My second typewriter. I've gone from 0 to 2 in under 2 weeks.
The reason for this one, is I wanted one that needed fixing up. Even though it says fulling working, the space bar is stuck and a couple of smaller pieces aren't working properly. It also said 'fully cleaned' but as you can see, that isn't true, the button I started cleaning is actually black.
I wanted a typewriter where I could learn how to repair it without worrying about if I broke it and no rush to actually repair it fully. But it gives me time and space to actually learn about the basics

For my birthday my brother got me a vintage typewriter, unknowingly bought me my dream one!!
He bought it fully restored, however when it arrived it had a bearing that was broken, leading me to try and find one. My option was the buy a spares and repairs typewriter the same as mine to take the part from hoping that someone else hadn't already taken the piece, or look online for a piece for my 1962-64 typewriter.
I joined a Facebook group for vintage typewriters, and uploaded a photo asking if anyone knew the exact name of the bearing, I was calling it a Carriage Bearing but didn't know if that was correct because I needed to find the exact one to replace the broken part and I'm new to vintage typewriters.
A man commented saying he specialises in this particular typewriter, and if I was in the UK he could possibly help. This was a group for people all over the world, and this seemed too good to be true, but I didn't have much to lose and I'm an adult who can make my own mistakes. He messaged me with a photo saying he had a spare bearing and it will be hard to find because they don't often break ( I found 0 online) and he can send it to me. I offered to pay and £6.70 (including postage) later, I had sent him the money and my address. A few days later the bearing arrived and it was perfect. I replaced it and finally I could type properly!!
So here's my 1962-64 typewriter (can't pin point the exact year even with the serial number) that I will be typing loads of random things on!!
I've also bought another typewriter as a repair job, so I can learn how they work properly and be able to repair my own one if anything goes wrong with it!!

I love personalization. I love stickers on water bottles and on laptops. I love shitty marker drawing on the toes of converse. I love hand embroidered doodles on jeans. I love posters on walls. I love knick knacks on shelves. I love jewelry with goofy charms. I love when people take things and make them theirs.

hi, a lot of you need a perspective reset
the average human lifespan globally is 70+ years
taking the threshold of adulthood as 18, you are likely to spend at least 52 years as a fully grown adult
at the age of 30 you have lived less than one quarter of your adult life (12/52 years)
'middle age' is typically considered to be between 45-65
it is extremely common to switch careers, start new relationships, emigrate, go to college for the first or second time, or make other life-changing decisions in middle age
it's wild that I even have to spell it out, but older adults (60+) still have social lives and hobbies and interests.
you can still date when you get old. you can still fuck. you can still learn new skills, be fashionable, be competitive. you can still gossip, you can still travel, you can still read. you can still transition. you can still come out.
young doesn't mean peaked. you're inexperienced in your 20s! you're still learning and practicing! you're developing social skills and muscle memory that will last decades!
there are a million things to do in the world, and they don't vanish overnight because an imaginary number gets too big

“When people don’t express themselves, they die one piece at a time. You’d be shocked at how many adults are really dead inside — walking through their days with no idea who they are.”

Friendly reminder: when people say ‘as long as you tried your best’ it doesn’t mean ‘the best you could possibly have done ever’ it means ‘the best you were capable of at the time.’ Sometimes ‘trying your best’ is just getting out of bed in the morning. Just because you weren’t working yourself to the bone doesn’t mean you weren’t trying your best.

Some clarification, I am NOT making 2000+ bracelets for Starkid. That is how many quotes I have written down in total, allowing me to pick quotes based on ones I want to do and what letter beads I have left, especially towards the end. It will probably be around 370ish bracelets in total including some very limited custom ones for people I know

UPDATE:
HOW TO SPOT ME AT STARKID ICBIBALLTAY
- Same bags
- So far I've made 327 bracelets to trade and gift, I've got Cinderella's Castle to make bracelets for, I'm aiming to do at least 20 from each show. The Potter Musicals and Nightmare Time have been wrapped into a category each so 20 from each. Then I'm going to make a few random ones so I'm probably looking at around 370(??) possibly.
- I'm filming all the bracelet updates on my tiktok Kylecosplays
- I will be there both days!
Saturday I'll be Pokey, and Sunday I'll be The Narrator
