... The Zine of Elements is officially here!

After six months of creativity, love, and effort, we're so proud and excited to present to you the official release of The Zine of Elements: A LEGO Ninjago Fanzine. Within this Zine, you'll find the works of twenty-two of the Ninjago fandom's talented creators, with eighteen artists and four authors coming together to celebrate Ninjago's various background elemental masters.

I am once again emerging from the void to make my first real post in months

It's one am and I have a Theory

So the fandom's pretty much in agreement that the elements can be broken down into more specific/less powerful elements (ex. smoke as part of fire, the core four elements being parts of creation, all elements coming from the Source Dragons)

In canon it's established that elements are not exclusive to any one source, being present in elemental masters, the golden weapons, and elemental dragons simultaneously

With that being established, an argument can be made that all magic in Ninjago is somehow related to an element, even if it's not strong enough to be an "official" element possessed by an elemental master. All sources of magic can be attributed to an element or fragment of an element.

Formlings could be connected to the element of Form, sorcerers like Clouse or Gandalaria could be tapping into many different elements on a small scale. This explains why Clouse needed to collect many elements in the staff - they're a concentrated version of the power he'd already learned to tap into.

The idea of elemental fragmentation also explains why the new elements in dragons rising seem to overlap like Quake and Shockwave / Fire and Heat or be very specific like Surface Tension.

The mechanics of elemental masters and how each element can seemingly only have one master at a time makes it seem like the elements are very self-contained, but everything else related to elements points to them being a lot more universal throughout the realms.

Still proud of this three years later but I will never get over how insane I was for outlining, shading, and adding highlights to each individual chain link. And then adding lightning all over it.
