The official Discogs app gets its release today!
Other than being able to search the database, you can now use your phone’s camera to search for a release by the barcode.  This should hopefully cut down the time you spend matching up your records.
The Discogs app is out on iOS today (29 February) in the morning, Pacific Standard time.

For some time now I have been on the lookout for a vinyl record storage unit. There are so many options available.  I managed to find this storage unit on eBay.  It holds approximately 150 records.
Here’s a great article for vinyl record storage and shelving solutions I came across during my search.  http://coloredvinylrecords.com/blog/vinyl-record-storage-and-shelving-solutions/

Next stop was the awesome Rebel Rebel Records on Bleecker Street, West Village.  27 years old and still standing strong!  Records stacked high in cramped conditions made this such a fun place to dig for records.
Rebel Rebel stocks a wide range of records, old and new. I could have spent a day in here and the owner is very knowledgable and friendly too.
This is a must visit for any vinyl lover!

On a recent holiday to New York, I took a trip to Williamsburg, Brooklyn to Rough Trade Records for some vinyl. The last time I was here, Rough Trade NYC didn't exist, so I thought I would see what New York's biggest record store has to offer. The great thing about Rough Trade NYC is it's not just a record shop but a music venue as well, fully licenced, holding an estimated 250-300 people. Records Purchased The Remains - The Remains Fleetwood Mac (Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac) Fleetwood Mac - Mr Wonderful The Beatles (White Album) Address: 64 N 9th St, Brooklyn, NY 11249, United States Opening Times: Monday - Friday 11am-11pm, Sunday - 11am-9pm.
