So like…I was revisiting Season 2 (Cause you know me, looking for ways to turn my Doomed Straights into more angst) And uhh, got me thinking about something.

So like…are we in agreement that…Never Witch pretty much killed the Guardians of each realm momentarily before getting the realm doom-domed? Cause like that’s a stab wound right there. Even if Phil was seen sort of alive we also have this:

Girlie stabs Burrzerker and they straight up stop moving. I’m pretty sure she killed them. Like legit they actually DIED. Before the Dream Chasers save the day and stuff.

(Which is honestly traumatizing I feel bad to for the girl that had to witness that good thing she’s not an aware dreamer)

So, like, I think about this scene.

How she was confronting the Sandman and such. And like soon afterwards.

The Murky Realm disappeared. I think Tommy Andreason who is one of the people who writes the show says Sandman is the closest thing or considered a Guardian of the Murky Realm. So- with that in mind…

Safe to assume She straight up stabbed Sandman and killed him.

And it’s kinda fitting that Sandman gets killed first. Considering Sandman is the first person she’s seen talking to about what happened to her sister.

“Why won’t you tell me what you did to her?! Where is my sister?!”

She accuses him of doing something to Ever Witch as if he is responsible for what happened. And Sandman says:

“I did nothing I wasn’t meant to do, she did as her heart desired, she went everywhere and became one with the Dream World, what is inevitable must be embraced”

It implies that he must’ve actually helped out on that procedure. ‘I did nothing I wasn’t meant to do’ He’s not saying he didn’t do anything he’s saying he did help because that’s his job.

But in the Never Witch’s perspective, Sandman pretty much killed her sister. So it’s only fair she kills him.

It’s also interesting when you remember that Sandman and Never Witch were basically neighbors for a while.

We see in Season 2 when Sandman points out where the Never Witch resided she actually stays close by. Which means she had to witnessed who she believed was her sister’s killer prancing around happily viewing new dreams while she’s trapped confined in a realm where she can barely execute her master plan.

So in my quest to find ways to make EverSand angst I unknowingly found some in the bits of pieces of interaction between the Never Witch and Sandman and how more heartbreaking it is once I insert the ship into this storyline.

Anyways, here’s a meme inspired by my observations sprinkled with the implications of EverSand

This is more of a headcanon, taking place pre-Season 1

I imagine getting bullied by Logan gave Mateo some pent up frustrations and he needed to vent somewhere. Of course though, Mateo never said these insults out loud. Mostly because he doesn’t want to…go too far. (Except for maybe calling Logan a ‘jerk’ like tame insults he’ll say out loud but the rest? Yeah that’s going in the Notebook.)

GIRLIE I LOVE A BITTERSWEET ENDING BUT I GOTTA MAKE THEM SAD FIRST OKAY-

Okay so my story is. Both Sandman and Ever Witch are Dream Creatures who pretty much saw the dawn of the Dream World.

With Ever Witch being a dream made from the first people who dreamt of witches and stuff and Sandman being made from Dream Sand.

Sandman pretty much resided in the Murky Realm in the first part, mostly to aid dreamers, to assign the next Dream Keeper etc etc etc. (gave him an important role, cause it’s based off of one of the Writer’s tweets that Sandman is the closest thing to a Guardian in the Murky Realm)

He meets Ever Witch when she passes by the Murky Realm almost getting eaten by a siren, surprised that she doesn’t have that sense of fear of the unknown and danger of the Dream World. (Cause Sandman was more…job-oriented in the pass idk) At first he kept following her around because Ever Witch had a tendency to get herself in dangerous situations because of her curiosity but slowly they started exploring the Dream World together.

And slowly but surely, her enthusiasm and curiosity rubs off on Sandman and he begins to see wonder in everything in the Dream World just as she did. They eventually fall in love and stuff, get married, explore and adventure the Dream World some more, doing odd jobs here and there.

But slowly, Ever Witch’s being starts calling for a different purpose. Instead of being separated from the Dream World, her heart desired to be part of this amazing world full of dreams and wonder. She expresses this to Sandman.

Sandman, whose very essence is made of Dream Sand knows that her time is up. And it’s time for her to become one with the dreams. Which is normal for most Dream Creatures in this realm. An idea can only last for so long. Though conflicted by her decision and warning her that this might cause her to never come back again. And by all accounts kill her, he gives in. Wanting her to be happy.

So, Ever Witch becomes one with the Dream World as the story goes. With Sandman being the one to help her. (Which is why the Never Witch accuses him of doing something to her when she confronts him)

The little angst headcanon I have for this story is that Sandman in his own little way still misses her at times and finds joy and love looking at Forgotten Dreams because it’s one of the few ways he clings to the past emotions of Wonder and Delight that Ever Witch’s being starts brought into his life.
