The worst part about buying books from garage sales is sometimes they don't have the dust jackets.

My favorite book never had it, and now I have the rest of the series (in paperback, I wasn't able to get the hardcover 🥲), I kinda want the dust jacket for the first so they at least somewhat match?

Anyone else have the problem of losing dust jackets? Any idea how to solve it?

The thing that pisses me off most about the whole situation is that when thousands of children were being murdered and going through the most horrendous things anyone can go through, people turned a blind eye. When parents were pulling their babies bodies out of the ruins of their hones, they turned blind eye.

But 7 people from various predominantly white nations? Now they take it seriously. I'm not saying those deaths aren't tragic, they are and those 7 absolutely should be remembered and honored. But why did it take their deaths for a ceasefire to be called?

Why was it not called when the first hospital was bombed? Why was it not called when the first children were executed? Why was it not called at the very beginning?

White people (myself included) have the right to comfort, but that is something we absolutely have to stop hiding behind in these situations. I can turn off the TV, put my phone down, I can stop caring about the world around me because I was awarded that privilege. But they can't. The people of Palestine don't have that. Could you imagine if Isreal had done these things in the US or in Canada? There would be a damn uproar. But no, because it's not us, because it's the Middle East, the government drags their feet while millions die.

Fuck. It's 4 in the fucking morning. I'm happy for the ceasefire but I'm pissed it took so long and nothing I write feels coherent.

this morning the United Nations Human Rights Council voted on a resolution calling for a ban on arms sales to Israel and the resolution passed. two Israeli border points opened for aid routes (they were supposedly open? lmao), Biden is calling for an immediate ceasefire, last night was the first without air attacks on Gaza.. the killing of seven foreign aid workers shook the world apparently, but oh god how late. the journey to recognising genocide for some seems to avoid acknowledging the humanity of thousands of Palestinians who have been murdered
