Some Embroideries I've done since I quit my job!
The first is a re-creation of an earlier attempt from 2009 (the second image) from a Cosplay from Babylon 5.
and the final one is a K-Mart kit of a Galah that I threw out the instructions for and did my own thing on.
#XennyArt#embroidery#Babylon 5#galah#parrots#you can really tell the the skill glow up from the 2009 patch and the new patch#the stars on the new patch are glow-in-the-dark!#I do have some art to post it's pokemon and you'll see some soon#slowly getting back into the groove of arting#some of my copics have had their nibs go off that i need to replace so I'm experimenting with mediums

hope I never pay this much $$$ for something as silly as a pen ever again (but I can’t say I regret it)

Mini rant about fountain pen ink reviews and swatches on online stores.
I hate when stores only show a swab/ink muddler/eyedropper swatch. Sure it shows the properties of the ink, but what's this gonna do for me when most fountain pen inks are used to... I don't know... WRITE? Like I know some people do use them for traditional art and calligraphy, but I think there's a larger demographic of regular fountain pen uses with a f/m nib than someone who has a 2.3 mm nib.
Whatever, it's better than those who don't even post a swatch AT ALL. Like thanks for showing me what the packaging looks like. How am I supposed to imagine what it looks like on paperrrrr GOD HELP MEEE /lh Looking at you Ink Institute.
#i bought ink and pen for my birthday gift yay#i finally got myself a monteverde ritma. it has the omniflex which im interested to try out#i love medium size nibs and all but i do wanna try new nibs too#magnet posting you will be mine#etc

i really wish i had gotten into fountain pens while i was still in school. it would have made me so much more insufferable
#right now my daily carry is a medium nib platinum preppy with a gorgeous grey-green ink called “wizard's pencil”#tragically out of stock everywhere at the moment BUT i'm hoping i have just enough left in the inkwell to keep until it returns#i also tried a sample of heliogen green-copper and its soooooo pretty and impractical i love it#dear diary

honestly it’s pretty crazy to see how much my inking style has changed from last month when I got my nahvalur for the first time
#also lol at the fact that bc anna’s a broad nib I had to use two other pens for different line widths#when I get that one fixed I’ll also buy a medium nib for her#and then depending on which one I buy next (IF I buy another one) that’ll probably be another fine or maybe an extra fine#i love zerlina though she’s a fine nib so I use her for everything#these are some exceptionally silly pen names huh#pen talk

It's so sad to me that the only art mediums that get taken seriously in a traditional sense are painting. As someone who never quite gelled with paint mediums, it's sad to see so many amazing pieces relegated to the sidelines for not being acrylic or oils or watercolors. Pastels, pencils colored or otherwise, charcoals, inks (when not being used in washes like a paint), markers, the list goes on. They deserve as much attention and respect, but are just seen as the stepping stones in learning to paint or from idea to a final painting instead of fully realized beautiful art pieces of their own.
#JUSTICE FOR DRAWING MEDIUMS#mostly this experience stems from art school#very rarely did my work in non paint mediums get taken as seriously as my painting classes#but i adore ink nib pen and charcoals#i wish i could make work with them and feel it was truly finished#queen.tags#rambles#art#artmaking

#art#traditional art#fountain pen ink#i found an old pilot stub. those ones you can find in those little cheap green pens that are labelled b#i forgot what they were called. g something. g7 something#anyway i forgot i had it so i popped it in a lightive that originally had a medium that i think i need to adjust a bit#and the ink is a mix of some dark blue diamine joint but mostly some really old electric pink (hot pink with silver shimmer)#so it made a nice shady purple tone :) its turning more pinky purple now tho so maybe the blues running out#maybe i should add another drop of blue.... hashtag mad ink science. it also has a nice silver shimmer as said before :)#you cant really see it tho. its for ME hkfdajgrskfeldkhds but yeah the stub tip is more fun than i thought!!!#i hold pencils and pens and stuff slightly odd so instead of being thick on the vertical and thin on the horizontal its the opposite LOL#maybe i should get a hold of one of those chinese writing nibs someday. i think lamy has them. i think i'd enjoy it#BUT yeah playing with pen :) hee hee

that peeled Jamis (lol thank you for showing us this) work-in-progress you posted... do you do the inking traditionally? that's so cool! :D

yeah!! i sketch with non-photo blue pencils that don't show up on scanner, and then i ink on top of that with kuretake black ink.
it looks fancy but this is THE cheapest way of doing comics, since i draw on paper i use a looot of ink and this stuff lasts a long time! i used to ink with markers but it got really expensive in the end. also with dip pen nibs you get wonderful variation on the line, unlike with markers so i heartily recommend it to everyone! i started drawing tigers with wooden pencils, then i switched to markers and finally to ink and i cannot emphasize how good the ink is compared to every other medium.

I'm honestly astounded. I thought this was going to be one of those things I would get frustrated at for not being good at it quickly enough. It was never in the plans for it to get this far. I was never that much into art when I started.
Going by my finished wips folder, I've finished 142 digital drawings since I first got a tablet in 2021
#like i did use to draw traditionally before that yes#but i did it with a lot of anxiety because i'm not made of money and good materials are expensive#and sometimes you use them to make something that is frankly bad or frustrating#and that was a problem because there was only so much I could spend especially considering I had to go to a bigger town to buy some stuff#so i never really did more than scribble with a 2B pencil or a pen nib and ink on printer paper even though people DID gift me paper#or canvases and acrylics. i was given some of those too and i never dared use them#cause what if I liked the medium and then i couldn't keep buying paint and brushes. what then.#and yeah a tablet is considerably more expensive but if i don't like something...#i could just delete the layer and try again with zero waste#hell considering the output i could definitely say i've saved money in the long run

DAY 6267
Jalsa, Mumbai Apr 13, 2025/Apr 14 Sun/Mon 12:01 am
Birthday - EF - Prasha Ganesh Monday, 14 April ... wishes for this special day from the entire Ef family ..🌺
🪔 ,
April 14 .. birthday happiness to Ef Prasha Ganesh from Sri Lanka .. and Ef Urvashi Sharma .. 🙏🏽❤️🚩

A dear friend sent me this 👆🏼 .. old times reminded .. it used to be a constant in the home .. now in a smaller size and being brought out in retrospective .. generous words .. not deserving but grateful and obliged ..
🙏
🌺
The age of handwriting has been overtaken by the punches on the black square .. and the generation of the young now in their curriculum are giving their work here on this medium .. and no one writes ..
But in the generosity of Abhishek, he gave me a pen , as a gesture that acknowledged that his father still often prefers to use his hands in the usage of the ink .. often enough ..
... and also did you know , another factor that Abhishek picked up from the store he picked the pen, that the nibs of pens are designed separately for the left handed, and the right handed .. !!

generosity ... as is the generosity of them the young and the old and the well wishers at the Sunday meetings ..

... blessed this morning by the Lord Ganesha at Siddhivinayak , by presenting to me the blessings draped over my shoulder .. and the blessings at the mandir at Babulnath ..
Keep well .. keep connected and remain ever in prayers 🙏

Amitabh Bachchan
