I’ve been using these Iconic Diary Stamps and absolutely love them for decor and tracking my mood on the monthly calendar spread.

However on the Midori MD Diary they do have a lot of show through- but it’s not stoping me from using them 🥰

Halfway through my 2023 Hobonichi Cousin - Day Free…

Finally getting a little chunky 😊…

I typically will use them for 1.5 to 2 years before they get completed. I don’t “push” myself to complete in 1 year because this journal is used as my art journal and play in it when the mood strikes me. It’s a relaxing 😌 thing for to do.

It’s why I love a day free option so I don’t feel guilty for not completing in a year.

Midori MD Diary A5 - Removing Cover

I've been enjoying the Midori MD Diary A5 I picked up for 2024. Since the monthly calendar begins in Dec 2023, I decided to start using it.

What I noticed after a few days was how much I disliked the actual flexible cover that wrapped the front and back. The edge warped under the slightest pressure and it didn't fit into any of my current A5 covers. I have a lot of covers already and was not looking to spend more money.

So I made the choice to remove the cover and so glad I did. I can now slide it into my any of my Hobonichi A5 covers with no problem.

It stay tucked into it and doesn't have any hangover.

The stich binding is still holding the diary itself together with how it is layered. So I'm not worried about it coming apart. The top page is the only one that is semi lose and is my own fault when I was using craft blade.

I did apply some binding glue plus wide washi-tape to cover up the spine. It lays flat now and so much more enjoyable to use with being tucked into the cover. I know it may not be pretty or prefect but for me it works and now I really love using it.

I hope you find this encouraging to do whatever you want with your own journals, planners, and diaries. I know it can be scary! but it needs to fit you and how you want to use it.

Some weekly layouts inside my Midori MD Diary B6 Slim that I use as my weekly planner / to-do list notebook. Feeling rather festive and used a variety of Christmas stickers from packs I picked up from "Little Craft Store" online.

They have one of the biggest selections of washi-tape and stickers I've ever seen online! A must check out for stationery junkies (lol!).

Been very much enjoying this B6 slim size and of course the Midori MD paper is always a dream to write on - it takes such a variety of inks and paints without bleeding or ghosting.
