I'm okay, I just got sick of the spam so I went radio silent for a while. They seem to flood my inbox every time I get even slightly active and it's honestly super annoying. I'm taking the "casual fan" approach with the Hazbin fandom for now, I still follow along, especially on bsky, but for now I don't really make much of my own posts or content.

I expect my inbox to get flooded again after this post but oh well 😓

Was really inspired after watching Stayed Gone 3d

A doubt quickly came to me when I was reading about the trial....In Media Demon AU it is Alastor who Charlie presents as a candidate for redemption even though she knows very well that he would not want it. And I love how I'm sure Alastor, knowing from the previous timeline, thought Angel would still be presented as the candidate.

And Charlie is going to do better in the trial this time.... How likely is it that Heaven will try to see that the best candidate put forward by the princess is redeemed? Or what would happen?

There will be chaos with the exterminations being known to the rest of Heaven as well as those who are condemned by technical means, particularly the cases of children.

And now that I think about it, in this AU Alastor's mother appears in the chaos that is caused in Heaven as a result of the trial?

The likelihood of Heaven actually cooperating with Charlie in her redemption plan is going to be low regardless of the advancements Hell has made, and regardless of the person she puts forth as an example. In fact, I don't have doubts that seeing Hell as a thriving and functional society would terrify some paranoid assholes up there, because that means that Hell is organized, and therefore fully capable of rising against Heaven. In which case, it wouldn't matter that they're better people, or that their grievances with Heaven are reasonable given the yearly genocide. They're still a "threat," and would be treated as such.

I think those in charge of sanctioning the exterminations are going to just look for any excuse to continue what they're doing. Sure, Alastor has done a lot of good down in Hell, and is a great example of a soul redeeming themselves, but to the paranoid crowd, he's going to look like the biggest threat of them all. Charlie's basically showing off the man who organized Hell into what it is now, the man who helped establish medical care, angelic steel research, and security against the exterminations. THIS is the guy who's made the extermination numbers drop drastically over the years.

As for Alastor's mother, no I don't think she'll show up as a result of the trial, mostly because I'm under the impression that the trial was private? I'm not entirely sure, but Sera must have known that the topic of exterminations could have come up with her meeting with Charlie, so I would be surprised if the trial was made public.

How's Al with new tech in the media demon AU? I imagine he's still more partial to his own time's entertainments, but now, especially since he's in control of so many different types of media, would he have like a work smart phone? A laptop?

I mean, we know he wrote a TV show, so he at least showed some interest there even if it was partially a means to an end.

He'd get to know the tech when it's first created, and has time to get acquainted to it. Would he still struggle? Is he inexplicably a tech genius and completely lost about it at the same time? Idk how that would work but I could see it.

Alastor still prefers older technology, although he doesn't have the deep-seated revulsion he had in the last timeline due to the fact that there's no brainwashing super stalker in charge of all modern tech. Regardless of his preferences though, he can, in fact, sit down and enjoy a movie or TV show without wanting to hurl now, and is in fact pretty happy to do so with Charlie or his significant others.

What if you combined Hazbin Ghosts with Media Demon?

Course a few things would be different but still

I think Hazbin Ghosts would lose some of its impact if it were to happen in the Media Demon AU, because the main draw of Hazbin Ghosts is that nobody, up until this disaster, knew just how much Alastor actually cared until then. In the Media Demon AU, it's very obvious that Alastor cares about everyone, so the impact of everyone watching him go crazy looking for them isn't as powerful. Personally, this is the reason why I prefer the two AUs to be separate.

She could've said, "Actually, Alastor, you should just tell me what you know about the exterminators and if you don't, I'll make sure you don't have fingers to pick your teeth up off the floor" but no. She was like "i'll make this deal with you 😔 it's the only way" she's too nice. Girl you should kill him

18+ fic idea, I want more fuck or die fics not for the horny, but for the angst and hurt/comfort. Specifically, I've got this concept in mind where Alastor gives in specifically because Charlie's life is being threatened. Stuck in a room with his body tied up in blessed rope, unable to access his powers, and watching a screen from the point of view of a sniper, who has their gun locked on her. It's not even angelic steel, but what does that matter when Charlie is hellborn? She won't come back like some sinner, she'll just die.

And, unfortunately, Alastor genuinely cares just a bit too much about her to let that happen.

I generally always think about Alastor as trans no matter what I'm writing, but I sort of challenged myself to think about what sort of smut I would write for an Alastor WITH a dick and... Once again I got stuck for a moment, but I always imagine if Alastor DID have a dick, it's a small one. A very cute little one.

And my brain, as always, LOVES doing the opposite of what people expect. So I was like "okay I have to make Alastor the top in this hypothetical smut scene and I HAVE to do it without tentacles."

And then I remembered Alastor can grow to the size of a building.

random rambling about the Media Demons (Part 2)

So we're gonna talk about the guy currently rotating around my head 24/7 atm. This might be longer than the last one

Radio Demon: Alastor

I'm not joking when I say I have looked up alot of history topics just cause of this dumb deer. Maybe I don't even have to say it if you have been looking at my posts recently. If so, I'm sorry you have to suffer through my history lessons...ANYWAYS here's a history lesson on Radio in the 1920s and 1930s.

To start of with, this man either forced himself to learn everything he could about radios when he first came across one (they were and expensive as hell in the south during the 1910s) as a teen to know how to make a broadcast OR he was part of WW1 and was a radio operator (which wasn't usually a job available for POC in that era, but idk maybe they were short-staffed or Alastor lied on his papers).

You may be saying, "He probably didn't need to know that if he was just the show host", but to that I say: I don't think he was just the show host, I think he was the whole station.

In the show, we see him have a whole board of dials and switches in front of him in his tower and doesn't seem to have a single person working close to him that has any experience in Radio show business. While compared to Vox in the same episode we see him have people control the lighting and cameras. A unique comparison, and also how this connects to history:

POC couldn't legally work in a radio station, I know some people write that maybe he did have a job but was just treated poorly and not paid well. But, him getting the job in the first place would be a huge danger for the station since they would be legally committing a crime in that era just by writing his name on any papers or if he was caught just working in the building. Plus there's a much more fun less horribly racist way he could get his own radio show. ILLEGALLY!

Illegal radio stations were stations broadcasting without government permission and usually began their business by hijacking broadcasts from other radio stations until they had their own. Like the thing Alastor did to Vox's show in Stayed Gone? Exactly! Plus, when the government did eventually want to either shut down or give licenses to these stations Alastor could have gotten a license without ever showing his face.

It would also make sense how Alastor might've had Mimzy on his radio show that the Playbill mentioned (Assuming it meant his show when he was alive but it could have very much meant his show in Hell) and how he was popular. Yes, he would not publicly or legally reveal that he was part of his radio show BUT the 'circles' him and Mimzy hanged out with as well as local people would know who he was and would give him that popularity he apparently had when alive.

Alastor has been doing his show longer than Vox's career and definitely more confident in it. He was around in Mimzy's era (1920s) and died during the Great Depression (1930s). But if we go with my idea that he started this after WW1 than he's been doing the same career for even longer and with even less help. Vox probably was in the film industry before TV but I don't think Alastor was in show business until his radio show (unless you count maybe doing some music for jazz clubs, he canonically knows how to play A LOT of instruments). So Vox could depend on previous connections and employees while Alastor probably worked solo for the most part.

His hatred of showing his face on camera could have MANY reasons but I think one of them could be the fact that he couldn't really do that when he was alive unless he changed who he was (like making himself 'pass' more as a white person by changing his physical appearance or pass more as a 'man' by changing his mannerisms).

He most definitely only survived the Great Depression because of his job and I think that's one of the reasons he's so connected to it. During that era one of the few well-paying stable jobs WAS radio. Especially, since it was the one thing that kept people motivated, informed and connected with each other. It was literally described as the one thing that helped people survive the era. But it also was probably the only reason why someone like Alastor a mixed race person in the SOUTH (The South was hit horribly by not just the Great Depression also the Dust Bowl which led to an increase of population from people leaving the plains and moving down there where the economy could barely support) was able to afford food and everything else to live. If he had a different job he might've died sooner or atleast suffered more.

On a lighter note: He's a hypocrite! Alastor might know modern slang ("that's the tea") and probably even modern music because his job WAS tied to keeping up with the culture. While TV was more for glamour and what people fantasized life to be, local radio shows focused on keeping up with current culture. So this nerd might still be keeping up with current culture while just also keeping his personal love of the past. He's an old man hipster!

Speaking of, I think that's why he gave Vox a chance in the beginning. Because in his era TVs were a brand new and amazing invention that he never saw flourished and he probably thought Vox as a person was something similar.

I might make a third part (Don't worry it WILL be short) just saying how these two losers were doomed to become enemies/rivals if they were are the embodiment of their respective medias. Not right now though, kinda tired of writing lol

Honestly so much is going on in that video, like Charlie and Blitz is such a cute interaction, the possibility of seeing Lucifer in Helluva Boss and the other sins in Hazbin Hotel is DELICIOUS, and Vaggie was HIGH KEY giving Vox the STINKIEST eye which is very interesting and I can't help but question if it's personal.
