god i love this cover so much, it isnt all that complex in terms of composition and there is very little happening but it does such a good job showcasing how different alters from the MK system behave, Mr. Knight laying down in this casual yet serious pose that shows hes still in business mode, Steven rubbing his head like he's listening and cares but also is unsure how to reply, Jake just casually sitting down while patiently listening, Moon Knight standing there with his hands on his hips looking annoyed like he would prefer to have been using that time to go and patrol on the streets and Marc on the corner crying while holding a gun?? pretty funny but i do also kinda love how hard that is leaning in on his early self pitying characterization from Doug Moench where he just couldn't stop hiding and trying to run from his mercenary past while never truly being able to

(also i know this run moved on from the reading you could have of the 2014 run where Mr. Knight is a fourth alter and MK himself hasn't really been an alter since Doug Moench days but a man can dream)

i found a copy of Moon Knight: Black, White & Blood on my local library recently and bought it cuz i hadn't read it yet and i was super excited at the idea of owning any copy of moon knight and turns out one of the short stories in here is what i think might just be the most ableist moon knight story that i have ever seen😭specially weird considering this book came out in 2022 but yeah The Empty Tomb? dogshit story if you ask me, if the volume interests you i would definitely recommend skipping that one specially if you are plural cuz its just blatantly weird and extremely ooc

i genuinely really needed this after these last comics i have read yall, i dont think i have brought that up yet but i started reading on MK with no reading order at all and have just been reading every single comic moon knight has ever appeared in i could find and let me tell you guys this has been such a gauntlet at times like oh my god if i had a coin for every time they mischaracterized marc as if he was the punisher or called him crazy or a schizo i would be fucking rich and this isnt just coming from comics written 40 years ago or its real recent stuff at times

got to the 2021 earlier today and i have just been having the time of my life, marc isn't being written painfully out of character, the mk system actually gets to the talk, no more mk being khonshu's lap dog like in age of khonshu and for once they get to have people around them again?? theres reese and soldier and their therapist and hunter's moon is so cool and i love his dynamic with marc and they live in a fucking haunted house that eats people we have never been so back

finally got around to the Bemis run and no amount of people talking about how bad this is could have mentally prepared me for this, it really just is that bad like genuinely i prefer the utterly incomprehensible plot of Marc Spector: Moon Knight's final arc over this there has never been a worse time to be a MK fan bros
