I am happy to introduce to you Prof. Dr. Rostislav Yovchev – an acclaimed pianist with an extensive repertoire and great skill, who is also an estimable professor in the National Academy of Music.  
Background information
Born in 1961 in the city of Sofia, Bulgaria, Rostislav Yovchev took up the piano at the age of 6, and then continued his studies at the National School of Music in the class of Lyudmila Stoyanova. Afterwards, he graduated from the National Academy of Music in the class of Prof. Atanas Kurtev, which he followed up with a two-year long piano master class. In 1992-93, Rostislav Yovchev began with a postgraduate study in piano performance (in particular, in the area of the piano concerto) chamber music and accompaniment at the Royal Academy of Music, Brussels. In June 2013, he received a doctoral degree in Bulgarian clavier music “Pancho Vladigerov”.
From 2002 to 2004, he taught piano at the Institut Supérieur de Musique, Tunisia. 
Rostislav Yovchev is currently a piano professor at the National Music Academy “Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia, and a Head of the Department – “Piano” in the faculty of Theory, Composition and Conducting.
He has been actively giving concerts not only in Bulgaria, but also all around the world -- in South Korea, Tunisia, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Cyprus, Turkey etc.
Rostislav Yovchev is a regular participant at many prestigious Bulgarian music festivals such as “Sofiiski muzikalni sedmitsi” (Sofia Music Weeks), “Varnensko lyato” (Varna Summer), “Apolonia” etc. He has also been on jury judging performances at national piano competitions such as: “Sv. Obretenov”, “Classical and Contemporary”, “Liszt – Bartok”, “Andrei Stoyanov”, “Great Teachers”.
In addition, he conducts master classes Bulgaria, Korea, Romania, Turkey and Italy.
Prof. Yovchev has also made numerous recordings for the radio stations of Sofia (Bulgarian National Radio), Warsaw, Berlin, Zaragoza. In addition, he has released compact discs with both solo performances, and with collaborations with musicians such as Ventsislav Nikolov (cello), Ina Georgieva (flute), Yo Yangde (clarinet), Bediz Kanikli (viola).
Prof. Yovchev is also winner of the “Crystal Lyre” of the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers in two categories: “Instrumentalists” and “Music critic” for 2011 and the “Golden Lyre”.
What is happening now?
  Prof. Yovchev is currently working on a few very interesting recitals.
