Hey. It's been a while...and by a while, I mean almost 4 months. I've been pretty busy, so I haven't exactly worked on my GO AUs (tbh I've lost a bit of motivation on a lot of my projects). That doesn't mean I'll never come back to them. So here are some WIP's for PokéOmens. The Gymleaders types (and my reasons for those types) are:

Gabriel - Normal: He could have been Psychic, but I felt that fit one of the other angels more. Also, the Jim arc made me think of Norman from Gen 3 (and I couldn't help but make him resemble Larry from the most recent gen).

Beelzebub - Bug: This doesn't need explaining. The other choices could have fit, but...c'mon. Bug is just perfect.

Muriel - Electric: Every time I think of Muriel, The Spark of Creation (from Children of Eden) starts playing in my head. The energy they exude is infectious to me and lended a hand on choosing the type. Not to mention, other "spark of" phrases just make me think of them, especially 'spark of curiosity'.

Eric - Dark: Second to Normal, Dark is one of the fluffiest types in Pokemon. When I see Eric in a scene, all I can think is, "Hey, how cozy is that scarf?" Just kidding. It was mainly that I didn't see other types fitting him more than Dark.

I just got back from a funeral for an old teacher of mine, and realized, "Shit! I didn't make anything for the announcement of season 3!"

However, I still have my older PokéOmens art that I wanted to show, so in celebration, I'll post some old photos and a couple of WIPs.

I am very grateful for this fandom and for the sparks of joy and creativity it gives me.

Hi humans! I'm alive. :)

Sorry that I haven't really posted for the past couple of weeks! I've been a bit busy with my family and a show I'm performing in for the next two weekends. That doesn't mean I haven't entirely left PokéOmens out to dry. Most of Gabriel and his team has been drawn, and I'm scheming on outfit designs for Beelze and Muriel (BTW I'm excited for them). Just because it's been a hot minute, I will say this:

The majority win was right about Beelzebub, but not Gabriel.

I won't post for the next two weeks again, but I'll be working on finishing them as much as I can.

PokéOmens! Gym Leader 2: Anthony J. Crowley

I don't know why it took so long to post him, but here he is! In the flesh! Your Grass gymleader! I'm so sorry to the 79.5% who guessed the other likely choices. A good chunk of you are probably wondering, "Why isn't he a dark type gymleader? Isn't he the dark duke?" or "He's literally fireproof! He makes the stars, which are burning gasses of light! Why no fire?!"

Well, let's talk about him!

Back in 2019 (yes, 2019), I wanted to do PokeOmens, but instead of the GO cast being Gym Leaders, they were all Pokémon. Aziraphale was a Rowlett and Crowley was (originally) a Litten...that was until I saw a post from @speremint on her Instagram. She made Pokémon teams for both and gave Crowley a Snivy (if anyone knows what picture I'm talking about, hats off to you). From that day forward, I couldn't see him with a fire type team. Sure, he made the stars back in the day, but that was his past, not his present. He's resistant to fire, but he's scared that'll take away the things he loves. He is the dark duke, but that's a title, not him.

Mr. Crowley isn't just a gymleader. His gym works as a Grass Pokémon sanctuary for nurturing and training stray Pokémon, but he says that he does to rid fluctuating stray population in the region. The only downside is that some people don't have a keen eye and just give him anything that's green. A couple of those mishaps actually went to his partner roommate. His outfit (a mixture between Crowley's pub attire in the second episode of Season 2 and Cassius from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet) was created by his lovely friend who thought maroon would be a lovely accent color. "It's a bit purplish, right?" No, Azira. It is not.

Meet Anthony's adopted Care Team! (Created by my partner in crime)

Centi the Minior - Wait...that's not a grass type. Well, Anthony doesn't care. He's had Centi for as long as he can remember, and if other gym leaders have a problem with that, they can shove it. Besides, who else is going to nap with him when the grass Pokémon are sunbathing?

Duke the Serperior - He was Crowley's first grass type experience. Through trial and many errors, Anthony made him into a lightning quick attacker...and a bit of a spoiled brat. If Duke wasn't at the center of his trainer's attention or if another Pokémon were to invade his space by a hair, he would throw a hissy fit. Thank goodness he has Duchess to calm him down.

Duchess the Liligant - After spoiling Duke, Crowley felt it would be affective if he went in harsher direction for the next Pokémon. Thankfully, it didn't last after the first day. Poor thing was scared out of her wits. To make up for it, her trainer apologized with a little dance. She didn't know what it meant, but it did make her like him. In fact, she uses it to cheer up the sanctuary occupants, especially Duke.

Spike the Cacturne - The third time's a charm, right? Yes...and no. You see, Spike was trained properly compared to the other grass Pokémon and is quite great when battling, but Crowley never helped with her temperament. She's a fighter, not a lover. Honestly, she's barely even a tolerator. It's a good thing she only deals with training others and not caring. That's Stripe's job.

Stripe the Lurantis - He is the most caring and efficient when it comes to assisting Anthony with the nurture the sick, young and injured Pokémon. Stripe is practically harmless, and as much as his trainer dislikes that, his pacifism always wins people over.

Prickles the Maractus - While walking to his gym, Crowley spotted a box at the door. It read, "KEEP HIM PLEASE!" And he did. It's not his fault he pricks others and has a curious mind. He just needs someone who can teach him to be careful...if only it wasn't the spiky, scary one. Eh, he'll be fine.

Muriel's playlist hints at Ineffable Juniors?

(This is all in good fun and is just my opinion. You don't have to agree, but please stay and read.)

I know a lot of people have analyzed the living crap out of Aziraphale's and Crowley's playlists, but I really just want to ask if anyone ever wondered about why Muriel received these three songs?

The creators of the playlist knew that other feel-good, peppy songs that start their songs with the letter E and L exist, but they picked three songs that deal with love? All that does to me is make me think that Ineffable Juniors (Muriel x Eric) is in the realm of possibility and not just a crack ship.

Let me just get 'Everyday' out the way. (I'll be more in depth lyrically with the other two, but EVERYONE in this fandom has Everyday practically memorized. I'm just saving time and space.) 'Everyday' is the main song of the S2. It is the clue. It is the jumpstart of Ineffable Bureaucracy's relationship. It is THEIR song of love. It wouldn't make sense for them not to have it in their playlist, but why does Muriel have it? Of all the other characters who are in love, why does Muriel have to be the one to receive this song as well? They deal with concept of love, but they don't truly understand it (if they did why would they need to 'learn' from Aziraphale and Crowley). This wouldn't make sense unless this is more of a hint at Muriel's (possible) future storyline: befriending or falling in love with a demon (likely Eric). 'Everyday' is important because it helped blossom a very unlikely relationship between an angel (Gabriel) and a demon (Beelzebub). For Muriel to have that in their playlist in that context pushes their narrative in that direction, and it doesn't help that the other two songs are just pushing it further.

'Ain't No Mountain High Enough' (shortening to ANMHE for my typing sanity) is a classic love song sung by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. It brings this idea of being invincible while traversing (or willing to traverse) through any terrain to get to the one you love. This is driven home by the first and third verses along with the repeating chorus of the song:

(First) If you need me, call me

No matter where you are

No matter how far (don't worry, baby)

Just call my name

I'll be there in a hurry

You don't have to worry

'Cause baby there

(Third verse) Oh no, darling

No wind, no rain

Or winters cold

Can't stop me baby

No, no baby

'Cause your are my goal

If you're ever in trouble

I'll be there on the double

Just send for me

Oh, baby

(Chorus) Ain't no mountain high enough

Ain't no valley low enough

Ain't no river wide enough

To keep me from getting to you, baby

What I think is interesting is second and last verse because you get to see the relationship of the two people in the song (the couple singing to each other). In the second verse, it's revealed that the two of them are loving/binding relationship by recounting a day that defined their relationship.

Remember the day

I set you free

I told you

You could always count on me darling

From that day on I made a vow

I'll be there when you want me

Someway, somehow

Then the last verse brings up the fact that two are now separated but are still in love and WILL go through anything to get back to the other if they're ever needed.

My love is alive

Way down in my heart

Although we are miles apart

If you ever need a helping hand

I'll be there on the double

Just as fast as I can

I could easily say that this could allude to Muriel having a strained or forbidden relationship with a character, yet something else was brought to my attention. ANMHE tells about a pair who is separated after making a connection/promise to one another while still having romantic feelings, but if one were to be in trouble, the other would surely come to the rescue? I don't know about you guys, but that sounds a lot like our other angel/demon couple, the Ineffable Husbands. Now, we have two songs defining both of our canon angel/demon relationships in a playlist for an angel who hasn't even experienced falling/being in love yet, but this final song clenches everything for me.

Every Summertime by Niki is the song that TRULY made me believe in the idea of Ineffable Juniors. I have played it several times and every time I do, I see Muriel and Eric. Let's begin with the first verse:

18, we were undergrads

Stayed out late, never made it to class,

Outer Richmond in a taxi cab

You were sweating bullets on the way to my dad's and oh

You said, "Baby, think we're moving too fast"

The very beginning gives an image of two students (underlings: 37th Scrivner and lesser demon) who are together (in a buddy/soft couple way), but incompetent (Muriel not understanding certain concepts thus proceeding to mess things up and Eric constantly questioning things while also being a punching bag and cowardly). It's only the first two lines and it already screams Ineffable Juniors. The last two lines give scenarios that could likely happen. Eric would be the one nervous from the idea of meeting Muriel's parental figures superior Aziraphale and his demon husband Crowely. Then comes the statement of "moving too fast." Of course the first thing that comes to mind is the 1967 scene in S1, "You go to fast for me, Crowley", yet in the eyes of our juniors, it would be in Eric's character (having more cowardice and less time to plan ahead) to say that if Muriel wanted to be closer. Then there's this imagery of how one would realize their feelings for someone is becoming more than platonic:

And I swear the magnolias flashed a smile

And that's when I caught me hoping you'd stay a while

I will say that second verse is more of "They're growing closer after a while" more than picturing scenarios like the previous verses.

25, man we're missing church

Laugh 'bout everyone we're hating at work

Dinner with your sister and the jokes kinda hurt

Cry the way home, and you're putting me first, oh

Yeah, we just always know what to say

Then we get these lines:

We're strolling down the boulevard

And dancing under streetlights

Every year we get older, and I'm still on your side

Taking a stroll? Dancing? Being on a side with your partner? This, AGAIN, creates connections to Bureaucracy and Husbands, but the couple in the song portray these actions in a setting for younger, impressionable people, hmmmm... like the Juniors? Let's just finish off with the chorus and outro.

(Chorus) Baby, I'd give up anything to travel inside your mind

Baby, I fall in love again come every summertime

My daddy taught me to choose 'em wisely, but you don't have to try

'Cause, baby, I fall in love every summertime

(Outro) Every day is summertime

Every day is summertime

Every day is summertime with you

Questions that I think about when it comes to the Juniors are "if they fell in love or became close friends, how would Aziraphale and Crowley react? Would they be happy for them, or would they try to stop them from going any further out of fear for their safety?" With what happen at the end of the season, I'm personally think it's the later, but then that brought an additional question. "If Muriel was told to stop meeting Eric, would they?" No. The third line of the chorus reminded me how Muriel knew Aziraphale and Crowley were the enemy and yet they still gave unbiased trust and compassion towards them. A low rank angel who is supposed to take every order willingly decided that the enemy is their friend that they can ask questions to. When you start to apply the first, second and last line of the chorus, along with the outro, it draws a picture of a person so smitten with their partner that every time they're with them, they fall in love all over again, so they're willing to disregard the opinions of others just to be with their other half. Muriel seeing both angel/demon couples existing in the same room in S2E6 feeds my thoughts with the image of Muriel, who may or may not know that Eric is a demon (they never met him, and they also didn't know that Crowley was a demon), proceeding to be around him even after being told not to by Aziraphale. If it was worth it for the others, it could be worth it for me.

I could be reaching with some of my claims, so I'll just continue until I reach the moon. However, it is possible for all three songs to be thrown in the playlist for fun, I mean it does have "Get Lucky" and "Everything is Awesome". I'm just a sucker for Ineffable Juniors. I don't care if they don't end up together or anything, but they have to meet at least once as another example of an angel and demon being able to get along. Stories are always played out in threes. Why can't they be the third?

Welcome to PokéOmens! Gym Leader 1: Azira Fell

I'm SUPER happy to start off this little Pokémon AU I created with my partner's help. Each gym leader and Pokémon team are crafted with inspiration from the show as well as some small head cannons we enjoyed or came up with. I'm only drawing 6 of the 18 gym leaders (you probably know which 6 I'm thinking of). If I have time, I'll draw a couple more, but keep in mind that there are 18 types and I'm very slow with my process. If someone would like to draw some of the leaders I don't get to, by all means do it. I'll post a list of all of the gym leaders and their teams after the I post the sixth leader.

Now that's out of the way, let's talk about Mr. Fell!

When I initially brought up the idea of this to my boyfriend, I IMMEDIATELY said that Aziraphale would be a fairy type trainer. If you were to glance at all of the fairy type Pokémon, the majority of them would give off "soft" energy. Not to mention, the fairy typing gives off an air of magic, which of course works with Mr. Fell.

Most days, he would be a humble book seller, but once a month, he performs his duty as a gym leader...well, after he gives his breath-taking performance with his wonderous team. His lovely outfit (which is of course based on his magician outfit in S2E4) was crafted by himself, yet the choice of making his suit purple (even though he wasn't a fan of the color) was from an old friend of his, thinking the purple would be a flattering color considering he made the vest and cape before having a single idea for the suit.

Meet Mr. Fell's lovely assistants!

Lucky the Sylveon - He was the first Pokémon Azira ever received. When he was found as an Eevee, his trainer noticed that he had a large tear on his right ear that didn't heal properly, so Azira tied a small bow to hopefully mend it. However, instead of later taking it off, the young Lucky kept it as a gift from his trainer, which inspired Azira to match with his Eevee when performing. He's often playful and brings most of whoever he is in contact with good luck (hence the name).

Harry the Azumarill - As the second oldest, Harry brings a slight maturity to the group...just kidding, she's just as rambunctious as Lucky with just a bit more bounce and sass. If you are wondering, Harry is short for Harriet (and wasn't short for Harold. Azira definitely noticed she was a girl when he first met her.)

Reginald the Gardevoir - For a creature called the Embrace Pokémon, he isn't exactly touchy-feely. Coming into the team as a Kirlia, Reginald was very to himself until he started performing in the magic shows. As corny as his trainer is, he does care for him...until Azira tries to saw him in half.

Pear the Alcremie - She isn't much of a performing Pokémon anymore. She used to when she was a Milcrey, but after she evolved, she kind of mellowed out and became a bit sluggish. Azira didn't mind though. He needed a 'biscuits and tea' kind of companion on slow days at the shop (which is every day).

Bo the Floette - Considered the youngest of the team, Bo brings an air of wonder and naivete to each performance. This petite Pokémon often gravitates to the tallest of the group as a mentor, much to his "displeasure".

Arthur the Klefki - 'A ball of panic' is an accurate description for this poor thing. His trainer doesn't remember how he came to be. Was he a gift? Did he catch him? Who knows. All Azira has to know is that his little buddy has his back and keeps him from straying his schedule...and remembers his keys.

My bf and I had this random discussion about which angel and demon would be a gymleader of what typing which evolved into us creating teams and themes for most of the notable angels and demons from both seasons (because it totaled to 16 angels and demons, there are two humans who received gymleader status).

The first gymleader of PokéOmens will be sometime tomorrow.
