the average human lifespan globally is 70+ years

taking the threshold of adulthood as 18, you are likely to spend at least 52 years as a fully grown adult

at the age of 30 you have lived less than one quarter of your adult life (12/52 years)

'middle age' is typically considered to be between 45-65

it is extremely common to switch careers, start new relationships, emigrate, go to college for the first or second time, or make other life-changing decisions in middle age

it's wild that I even have to spell it out, but older adults (60+) still have social lives and hobbies and interests.

you can still date when you get old. you can still fuck. you can still learn new skills, be fashionable, be competitive. you can still gossip, you can still travel, you can still read. you can still transition. you can still come out.

young doesn't mean peaked. you're inexperienced in your 20s! you're still learning and practicing! you're developing social skills and muscle memory that will last decades!

there are a million things to do in the world, and they don't vanish overnight because an imaginary number gets too big

“You thought you ate that.” Bruce physically feels a full body shiver, charged with nausea and cringe. “This is level 10 cringe. Can’t have shit in Gotham.”

Dick is his earth bound angel, but he laughs like a demon at him, holding onto Jason for support, pledging his eternal loyalty to Zatana and her pettiness.

What he wants to say is Jay, do not try and fight with 6 bullets in your stomach.

What comes out instead, through Bruce’s grit teeth and intense, fierce glaring, “Not you trying to go back to your corpse era. See how I only took 2 shots? Very demure. Very mindful.”

Jason passes out from blood loss, but mostly laughter.

Stephanie barely bites back a full belly cackle. “I think he just asked us if we copied.”

“I wish I was Jason, 15.”

“This is not a slay environment. Killing is flop behavior.” He keeps his eyes shut and buries his face in his hands. Trying to convince Damian not to stab someone doesn’t seem to work.

Damian gives him a pat like he’s a pitiful cat. “I’ll only stab the non lethal areas.”

14 year old freshman here, and im honestly super annoyed at the education system right now.

we started scheduling classes for next year, and we basically had one option left for a class that wasn’t required if you didn’t already take pe 2

and you can’t even take summer gym or any other summer classes because they cut the budget for summer school?????

every year i get so much more annoyed with the tiny amount of money they give to schools

that moment when the person you like but only in terms of looks or outside appearance turns into someone that you actually like-like is both haunting and enlightening at the same time

in class we read romeo and juliet and i cannot stop thinking about how romeo caused most of the six deaths in some way.

first mercutio died when romeo tried to stop his and tybalt’s fight, leading mercutio to get stabbed and die from injury.

then romeo, in a fit of anger, slays tybalt in revenge

after romeo is banished from verona, his mother ends up also dying of a broken heart (revealed in that last act)

and then in the final act, romeo ends up killing paris as well when they fight

and heartbroken from juliet’s apparent “death,” romeo then kills himself with a vial of poison

and finally, juliet stabs herself with a dagger after seeing romeo dead on the floor, not wanting to be alive without him

it’s just been bouncing around my head about this ever since we finished the play

people of science i desperately need help rn.

i have a 6 page essay due on october 10th plus something i have to make for it for biology.

the topic is “the development of the theory of evolution” and i need 6 scientists who contributed to the evolution theory and all i have is frickin charles darwin

literally just give me respectable sites to use PLEASE because research is the part i suck at the most

ok i need to know what to be for halloween and i have ideas BUT before you click an option here’s the reasons for each one

some siren water ghost: i have a skull with pearls on it somewhere and i think it would be cool to carry it around and stuff BUT i don’t really do sfx makeup and i don’t have anything to wear for that and im pretty sure spirit halloween isn’t helping with that

dead bride killed by groom: this is my favorite option bc for one thing i actually made a backstory lol and for another thing i think i could do the sfx makeup for this in like a bruises way (strangled) and i think it would be cool and creative BUT again nothing to wear for it and it might be hard to find a white dress that gives wedding dress also i think i might spend a lot of time explaining it to people

random murderer: this one’s my least favorite but basically i just get some cheap clothes rip them up a bit and put fake blood on them, get a fake bloody knife and put on some scary makeup and boom done. it would be easy but i think kinda boring

fairy: this one’s also easy but in a way where it’s cooler and stuff. my sister has a pair of fake wings from another halloween that i could use and getting an outfit should be simple. BUT i kinda want to go more scary this year because the past years i haven’t been that scary

stuffed animal related costume: this one’s also not scary but could be kinda fun. basically i choose one of my stuffed animals and find an outfit that sort of resembles it then just carry it around with me. BUT still not scary lol

no costume, just halloween themed outfit: i usually go with a certain group of friends for halloween trick or treating but i don’t think they want to do it this year :( so there would probably be no point of getting in full costume. i don’t have a lot of friends and they’re the only ones i feel comfortable trick or treating with. i want to try and convince them though. maybe instead we could go to an escape room or haunted house or maze, but i think full costume might be too much for that. BUT my school is thinking about having a “trunk or treat” so hypothetically i could dress up for that!
