Here’s why I hate female cricket commentators…
Worcestershire v Somerset today.
Female commentator: I’m really looking forward to the T20 World Cup next month. It’s being held in the US for the first time.
Male commentator: They’re holding it in the Caribbean.
Female commentator: I know. That’s in America, isn’t it?
What the hell can she possible know about cricket, much less simple geography? Fifteen years ago she was still in nappies.

Pintxo for breakfast. Pancakes, sausage, cheese and fried onions. Tasted much better than it looks.

The house a few doors down has a planted arch over their front gate. I don’t remembering it flowering last year - maybe it did - but I’ve just noticed one single flower cluster right at the bottom.
Who knows - maybe the whole thing will burst into flower. More when /if it does.
I’ve no idea what it is. If I were to guess I’d say some sort of clematis but what do I know? I’m no botanist!

St George’s Day.
His father was from Turkey, his mother was Syrian.
He was a Roman and died in Palestine. He never visited England.
If he’s a hero to anyone it’s Palestine and the muslims, for whom he stood up against discrimination and oppression.
And since dragons have never existed he could hardly have killed one.
So as patron saints go he’s a bit of a waste of time.

Archeologists in the ancient Italian city of Pompeii have uncovered some superbly preserved paintings in a fresco which dates back 2-3000 years.
One of them clearly shows an early version of a pizza.
Americans are furious. They have long maintained that the pizza was invented in 1930’s Chicago!!!
Delusional yanks, found out again!

I was born and raised in Southport, Lancashire and left when I was 14.
One of the strong memories I still hold of my childhood is of 80,000 geese arriving every year in Autumn to over-winter and feed on the sands.
It was quite a sight to watch them fly over. At times the sky was black with them and the sound was deafening.
You’d hear them first before you ever saw them. It was an amazing spectacle.
This picture is just some of the geese arriving and was taken in Southport.
