NADINA’S   EYE   TWITCHING   AT   THAT,   not   believing   that   someone   like   camila,   the   queen   bitch   herself,   would   believe   she   had   something   to   do   with   marla’s   death.   she   was   there   with   them   when   everything   went   down,   when   they   all   got   the   video,   so   there   was   no   shot   that   it   was   her.   if   anything,   they   should be   focusing   on   camila   .   .   for   all   they   know,   she’s   the   one   who   did   it   with   how   late   she   was.   all   that   time   for   what   ?   what   was   camila   hiding   ?

𝐷𝐴𝑊𝑁 𝐷𝑂𝐸𝑆𝑁'𝑇  𝐺𝐸𝑇    scared.  they’ve  been  on  so  many  stages  that  stage  fright  doesn’t  mean  a  thing  to  them,  and  played  so  many  soccer  games  that  fear  isn’t  really  something  that  they  know.  even  when  they’re  staring  down  a  defender  that’s  𝐭𝐰𝐢𝐜𝐞  their  size,  dawn’s  not  scared.  

but  right  now?  dawn's  scared.  not  just  scared,  no,  terrified.  marla  wouldn’t  have  reunited  them  all  without  a  decent  reason.  she  said  she  never  wanted  to  see  them  again,  for  crying  out  loud! the  old  record  skips  as  dawn  walks  in.    they  look  around:  no  one’s  there  yet.  they’ve  never  been  an  early  bird.  hell,  dawn's  been  late  so  many  times  that  their  dad  gave  them  a  watch  for  their  birthday  (  ᶤᵗ'ˢ  ᵇʳᵒᵏᵉᶰ  ᶰᵒʷ  ˒  ᵗʰᵉʸ  ’  ᵛᵉ  ᵇᵉᵉᶰ  ᵐᵉᵃᶰᶤᶰᵍ  ᵗᵒ  ᵍᵉᵗ  ᶤᵗ  ᶠᶤˣᵉᵈ  ).    it’s  strange,  fininding  their  favorite  green  apple  slushie  right  on  the  end.  the  bell  dings,  signaling  another  person’s  entry,  and  dawn  looks  up.

NADINA   LOOKS   OVER   AT   THE   OTHER   FROM   THE   ENTRANCE,   her   eyes   softening   at   the   sight   of   them   before   slowly   making   her   way   over,   looking   around   the   empty   diner   —   it   was   weird   to   be   back   here   again   after   so   many   years.   it   was   quiet,   empty,   it   looked   abandoned   .   .   so   why   did   marla   even   want   to meet   up   here   again   after   so   long   ?   what   made   her   change   her   mind   about   all   of   this   anyways   ?

they   weren’t   complaining   of   course   .   .   it   just   was   shocking   to   even   get   that   message   from   her   in   their   groupchat   —   what   was   the   girl   planning   ?
