Final call for suggestions for The New Vampire Media Poll series!

I am accepting entries until Friday, October 18th.

Categories are:

Digital Media

Movies

Short films

Tv shows

Songs

Physical Media

Books

Short stories

We will end with a competition between each one to see which comes out on top overall. I need at least 12 entries for movies, tv shows, books, and songs, and at least 4 (preferably 8) entries for short films and short stories.

If you have a suggestion for something to add as an entry, please send me an ask or dm with your suggestion. I'd like if you add a synopsis (if you can't find one online, add your own) with its source, but it is not a requirement. I will get back to you and confirm with you that your suggestion has been added either through dm or posting of the ask.

The vampire digital media poll will eventually get its final updated image. I've been swamped with stuff as I started college this semester.

In the meantime, please send in some pieces of media (book, movie, tv show, short film, painting, you name it!) via my asks that are vampire-related. I am preparing for a new series of polls and I'll be sure to credit whoever sends it (so if you want to be featured, make sure anon is off!).

Am I the asshole for creating an immortal family?

I (M, 99) have been going through a bit of tumultuous drama with my husband, whom I'll call L (M, 93). Despite everything that I've given him -- wealth, immortality, a new way of looking at the world -- L is perpetually moody and distant, and it often feels like he blames me for giving him these things when he should be thanking me instead.

Anyway, at one point when I was worried that L might try to leave me, I stumbled on the perfect solution: we could adopt a daughter! She was an orphan and probably would have died otherwise, so naturally I brought her into the family immediately. This, of course, required me to share our gifts with her as well, making her immortal and giving her a share of our powers.

This is where it gets a bit tricky. We've had our perfect little family for sixty-five years now. We have comfortable rooms, nice furniture, fashionable clothes, plenty to eat -- anything we could want, really. The only problem is that our daughter, whom I'll call C (F, 70?) has lately taken to asking the most impertinent questions: Where do we come from? Why aren't there others like us? Who made me immortal, and where is that individual? Naturally I refuse to entertain such inquiries; none of those thing matter. And unlike L, I don't think C ever resents me for the gifts I gave her, but... well, because of the way our immortality works, she's still a little girl even after sixty-five years, and I think she's having trouble coming to grips with that.

So... Am I the asshole for turning a little girl into a vampire?
