Honestly I'd love to sit down with you and watch the whole thing, I've watched it several times and it just makes me happy. 14-15 hours (depending on if you include the movies as well) of One Piece being loved wholly.

Have you watched TotallyNotMark's blind reaction to One Piece videos? They felt so refreshing to me because he's unabashedly enthusiastic about everything and made me hyped for One Piece again after I hadn't touched it in a while. I can only imagine how they must feel to someone who's in the middle of their hype

Since you said One Piece should be everyone's second anime, I have a question. I'd really like for my brother to get into OP (because I like sharing things I love) but he's rather..... averse to anime in general. Added difficulty is that he doesn't really have time to do series (and hence prefers movies). So how would I go about it? Do I show him analysis videos to get him hooked? Throw the manga at him?

AH it doesn't have to be a second ANIME specifically, just a second... THING to get obsessed with LMAO if your brother is an avid movie goer he should understand more than anyone how pretty fantastic One Piece is in writing... hopefully HAHA honestly best bet is just to put on the anime with him and hope he takes his own path from there

Okay but Ace being pretty well behaved is probably the main reason he's supposed to get "redeemed". Some angels looked at this fucker and went "Oh he's strong. We could use him on our side. And he's not too horrible. Sabo, you're on his case now." and Sabo's response was just "Yes Sir" but then he saw Ace and oh no. Oh fuck he's hot. But I also can't be lenient with him. Better collar him to make sure I don't mess up"

Also some other angel squinting at Ace being nice and polite. "Why is he a demon again?" Cue Ace being unhinged "Oh that's why." Cue Sabo being unhinged "And why is he an angel again?"

Okay so while the angel Ace post had a very horny-angsty energy, here's an idea I got while reading through it. Demon Ace and Angel Sabo who is tasked to redeem Ace and uses his literal halo as a collar (plus leash) to keep Ace in check. (Roles can be switched if you want :3c)

Funnily enough tho, Ace is pretty well behaved by demon standards so people are like why the halo bondage and Ace points at Sabo with his raggedy wings one moreso than the other and his burn scars and his wild eyes with the divine light bursting through the seams of his scar tissue like he likes it

Mpreg angst!! That's an omegaverse one hah. Oh that one's a doozy. There's this alien AU I've had with a friend (before they blocked me without warning. I mean. What I sort of imagined when I sent this in was Luffy wanting to be part of the big cuddlepile (his two brothers and the big flaming bird guy? Sounds supert comfy, sign him up!) but they have to gently push him out of the door because the cuddlepile mostly occurs after (and before) unspeakable activites

What's so funny to me about AceSabo (and MAS if you want) is the utter exclusion of Luffy. Imagine him finding out his two brothers are dating (and also a third guy being there) and he goes "without me??? DDDD: " and someone has to gently tell him it's a bit more than just cuddles and soft kisses and he'd go "oh. nevermind". Also who tells him. How does he find out they're dating. The whole situation is just so absurdly funny

Okay, I hear you and I totally get it. So here's an idea. It's shown in a flashback. I've been going down the Crocoparent (any variant) rabbithole lately and there were mentions in some posts about how Crocodile's face was well publically known (or at the very least well known to the marines) before Luffy was born, raising the question that if he really only transitioned after Luffy's birth, how the public handled it and how no one is seemingly mentioning it.

So here's my theory/idea:

Since Iva knew him when he was young, Crocodile probably asked for a transition back then. He can use haki, but used in excess/without proper control is what forces the detransition. Which leads to the fight against Whitebeard. Crocodile's still young, perhaps a bit over his head or perhaps even a bit naive, but he's doing his best fighting that living legend. He's losing, badly. He's using more and more haki mixed with his sand, he's down a hand, he's bleeding from half his face and he overdoes it. Whitebeard stops attacking and Crocodile spits an insult at him, something like "too good to fight him as he is now", but Whitebeard responds with "Do you want to fight as you are now?". Something like that. Whitebeard lets Crocodile go and tells him to come back when he's stronger. Maybe even calls him "young lad" or "boy" to show he doesn't care.

Crocodile probably stops using haki for a while, or only uses it weakly, half because of the experience, half because Ivankov got captured and he has no easy way to turn back again. But then Marineford happens and suddenly he's free and knows he's lacking, having lost to Luffy and all. So now he has some time to train his haki, learn where the line is, how to push it (along with training his powers, of course).

And since we've been shown Crocodile's birth sex during the flashback, there's no real need for an "exposing" scene in the present. It may not be an elegant solution, but it can avoid most of the issues you mentioned, I think.

Question, why do you dislike the haki detransition theory for Crocodile? I think it would be interesting to see how he worked around not using haki and what kind of techniques he cooked up that way. Or maybe he only has to avoid using a certain type of haki?

It's less about the theory itself and more the potential story scenarios the theory could lead to that I dislike

Because if it was revealed in the story that Crocodile could use Haki but has actively been choosing not to because it would detransition him, then it could very likely lead to a scenario where Crocodile is forced to use Haki for some reason or another, thus he'd end up detransitioned. And I personally don't want to see that. I don't want to see Crocodile detransitioned against his will, nor put into a situation where he has to sacrifice his own comfort for any reason.

Like I don't know how to really explain it... For me it'd just rub me the wrong way the same way when ablebodied people celebrate it when disabled people in wheelchairs force themselves up to walk (say, to walk down the aisle) as if putting themselves into excruciating pain for a moment to appear """normal""" was a good thing Like obviously these are not the same thing and not actually comparable, I just can't think of anything else to compare it to explain why I don't want to see Croc detransitioned.

'Cause I can imagine, if Crocodile was forced to use Haki to, say, protect Luffy or some shit, there would be so many cishets who would celebrate it and treat it like it was a good thing. There'd be so many people saying shit like "Crocomom reveals her true form to heroicly save Luffy" or some shit (just going 1000% on the misgendering), and people would treat that kind of scene "a beautiful moment" instead of something that would (/should) be painful, humiliating and deeply uncomfortable for Crocodile. And I would fucking hate that. I would hate all of that so much. Not to mention, a scene like that could easily end up becoming the most memorable Crocodile moment in the series, and I don't want the trans man to end up being remembered as a woman. Not to mention Crocodile would then be STUCK detransitioned. Like the only way to retransition would be if he got another HRT shot from Ivankov, and between Iva-chan being on the other side of the Red Line (aka not accessible as of now), and them having zero obligation to help Sir Mass Murdering War Criminal retransition. Yeah. I don't want to watch him get humiliated and mocked for being trans. And the likelyhood he could be is absolutely mortifying.

And I know. Yes, even if the theory was true, it doesn't mean Crocodile would have to end up detransitioned in the story, it could just be there to explain why he can't use Haki and be left at that. I will argue that if you were going to make a plot point out of it, then it would be pointless if there weren't concequences for it. Like, it should lead to something. That's Writing 101. And the only other option then would be Crocodile refusing to use Haki for something and dying. Or him allowing someone else to end up hurt and/or die because he wouldn't be willing to sacrifice his comfort for their sake. Needless to say, both moves would end up being demonized to hell and back. The former for "being stupid and weak", the latter for being "selfish and evil". There would be no winning here. So in other words; Crocodile staying transitioned would end up as a selfish/evil action that would be looked down upon, while if he stopped being trans, that would be seen as a good thing to be celebrated. Need I explain why this would be fucked up.

So again, it's less the theory itself. It's where the theory could lead to (the Turbo Transphobia) that I dislike.

And the best way to avoid those horrible scenarios would be if the theory that allows them wasn't actually canon. If Crocodile can't be detransitioned permanently (without Iva-chan), then there's nothing to worry about.

Manga Monday #6

Today's manga: Liar Satsuki Can See Death

This one's a bit gorey. Obviously, the theme being death. Our protagonist can see corpses of people who'll die within 24 hours. Naturally, she does her best to keep the people she sees corpses of alive. Why 'Liar' Satsuki though? Since she's honest to a fault and can't lie to save her life, she keeps telling people "you'll die tomorrow" and since no one dies (due to her efforts), she's the girl who cried wolf. Depending on where you look, this manga is also tagged as girl's love, and while nothing major has happened so far, there are certainly hints of it. Looking at the author's previous works, it might just happen. It's a bit difficult to tell. Anyway, please read about Satsuki and her earnest struggle to keep people alive in a world where everyone dies a little too easily.

Manga Monday #5

Today's manga: Shiawase Kanako No Koroshiya Seikatsu

What's SKNKS about? Oh, you know, just your average office lady quitting her old job and joining an assassination company instead. Why assassination? Because the work benefits were really good. As it turns out, Kanako has a surprising talent for killing people. So what makes this manga so special? It's a comedy. A 4-koma even. There's no gore (maybe a little blood) and Kanako has a habit of making cute animal puns in her mind. We even get to see some proper character development and plot, all still presented in 4-koma format. You'll fall in love with Kanako's humor and sweat with her when she ends up overthinking again. It's cute and lighthearted, but not completely carefree.

Aaaaaaaaaaaah it's so beautiful!!! I love when they're soft together and Apollo's cute little face hfoiseOGwelh who allowed him to look that cute? And Klavier's expression? He's so smitten. I'm in love. Every little detail about this is just -chef's kiss-. The way Apollo grips Klavier's shoulder. His focussed expression. How he presses his lips together. How he keeps all his attention on the guitar, doing his best, when Klavier just wants to flirt. I'm such a sucker for them. Also that's *totally* how you learn guitar haha
