Basically I had a shower theory about negative self-esteem and it seemed profound at the time

I'm pretty sure it happens in stages or segments like the five stages of grief (and varies accordingly)

I'm workshopping names but like, basically-

Deterioration (where the self-esteem is in some way reduced or damaged)

Deflection (wherein a person attempts to create distance between oneself and the threat of others perceiving their low self-esteem via defense mechanisms like a false ego/pride or self-deprecation)

Realization/discovery (wherein the person becomes aware of their own behaviors)

Disillusioning (wherein a person's low self-esteem no longer serves an emotional purpose or, for a lack of better words, they get bored of being insecure)

Recovery (wherein a person abandons, forgets, or otherwise overcomes low self-esteem)

Hey can anyone who sees this reblog or reply and tell me, in as much detail as you're comfortable sharing, how your self-esteem has changed over the years, and the feelings you felt at different points as your self-esteem changed? I'm developing a theory and I want to see if I'm missing anything.
