So it is time for my own.

It hurt at first. I felt his pain. I saw all he saw as he stared back at me. At the world. He seethed with nostalgia that clogged my pores and made me vomit. Which is a feat in it and of itself, I suppose. But as it faded, I could see he understood me. He saw inside myself, as I saw inside him. We understood one another. As I understood what had to be done. I did it easily. It was the cost of a drop in the ocean. A drop now indecipherable from the rest. Melted into nothing so that everything around it could be heard that much easier. Now I hear him- as clearly as I can see him. He watches back.
