I don't know if it was Falling itself, or just the trauma of everything, but I had mostly suppressed the memory of how I actually arrived in Kalos. All I got were occasional flashes, and the nightmares that, looking back now, were trying to show me what I had forgotten or subconsciously pushed away. I had to hear the full story from Twilight, and it was... it was a lot.

I... I don't know. I don't... I haven't really.......... What does hating someone feel like?

I know that I do... dislike... Tirek, and what he did to my friends and I... and maybe others after us. Probably others after us. I think it's wrong, and dare I say... unforgivable?

I can forgive a lot. It was me who Celestia personally assigned to make friends with Discord of all people, the one who not even a year before had rained chaos across Equestria, stolen our primary magical defenses, and threatened to become a tyrant as he once had been long ago. I was able to reach out to him, despite everything he'd done, and he became an ally and a friend.

Tirek murdered him too. Discord was with us at the end, stripped of his powers, right there in a bubble next to mine.

My friends and I had fought threats to Equestria before. Not just Discord, there was Nightmare Moon, and Sombra, and the Changeling Queen... but they were all different. They had goals, things they wanted, whether that was love and admiration, or to enslave ponies, or to feed off others' emotions. But Tirek... the only thing he wanted was to consume and to destroy. A completely different kind of threat, and we weren't prepared. I don't blame Twilight for thinking she could reason with him. I would have done the same, because until then, all our enemies had been reasonable.

I don't understand him, and I don't think I ever will. I don't even know if he hates us. He probably doesn't think of ponies at all except as a means to acquire more magic for himself, and that's worse. So I... I just don't really know what I feel, because hating someone isn't something I've done before?

I think... I think, if I had the means to kill Tirek, I'd do it. I don't think I'd try to talk or reason first.

Alright, I guess I'll ask... Actually, let me just hand off the holocaster to Arden, she's got hands and can type an answer better than me relaying everything through speech to text.

I don't think I'm supposed to know what a lesbattle is... but I do. I didn't learn it from Professor Sycamore, just from some of the older pokemon that hung out at his lab before he told me he had a trainer I could go with.

It's basically just what it sounds like. Two pokemon get together, without trainers involved, and... see who's better at doing lesbianisms to each other. I've never competed in one and probably won't for a good while yet (though Osha? especially if she were to mega evolve?👀). Anyway it's mostly a thing for fully evolved pokemon, so... just give me a while, and maybe I'll have more info for you someday!

"Pokemon who don't have any egg groups in common can still fuck too, they just don't produce eggs from it! Unless something weird happens of course, which it does sometimes. Biology do be like that, so always use protection.

...Just thought you'd want to know. Hi, pokemon from a world without humans here! You were actually more right than you think, comparing egg groups to types. As a malamar, I tend to do pretty well in my lesbattles anyway, but here's a copy of the chart I use to check the matchups beforehand."

The attached chart shows a 15 by 15 grid of egg groups, with the intersections marked with either nothing, "2", or "1/2", with an occasional "0" for a few combinations.

I don't think I have any followup questions at this time. I'm just going to... forward this to Twilight, I think... and maybe her scientist friends can tell whether all this really applies to the Kalos we're in.

Aww, thanks so much! I wish I'd stayed in Geosenge Town another day now, so I could share some of this with Twilight.

It reminds of this noodle place in Canterlot that my friends and I all visited once. Haven't seen anything like it here in Kalos so far, but the noodles are so tasty... Kind of spicy though. Maybe a bit much, really.

Some? I thought every pokemon could change gender, just like every pony and (I think) every human can? My starter pokemon Arden told me she was trans when I first got her from the Professor.

And if all goes well here, I should hopefully be able to talk to a legendary at some point! My friend Twilight is working with a local team to find Xerneas, and the internet says they're "gender unknown" so I'm sure there's plenty I can ask about and try to understand better and then pass that knowledge on for everyone.

Followup question about egg groups and unusual pairings of pokemon, now that some kind people have given me a little bit of background knowledge:

I've noticed that this world has significantly more advanced technology in many regards than what was available back in Equestria. And even there, it was possible – using magic – for ponies to have foals where both parents were mares. Similar spells were used to help particularly rare animals survive. Is there some means of making this happen with two female pokemon as well? And in that case, if the parents are different species, what does the offspring look like?

Thank you, I am absolutely taking notes! So these "egg groups" are like types then, almost? Where a pokemon can have either one or two, but no more, but instead of affecting how the pokemon interact with each other via battling moves, it affects their genetic compatibility...

Interesting! It certainly challenges the Equestrian notion of what a "species" even is, particularly given the dual egg group pokemon like wailord. But then, that's already a fairly odd situation coming from my world already, just because of evolution...

It really just goes to show how no matter how visually similar animals may look between two worlds, you really can't assume they work at all the same way. It's rather startling, yet intriguing at the same time and I want to learn everything I can. These pokemon are what I'll be seeing and caring for here, and I highly doubt I can ever go back home, so it makes sense to learn how they work!

I'm sorry, I can't help it... Rarity literally did get me a modeling career once and supposedly I was good at it, I just couldn't take all the stress and the constant photos so I quit and went back to my animals. I don't want my sexiness to be the death of anyone!

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that I'm finally leaving this awful, haunted Geosenge Town, and moving on down the main road toward Shalour City! I am very happy to be out of this place and away from those weird standing stones, and definitely happy to be moving away from whatever it is Osha seems so worked up about.

The bad news is that Twilight is staying behind, at least for a little while. She and Lysandre have research to do, apparently. He showed up at our hotel room this morning and told Twilight he had very good news and needed to show her something, and they left together for some lab or something he's got in town.

Twilight does have her own holocaster, so we can still talk and I'm pretty sure she's also logged into this same rotomblr account... but she won't be right at my side on Route 11. She's assured me that she'll catch up as soon as she can, though, and she doesn't mind me going ahead since I can't stand staying here any longer.

So, out I go, I suppose! With my new team of five pokemon now!

That's a pika! They eat plants, not dirt. And they're so adorable, the pictures just don't do them justice, you can't comprehend how cute they are until you end up with a whole nest of them in your house for a week because they all got sick and you're treating them and they're oh so snuggly and round and warm and fluffy... ohhhh I love my pokemon but I do so miss all my animals back home...
