Does anyone know what, if any, onceler blogs are being or have been archived?

Hey all!

Sorry for the low activity as of late.

Most of the things this blog was built to do is accomplished by the Discord server made for it, so if you’re wondering where all the action is, that’s your answer!

(It is still open and active by the way and I’m processing some requests now.)

But! I’m doing my best to make sure that this blog is a decent mirror of the server in terms of posting things that people want others to see like announcements and promotions. Pretty much like an online bulletin board!

I still want this blog to be a useful resource for fandom members, so this blog is still very much open for blog promotions: Both artblogs and askblogs can be promoted with posts on this blog. I just need permission from the one who moderates these blogs, so you cannot request them on anon.

Links to the promotional templates are on this blog or you send me an ask so that we can talk about what you want in your promotional post. You may also send a submission to this blog to link me to a post that you want boosted.

This blog is meant to be a fandom resource, so I am always taking suggestions to make it more user friendly and fulfill people’s needs within possibility.

Hello Campers!

It is now as you all know, the start of May which means that Camp Activities can officially start kicking into gear!

Don’t fret if you aren’t signed up yet or don’t have time to participate this month. Camp Weehawken signups will be available till the end of Summer.

Here are a few updates and some additional information:

☀We’ve gone over all the applications sent to this askbox and have updated the Cabin list. If you have sent an application and you see that your characters are not on the list, tumblr might have eaten your ask and you are very welcome to send it again.

☀ If you asked for a link to the discord server and haven’t received one or if it has expired, send your ask again and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

(If nearly a week has gone by and there has been no response about your application and you’re worried it hasn’t gone through, you can DM @anotherler on tumblr about it.)

☀The discord server has also gotten a bit of a re-haul with addition of a private counselor chat to go with the staff and Cabin chats. In general it has been cleaned up a bit since last year’s events.

☀Weecampfire RP will be starting up in the discord server soon once the rules for it are written and posted.

☀ In addition to the RP always being open, the moderators are considering 1 or 2 set times on a weekly basis where RP is sure to be happening. These times will be voted for by all participants with a poll. Keep your eye out for that in the future.

Also, since Weehawken events have been kicked off, this blog will now become active reblogging posts from the participants! Hello Campers! This is the official signup post for Weehawken 2018!

This is the 5th year that weehawken has been running! Thank you all so much for making this a successful and fun fandomwide AU and RP event!

This year, we’ve got moderators Coral and Yoyo returning to help out!

As I’ve mentioned the day before, there are a few major changes coming to weehawken this year that will hopefully serve to improve the event as a whole:

DISCORD SERVER: This year, the Discord server will now be hosting the campfire groupchats which used to take place on Tinychat. Tinychat was unfortunately not working for a lot of people who tried to access it the year before so it will no longer be used.

This server was set up last year to help participants get in touch with each other, discuss the events of weehawken in a group chat and share art and fics.

Discord is available to computer and mobile users and it’s free to sign up if you don’t already have an account. Requesting a link to the discord will be part of the weehawken signup process which I will be detailing below.

Links will be given out for the entirety of the event and won’t close until Camp Weehawken’s conclusion.

Important note: You do not need to join the Discord server to take part in Weehawken. The main posts and character interactions take place on tumblr between RP/ask blogs. However it is highly recommended that you do so if you don’t want to miss out on a single thing.

CONTINUING: If you would like you can request the exact same cabin and roles that you had the year before and continue where you left off with the same characters and the same plot threads. Some people have expressed an interest in doing this but the option to start from scratch with new or existing characters is still available.

Please contact the blog as soon as possible to re-secure your spot in the cabin!

If you have any questions about these new features, send an ask to this blog. Without further ado, here is everything you need to know about signing up.

HOW TO SIGN UP:

Message this blog and give us these three details:

Desired Role: options are camper, counselor or staff. If you would rather have some other role like camp mascot, send a request! Campers are under the age of 18. They tend to range from 12 - 17 years of age but you can have somewhat younger characters. Only characters 18 years old and up can be staff or counselors. Because this is an AU you can make your character any age you’d like!

Blog Name: Once you have a RP blog you will be using for camp set up, tell us the blog name. Tumblr might not let the message through if you type a URL. Just give us the name of the blog, like so: ex. “campweehawken”

Preferred Cabin: (doesn’t apply to staff) Campers and counselors reside in cabins that fit one counselor and a maximum of 8 campers.  If you have any preference for what cabin you want to be sorted into, let us know in your registration. If you supply no preference you will be sorted into a random cabin.

Discord (Optional): If you would like a link to the discord, please ask for it in your signup ask.

Take a look at the 2018 Cabin List to see where you and other campers have been sorted as well at who the staff are! Links to all participant blogs will be available there. The list is constantly updating as more submissions come in.      

If your blog has more than one character, you will be filling up more than one vacancy spot unless your characters happen to be family: cousins, twins, siblings. Then, the characters can share a bed in the cabin and fill up just one vacancy spot.

All in all, Camp Weehawken is an open ended event! You can be as creative as you’d like. But keep in mind that this is a public event! Please be respectful.

-Speaking of Illumination adaptations, the new trailer for this fall’s upcoming Grinch movie came out just yesterday, watch it here!

-Vidler and Jack have made a somewhat triumphant return… but to where?

-Speaking of Once-lers up and about again; it seems the recent celebrations have sparked Shelter and Classic to start answering asks as well!

Yes! This blog is still active.

This is a resource for fandom members where I can promote people’s art and askblogs by recommendation but I don’t really receive any prompts to do that so mostly I reblog commission and donation posts for the fandom as well as information pertaining to fandom-wide events to get folks informed.

I’ve been wondering if I should do a little more digging personally and spotlight some askblogs, fic writers and artists myself without prompt but I don’t want to accidentally exclude anyone. That’s why I only really take requests. There are a lot of blogs out there and I’d mostly be finding them by word of mouth and through the #newler and #lerkimpails tag.One thing I could do is queue a weekly reminder to support your favorite askblogs in sending them asks and such, which was a campaign I wanted to launch sometime back. Some new things might be coming to this blog and if any of you have suggestions on what I could do for you and what you’d like to see, please let me know. This blog is meant to be a resource for everyone.

This blog is also partnered the with the discord group that I moderate. It’s a 13+ age group server where people can share their art, their blogs and their ideas and have a little discussion about anything they want and get to know others in the community. To get in you must send an ask to this blog and wait for an invite link. The discord has been up for a year now and is brimming with activity.There may be announcements coming up soon as there is one fandomwide RP AU definitively making it’s return as it does every year and another that is currently likely but not confirmed just yet.I think that’s all I have to update on. I know it’s a bit of a lengthy way to answer “Yes” but I figured I’d get everyone up to speed.
