Being fans of Slow Magic’s first album Triangle released in 2012 which featured the incredible tune Corvette Cassette, we have been waiting anxiously for the release of a second album from Slow Magic and it has finally arrived!

QUANTIC - XOYO – 22.10.14

Quantic, AKA Will Holland is a Producer & DJ making Soulful Electronica Afro-Latino, Floor stomping funk & soul Caribbean beat music inundated with tropical sound waves. Tonight his set was no disappointment. XOYO was packed with a great crowd of people who enjoyed every moment of the gig. Showcasing his newest album Magnetica which was released this year,  features Alice Russel, Pongo Love, Lara Renno’ and many more.

Quantic has developed a sound that mixes tradition and progression. Impulsive musicianship with different genres .

I wish it hadn’t been a Wednesday night so we could have partied all night long.

Highly recommended and will go to another Quantic gig again soon I’m sure!

LOWLAKES - OLD BLUE LAST - 24.09.2014

'I'll never keep your cold cold company' It's Taken quite a while for me to get around to writing up this gig mainly because i have listened to the newest album 'Iceberg News' so many times that i was really looking forward to hearing Lowlakes live. Communion had released the tickets for free which i thought at the time was a bonus and I recommend this band to everyone.

Their music is 'Intimate, haunting, and swirling with atmospherics, Lowlakes’ music has a sense of the cinematic. Their marriage of shoegaze, alternative and dream-pop is dark with imagery of midnight, wintry landscapes- punctuated by bone-chilling waves of frontman Tom Snowdon’s voice'. Unfortunately i was wrong to be so pleased to get a free ticket, i could barely hear Tom's voice over all of the people talking in the gig, i have no idea why anyone would go to a gig to shout conversations between their friends and be as rude as to do so over musicians who obviously have talent and travel the world to showcase what they love and do as a passion (The Band are from Australia). It ruined the gig for me that there were so many ignorant people there, after songs people didn't even acknowledge the song had finished as they were to busy ignoring the music to notice how truly great this band is. I now stand firmly by the fact that gigs should not be free to keep out these idiots from ruining the experience of people who want to actually appreciate talented musicians and a hauntingly beautiful voice. I felt let down by the human race. Its been over a month and i still hold all this anger...

Anyway i am sure one day i will attend another gig where i can fully appreciate the beauty of this band in a room of people who actually appreciate music and aren't just Hipster pricks. I want to apologise to Lowlakes personally for the rude crowd on this night.

Looking forward to another Gig soon where i can appreciate it 100% - PLEASE PLAY GLASTONBURY!

ONLY GIRL, FEEL IT SINGLE LAUNCH - THE WAITING ROOM - 23.09.2014

Only Girl, aka Ellen Murphy released her first single 'Feel it' via Akira Records on 22.09.2014.

We have been BIG fans of this soulful R'n'B songstress from day one so we went down to the launch of her debut single 'Feel it'. In true form she silenced the room with her powerful voice and beautifully written songs.

Her set was enchanting and her voice was incredible. We can see her soon packing out venues with the crowd singing her songs straight back at her.

We caught up with Only Girl after the show and she was overwhelmed with the turn out and the response from the crowd, here's what she had to say:

'It was Amazing to Play to a packed out room full of people who have really got behind the single, it makes all the hard work completely worth it to have that sort of feedback from a crowd as that's the main reason I'm a singer - for that unbeatable feeling of being on stage'.
