Update: she got a fever:(

Banana (my 9 year old cousin) called me today crying because she feels feverish, and may not be able to go to her end-of-year school party if she actually gets a fever.

She even made rings for her friends because they are shifting schools.

Anyway if she wakes up feeling alright she gets to go. I’ve never been more anxious.

I just remembered

When I was like 9, some of the ~bad~ kids had learnt a new word, a word we all found shifty. A word we used to whisper about. Something a fifth grader found just as scandalous as kissing

The word gay

And I recall sitting in the school van, and my friend told me about that word, and how it meant something like transgender.

And like- ofcourse we were not gay. I mean- we liked boys!

But then she got a girlfriend, and I downloaded Tumblr.

Right so I have burning fever so naturally i thought about bisexuality

A while back an acquaintance and i were talking and we realised were both bi, and she told me

'honestly I'm surprised that you're bi, you don't seem like the kind of person who would be into this dating stuff'

And it really stuck with me, because I realise I don't really fit into the stereotypes ppl have set for bi individuals like 24x7, and I haven't even confessed my feelings for anyone.

Which is why I feel like it's important to say this: not every queer person is always sexual and into all the dating thing, and not all of us fit into this big fat stereotype, whether it be good or bad.

And as someone who still, admittedly, has doubts about her sexuality, it is probably the most terrible thing I've heard.

Stop telling queer PPL u couldn't guess they were queer. Stop telling us we look straight. Stop assuming you have to have an active love life to know your sexuality.

Oh and on that note, I wanted to thank god for the term Biromantic because as a kid I really don't wanna set a label on my sexual preference yet. I do often use the term bisexual for myself but yeah.
