I have mixed feelings on swap AUs because on one hand there’s SO MUCH POTENTIAL to explore how the characters being placed in different roles would affect the characters as we know them in canon.

For example, how would it affect Papyrus, who’s passionate but gets overwhelmed when there’s too much to keep track of but doesn’t tell anyone (as shown in the Papyrus ending), if he were a member of a royal guard PLUS a secret scientist PLUS super popular among the other monsters? How would it affect Sans, who has depression but hides it behind comedy and takes advantage of his popularity to make extra money, to be unemployed aside from being in training to be a royal guard (at the suggestion of Papyrus, probably) and not have his fans?

But on the other hand people treat it as just “switch the personalities so it’s basically like canon but with different designs and names” when there’s! so much more potential!!

I think I am the way I am partially because my first ever big video game with a story was Super Paper Mario. The narrative is kickass but honestly more than anything I haven't seen many examples that come close to how visually coherent Super Paper Mario is. The amount of geometric shapes in the art direction of the game really drives home how many characters could only exist in 2D, which really drives home the ability to swap to 3D!!!! It's so cool!!! and all the weird equations in the sky and the bizarre (even for Mario standards) enemy designs and the way each world seems to have a unique pattern to the way the world layout is stylized.....its absolutely incredible

I'll be real the second any trans person shows up on my dash making any kind of post generalizing transmasc or transfemme people negatively i check out. literally don't care if the evil trans woman or evil trans man said something upsetting to you or you've had bad experiences with a particular group of people; the generalization shit is lame, being defensive about it is lame, you are literally smarter than this - stop, reflect, take some deep breaths, go do something else
