In the beginning

Every good story has to have a beginning and an ending. All that stuff in the middle is the meat and potatoes of the story. My meat is usually hamburger and not steak and the potatoes are on the verge of going soft but it fills the stew pot of my story.

Here is my beginning...

Mid Life Crisis!

You laughed a little didn’t you? It’s ok. So did I. However it IS truel. Ok ok so maybe crisis is a strong word. Maybe I should call it mid life turmoil instead. Needless to say I hit the new year at the age of 45 years old and took a good look at my life and knew something different had to happen this year.

I’ve always wanted to write. I’ve been writing since I was in seventh grade. It started with silly seventh grade ideas of romance novels. It progressed to writing A grade worthy book reports for seniors when I was a freshman. As a young adult I would write on whatever struck my fancy at that point. All this writing was for my own personal enjoyment however. I never gave any serious thought to having my words go beyond family and friends.

Entering into my forties has changed that mind set. I still like to write but have used so many things as an excuse to not be serious about it. I went from one to two to three then four kids. I did the stay at home mom thing then the work thing. I have spent my time lost in vice and time working for the good. I have seen the good the bad and the ugly of human nature and had my fingers in a good amount of it. I’ve been around the block forward and backwards and snuck down the alley.

Why does any of that matter?

It matters because I have stories to tell. Some of funny as all get out. Some will make you cringe. Others will tug at your heart strings and others still will hopefully make you think. All in all I hope that by finally sitting down and putting all my thoughts down - someone - somewhere might sit back and go, “yeah I got you girl - I know just exactly what you mean.”

So here is my begininng. We can all write the final chapters together.
