You remember that post about the homestuck t-shirt design contest collaborating with hot topic? And how Hot Topic are the biggest art thieves?  This is recent.  As you can see above, I stumbled upon Hot Topic’s website and they are selling a very popular fan art put on a t-shirt, and did not ask permission from the original artist (rismo).

This shows Hot Topic still continues their art thievery.  Hot Topic are still taking art from artists without their permission.  This is disrespectful and appalling.

your timeline shows posts/boosts from people you followed, in chronological order

no ads

custom emoji

per-post privacy settings so you can follower-lock specific posts

require manual approval on followers if you want

make lists of different people you follow that only you can see, so you can follow different timelines without people knowing you put them on your ‘tech bros’ list

search only works on hashtags so randos can’t search keywords to pick fights

built-in blacklist/filter

built-in cw/spoiler feature to hide posts until clicked

built-in ‘sensitive content’ button to hide specific images until clicked

you can choose to have all images hidden by default if you don’t trust like that

built-in image captioning feature for image descriptions that doesn’t count toward the character limit

admins can say ‘that place is full of trolls and we don’t want to talk to them’ which means jackasses can have their own shitty site and you never have to worry they’ll find you

if you really hate kpop even though there’s nothing technically wrong with the kpop instance you can personally block that whole site and everyone on it without getting the admins involved

if you change your mind about where you made your account it’s p easy to export all your follow lists, etc, and move somewhere else you like better (lots of people do this all the time)

if you decide you don’t trust any authority except your own you can make your own instance and be your own boss and post whatever you want, while still being able to interact with all the people on other sites who think you’re cool
