Antitote = Anti-Totalitarian, as well as a play on words sounding like antidote. No, I don't hate tote bags.
I'm an amateur blogger against all oppression and exploitation rather by government despots or corporate bosses, now devout to developing knowledge and understanding and finding solutions to the problems brought on by unfettered capitalist greed and corruption.

so today I drove past a traffic sign that said 'hey teens buckling up is totes yeet yo'
i wish i was joking but after we screamed a bit my brother attempted to get a picture as proof, failed, and ended up with this masterpiece that pretty much sums up the whole experience
"Federal Agencies Tapped Protesters’ Phones in Portland" reports Ken Klippenstein of The Nation.
In news I imagine not surprising to anyone by now, the federal government has been, quite likely illegally, spying on protesters. No matter where you are in our modern world, it's best to assume any and all calls and texts or online interactions you make relating to any popular movements at all are being gathered if not actively monitored by your government rather it's constitutionally legal or not, even and especially by the government here in the so-called land of the free.
A Brief List Of Educational Climate Change Resource Suggestions
Here’s a quick list of suggestions of resources for the common laymen such as myself to learn about (or use to educate others on) the science of climate change, in easily accessible and digestible formats.
Let’s start off strong with a classic for those that haven’t seen it:
Bill Nye’s Hot Rage On Climate Change
It’s not big on the science really, but it sure is entertaining and I recommend everyone that has missed out on this great moment give it a watch.
Anyways, on to the serious stuff...
YouTube Channels
Hot Mess - YouTube spinoff channel from PBS and the folks at It’s Okay to be Smart devoted to climate change.
Global Weirding with Katharine Hayhoe - Another YouTube channel devoted to climate change.
MinuteEarth - This channel covers a broad range of science, including climate change and environmental issues.
Podcasts
This is the one area of this list I can’t personally vouch for (yet), however I’ve been on a podcast kick recently and figured it would be worth including a link to an article about a few that seem to be good for those on the move, especially those with long commutes.
7 podcasts to learn more about climate change and how to fight it
Reducing Carbon Footprint and Plant-Based Diets
Here’s three example videos from Hot Mess related to sustainability and diet:
Beef is Bad for the Climate… But How Bad? | Hot Mess (4:59)
The Best Ways to Reduce Your Carbon Footprint | Hot Mess (4:11)
Our Food System is Rigged feat. Sheril Kirshenbaum | Hot Mess (12:07)
Changing to a vegan or at least mostly plant based diet is one of if not the most readily actionable and impactful changes you can make. However that might not be an easy change for everyone as certain locales might make for pricey fruits and veggies so I recommend picking one day each week to experiment with meatless meals, until you figure out how much of your diet you can budget to be plant-based. Be sure to watch videos from dieticians (not trendy health Youtubers or even doctors*), to make sure you have your nutritional needs covered. Here’s one good example:
VEGAN NUTRITION BASICS » the plate method - by Pick Up Limes (9:52)
Pick Up Limes is both a nutritionist and a vegan. I highly recommend her channel to anyone interested in plant based diets.
*I recommend against consulting doctors for nutritional advice as, from what I understand, most schooling programs do not cover nutrition or not nearly enough of it, so it’s much better to go to dieticians trained specifically in nutritional science for advice instead.
