one of my favorite things to do in limited perspective is write sentences about the things someone doesn't do. he doesn't open his eyes. he doesn't reach out. i LOVE sentences like that. if it's describing the narrator, it's a reflection of their desires, something they're holding themselves back from. there's a tension between urge and action. it makes you ask why they wanted or felt compelled to do that, and also why they ultimately didn't. and if it's describing someone else, it tells you about the narrator's expectations. how they perceive that other person or their relationship. what they thought the other person was going to do, or thought the other person should have done, but failed to. negative action sentences are everything.

hi! are you planning on writing more for your shadowgast fic by any chance? it is just lovely and i am aching to see the scene excerpted in the description & how these two traumatized wizards manage to get there. no worries if not, but i’d be remiss not to ask!!! you write them wonderfully (and i am very picky about my shadowgast, lol) — i know i’d take whatever offerings you’d be willing to share/publish, incomplete as they may be!

on a similar note, any recommendations for shadowgast fics? based on how well you write them, i trust your taste :)

(also, was so pleasantly surprised by the space struck epithet — paige lewis was a mentor of mine for poetry and became a close family friend, so it was crazy to see them in a shadowgast fic!!! so good)

hello! thank you so much for the love on You'll Be You, i've been meaning to get back to it forever! i definitely intend to finish it and have most of the remaining 6 chapters started (the next chapter is almost over the line), but it's just something i chip away at when i have a bit of time and am in the mood, so i can't make any concrete promises about when it might appear. that said, this is lovely encouragement and makes me want to work on it soooooo ... watch this space, i guess?!

i can not tell you enough how much i fucking hate that me and everyone else who lives in a country that isn’t america have to actually be concerned with their stupid fucking clown show of a government nonstop because everything they do effects literally everyone else it’s so fucking exhausting to have to be concerned about my own government AND theirs like some fucking kid who just shows up at my house unannounced especially when americans literally never have to give a shit about any other government in the world unless they’re actively at war with that country why does america get to be the fucking protagonist country!!! why do they get to fucking damage everyone else in their crossfire to themself!!!!!

finally finished my early Essek expression studies! (do not ask me how many times i've redrawn these since last year)

i adore Essek's expressiveness and his shadowhand mask is a whole separate flavor of that expressiveness. my personal favorite here is that scene where Jester tried to butter him up by telling him how cool and handsome he is and Essek thanked her with the most self-satisfied face on, elegant lean forward and all. love a performative wizard
