that my final game of my career I had the best game of my life and in the final weekend with my team was one of the most memorable times I will have in my life.
Anyways today a big dumpster that my dad had rented arrived at my house so we decided to move all the crap that came from my gutted bathroom that was sitting in the garage into the dumpster. It was very interesting to do because I never really thought dry wall or Sheetrock was that heavy and it was a struggle to lift a lot at a time. After lifting that I decided to Door dash a little bit to relieve some stress that I will face this week.
As I close out on this blog I am very thankful that I have done this because it gives me a way to write out and give me some relief from the stress that life has brought me the past trimester. Thank you for assigning this project to us

5/8/20
Today marks the day where the English course ends in one week. I dug myself the largest hole in human history regarding an online course and I have been working my butt off to try and comeback and finish on time. I have been trying my best to do as many assignments I can a day along with these blogs but with my AP Calc BC exam coming up it is going to be really stressful to do English so I must work as hard as I possibly can on it. So I worked on English for three hours so far today.
I decided to take a little break from English and go to the tennis courts to relieve some stress. I met up with some friends where we talked and played tennis fro around two hours. It did a really good job with clearing my head and i am now motivated to do more English work tonight.

Today I happened to wake up at noon to find a text from my mother telling me catch back up on school. With this whole pandemic I thought I would just be able to cruise through school and have it be the easiest trimester in school of my life. I soon found out that it just gave the teachers an excuse to assign as much homework as they possibly can and no sessions to actually teach the material to the kids. This along with the two NSO classes I have with the may 15th end date has made it really hard for me to cope with school. I hope that I can turn things around and get through all of these English assignments and finish with an adequate grade in the class. I currently have around twenty assignments to finish so hopefully the motivation to grind out and finish the assignments stays within me

Rather than talking about my life and how it was affected by the pandemic from now on I will be talking about my past day. Since today was national star wars day. I decided to watch the final episode of a show that has been in existence since 2008 and ultimately my favorite show of all time. The last episode was very emotional but probably the greatest in the whole series. To rid of my emotions I decided to go to the baseball field and practice a little bit with my brother and friends. Going to the field was a great calming experience for me and is exactly what I needed to rid me of all the stress going on in my life currently. After that I went home and I have been doing homework ever since

5/1/2020
Today I will be blogging about my day as it was pretty eventful. The first of two things I did was that I played fungo golf with some of the kids from my baseball team as a way of being together again during this quarantine. Fungo golf is pretty much a game some baseball players play when they are trying to have a good time after practice. The rules of the game is that you pick an object out in the vast distance and use it as your hole and the goal is to get it there in as little shots as possible and you do that by tossing the baseball into the air and swinging at it with your bat toward the target. Since the pandemic is such a big issue with get together, we made sure to social distance and we brought our own ball so that was the only thing we touched. we ended up having a nine team bracket in which my team placed second. Overall the fungo golf was a really fun experience .
The next thing I did was play tennis like I usually do every weekend day since that is when the courts at the high school are open. I usually play with a few of my friends and we have actually gotten pretty good since the start of the quarantine even though only one of us actually plays tennis.

4/29/2020 Door dash pt 2
Today I will be continuing my topic of Door dash, only now I will be talking about the negative aspects of the job as I have increasingly found many negative things about the app I use the way it works and unfortunate deliveries I have had in the past.
First I will be talking about some cons I have with the “Dasher” app. First off I cant even use the app right now because I cant close out of a tab and I don’t have the information to advance through the tab. I have contacted the support for my issue but they have seemed to be no help so far. Another issue I have the with the App is that It does a poor job of saying how far away the house is from the restaurant you pick up the food from. This is extremely frustrating when you have to drive twenty minutes for a 4 dollar order rather than driving 10 minutes for a order for more money.
Another topic about cons I will be talking about is how frustrating it is to see that your rating is going down when its not your fault. An example of this is when I was waiting for a chipotle order for an hour because they were way behind and instead of the customer giving chipotle a poor review they decide to give me a poor review which hurts the future delivery jobs I will get.
The last issue I have with Door dash is with how bad the support is. During my two weeks working for the company the app has crashed once and the support has done nothing to help me figure out how to deliver my order during the crash. Today I got a text saying that I didn't complete 3 deliveries even though I haven't missed one and that I would pretty much be fired if I continued doing this. In response I have attempted to contact support about my issue.

4/25/20 Covid 19
Well its official, the rest of the school year has been transferred to distance learning and in cancelling the rest of the school year MSHSL has decided to cancel all of spring sports.I was very emotional when I found this out mainly because I am not playing in college but I am glad that I played my heart out in my last game ever.
The next topic I will talk about is my job. My parents and I agreed that working at Dairy Queen is pretty dangerous for me and my family because i would be coming in contact with hundreds of people a day and since my dad has diabetes he is considered to be at risk for the disease. However, I have started to work for Door dash because I can wear gloves and a mask when I work and social distance myself from others while also having the opportunity to make money. I have been doing door dash for the past few weeks and I have really enjoyed it because there is not as much stress as their is working at Dairy Queen.

4/21/20 Covid 19 Baseball life
Over the past month the spread of the virus around the globe has halted all sports and activities throughout the state and the country. Teams are not allowed to have scheduled practice has a gathering of more than ten people is not suggested throughout the state of Minnesota. The school has also closed down many of the facilities players would use to their advantage to train on and the principles of my school have threatened to call the cops on the students for trespassing if they are caught on the campus during school hours. With everything shut down, participating in the annual baseball fundraiser has become extremely difficult as we are not permitted to sell door to door anymore.
The baseball team communicates through an app called Band as well as through Zoom calls. There the coaches and players discuss how to remain in baseball shape as we prepare for any chance of us having a season. If we do have a season it will be a very short one due to the virus and it will not be pushed back into the summer according to MSHSL.

3/26/20 Covid-19
This blog will be about how the recent corona virus outbreak has affected my life as well as my family’s life. Although no one in my family has been diagnosed with Covid-19 it still affects the daily lives of everyone in my family. The first post Will be about how it affects my life. More specifically how it affects baseball.
On March 25th the entire Woodbury High School was supposed to leave for Orlando Florida to participate in games but as well as experience all the parks that Disney and Universal has to offer. As it kept getting closer and closer to the desired date we couldn't help but realize that the chance that our trip was cancelled was only increasing. When Disneyland in California closed we feared that it was only a matter of days before Disney world followed. When we got the news it cancelled we still had hope we could move it to somewhere else but the school cancelled all travel. Although we were super bummed about the decision being made. The organization understands the decisions and our thankful that they put our safety first.
