Snamione Headcanons

Since today is the day of Favorite Severus Ship, here are also some of my OTP’s headcanons:

Severus totally falls for her first. Of course he denies it, and refuses to acknowledge it. But he falls for her upon her first visit to his house when she sees his small library and immediately grabs his favorite book, proclaiming it to be her own.

Hermione admits her feelings first.

Hermione makes almost every move first.

When they becomes friends, it was because she reached out at a gathering that Harry had invited Severus to.

Severus actually was refusing to make a move, because he was pretty sure she’d reject him.

Their feelings were pretty obvious to anyone who saw them together, though neither one of them suspected about the other.

Later, after becoming friends, she’s the first one to kiss. They’re at one of the bookshelves in his home, arguing over which of their current reads was better when they end up a few inches from each other. She simply closed the gap and kissed him without thinking about it.

In that moment he actually melted. He kissed her back and was unable to hold back his feelings.

About a week later, he asked her out.

Their first official date was actually at his home where he cooked dinner and made desert. You cannot convince me that it was anything other than tiramisu.

Hermione tells Harry first, because he really is like a brother to her.

Harry surprises her by actually be supportive (though it’s pretty clear he’s uncomfortable with it).

Hermione takes the lead in all physical advancements. In part because Severus is slightly insecure about her in that way (he’s convinced that she’ll reject him) and in part because he realizes he used to hold power over her, and he doesn’t want to cross any lines.

Hermione says “I love you” first, though by accident. Just like with the kiss, it just slips out.

Severus decides in that moment he is going to marry her, but it takes him about a year to propose.

They have a small wedding. Friends and family, which basically includes the staff of Hogwarts, Harry, the Weasleys, Neville and Luna, and Hermione’s parents.

Her parents don’t seem to care, because they see how happy Hermione is.

Okay, her father cares a lot. He’s furious at first. But he sees that his daughter is clearly in love, and Severus is clearly conflicted, but is treating his daughter right, so he eventually accepts it.

They get pregnant very shortly after getting married.

Severus doesn’t take the news well at all. In fact, he disappears for a day, before Hermione hunts him down and lectures him.

He thinks he’d be a horrible father because of his own father and the way he had been as a teacher.

He’s wrong.

Not just wrong, but gloriously wrong.

It all changes after he hears the heart beat.

Hermione sees a muggleborn midwife, who uses muggle and wizard techniques.

After hearing the heartbeat, Severus softens.

Hermione wakes up one night, but doesn’t move when she feels Severus kissing her stomach. He’s murmuring, and she knows he’s accepted it.

He still doesn’t take the next 3 pregnancies well at first. But he caves each time. He also does much better than the first.

Hermione catches him in the nursery frequently.

Severus also enjoys whenever he can make an innuendo around Ron or Harry, just to see them squirm.
