This is a good chance to say what I need! I need a picture of your character (ideally in portrait, not landscape (you can rotate the camera 90 degrees using the in-game gpose widget)) that has enough room above the head to allow for the title line. It can be of any mood or tone, but it has to be SFW enough to play at a public MTG setting. I'll also need to know a one-word name I can add to the title line - for example, "Shio, the Hero".

I can attempt to help facilitate this if need be! Please reach out, in DMs here or on Discord, and I'll gladly include your character!

(When The Chips Are Down, from the musical Hadestown (everybody should go listen to hadestown it's great))

"My daughter, a heretic? Of what do you speak?"

Leaning against the wall outside her father's study, Taraine sighs quietly, the conversation inside filtering through the door.

"The charges will be iron-clad, ser. You see, Taraine was seen with heretical texts that she was ordered to burn. I saw, with my own eyes, her passing them on to known heretics. Because of our years of friendship, I am here to give you a chance to disavow her before these charges are entered into Church record."

Sighing, and knowing that her father will swing the axe himself for the charge of heresy, Taraine stands straight. Hefting the heavy wooden beam with a muffled grunt of effort, the knight - the heretic - bars the door. Pulling an oilskin bag from her pack, she upends it - the fire-aspected crystalline sand within quickly causing the wood to catch.

Striding out of the corridor, she frowns to herself, brow deeply furrowed.

Tioman was right. The See does not care about its people. When the chips are down, I'm just... disposable.

Scowling as she brushes past the outsiders - and scaled ones, at that - Taraine takes her place at the table where two of her fellow knights await her.

“Tara!” the taller greets her, “It’s been too long. I’ve not seen you here for weeks. Did you find some other hole to drink this swill in?” Sitting on the stool, kicking her feet up onto the cheap wood, she scoffs, waving at the barkeep to bring her the usual. “No. But I’ve had my hands full of late - Raising a new hoarhound.” Leaning forward across from her, Ser Adelphel speaks up, his youthful face full of curiosity. “Oh? I did not think new hoarhounds had been littered yet. Where did you get a new one?” Sneering at the baby-faced sycophant, Taraine takes the drink from the servant who brings it to her and knocks it back, making a face at the cheap wine. “I have my sources. Not the best pedigree, though. Runty little thing. Might make a decent breeding bitch given some time, but that’s about it. Trains nicely, though.”

Booming a laugh, the larger Elezen across from her slaps his knee. “You seem to have such a knack for training hounds. Surprised that they don’t all flee at the sight of your face, Tara.” Snorting and shaking her head, she finishes her drink and waves for another from the waitstaff. “I’m not a great ugly bull like you.” Cutting the two other knights off before they come to blows, Ser Adelphel speaks up again. “So what’s the name of the new hound?”

A smile curls her lips as she receives her second drink, glancing over it to the young member of the Heavens’ Ward. “I’ve named her Princess. And she seems to have taken to the epithet quite well.”

"So this is the outfit you chose? It is... An interesting set of attire," Taraine murmurs, examining the pile of cloth.

"Put it on, savage," Vergilia teases playfully. "You'll look stunning in it, and it's not like you're allowed to wear armour here anyway."

"I suppose. This is really business attire? Seems... Flimsy."

Vergilia laughs as she pulls her shoe on. "It is flimsy. Meetings in civlised countries don't include swords and breastplates as their dress code. Flimsy and attractive cloth is supposed to be the way. So just trust me, okay?" Sighing, Taraine stands, adjusting the buttons on her new top. "Trust you? A Garlean? Perish the thought," she teases back. "Anyway. How long are we here for?" "I don't know. The Forum wanted to speak to me, as an ex-Legatus, about something. Will you be able to find something to do for the day while I'm speaking to the Forum?" Cocking her hip to the side, Taraine tosses her hair, smirking confidently. "I can entertain myself. Linkpearl me when the meeting is over, I'm supposed to guard you the entire time outside of the meeting." The pair stride out into the sunlight, heels clicking on the stone. "You know," Taraine murmurs, "You're right. I do look stunning like this."

So Taraine, as a heretic, has a draconic form as well as her Elezen one.

I dithered for ages on what inhuman traits Taraine should have in her humanoid form - I wanted something pseudo-reptilian but easily hidden.

Eventually, I came to the conclusion, now brought to life by @ashuraarts :

(Mortal Reminder - Pentakill) Staggering back from the force of the Warrior's axe-blow, Blaidd spits up a globule of blood, hearing his greatsword clattering to the floor a short distance away.

"Light-blind wretches," he snarls, "Do you really think I will let you pass?" Watching the Galdjent step forward, shield raised, Blaidd let his lip curl back in a snarl - and let the Wolf burst forth, a sudden wall of teeth and fur and claws that the would-be heroes cannot help but step back in alarm from. "So-called Warriors of Light," the Wolf-man snarls, towering over them all before his front paws hit the stone flagstones, shaking the ground. "I will tear out your throats!"

Her claws clicking on the wooden handle, Gwyn carefully lifts the kettle of stew off of her fire - resting it on her counter. Letting the broth cool, she takes the large chunks of zonure meat she hunted and starts to dice them, unable to help but drool a little at the delicious meat in her hands. Letting her mind wander to prevent her from just eating the raw meat, the healer casts her mind back to even a single year ago, when the Light still ran rampant - and snorts at how much more relaxed she feels now.

The Sin Eaters are gone, there are adventurers - proclaiming themselves "Warriors of Light", now isn't that an irony - roaming the countryside, righting wrongs and keeping things generally safe. Why, as long as I keep myself to myself and don't let them see the Wolf, it's the safest I've ever felt - and I didn't need to go live in that shining cage at the Crystarium for it.

(Love Letters - Watsky)

Holding her head in her hands, Taraine looks down at the pile of crumpled letters on her desk.

This always looked so effortless, she muses to herself. I've watched people draft formal letters dozens of times.

A deep frown furrowing her brow, she tosses the parchment into the hearth - the sleeping hound at her side raising her head to look at her for a moment before returning to sleep.

Taking a fresh page, Taraine mutters to herself, beginning another attempt, her pen strokes clear and bold.

"To The House of Lords, Regarding reparations to the Dravanians..."

Groaning, she kicks away from the desk. "Why am I doing this?" She snarls to herself. "This isn't me. Someone more suited to it can write this up."

Giving up entirely, she strides to the front door, snapping her fingers to have her well-trained hound rise to its feet and follow her with a soft bark.
