February 1st. The first day and the first week of Black History Month. Some might think it’s an average month with little to no meaning, but little do they know, it does! Black History Month is more than just a month of the year. It’s an opportunity. A grateful opportunity to learn about the history…the TRUE history of African American culture, and how it incredibly affected the world today. For example, as an avid reader, it was always my quest to read and discover stories that not only would help me escape from the world’s ongoing age of darkness and corruption, but stories that inspired me to where even when the world is in a dark place, helping out to the best of my ability by telling my own stories is the best way to go! Especially if those stories that I’ve consumed are written by men and women that have(or had)the same skin pigment as I do. To my non-black(or non-POC)friends, take this month as a chance to not neglect and ignore, but to learn and self-educate; to not go silent when the black/POC community is grieving or suffering but to help out the best you can when things take an unfortunate turn for the worst. During this month as well as every month, week, day and year that comes and goes, let us never, ever forget the history…the TRUE history of the African American/POC American communities and what they have done to make sure that our world doesn’t go fall complete off its pedestal. #blackhistory #blackhistoryeveryday #neverforgetblackhistory #blackhistoryis365daysayear

My birthday month has finally arrived and speaking of my birthday, it’s 4 weeks away!! And also, I’m happy to say that sometime this month if things go according to plan and after a couple more edits, The Guardian of Peacequal:The Heart of Animosity will be available to beta readers!! Just finished James Wan’s MALIGNANT and holy cow….was I impressed? Everything from the visuals, camera shots, and the backstory regarding this movie’s killer, Gabriel really had me on the edge of my seat and wanting for more! I wasn’t much of a fan of the horror/slasher genre until I was around 14-15 years old. There were so many things about it that intrigued me from the amounts of suspense, tension, character development, and ideas on whether or not the characters will make it to tell the tale or not. I’ve read the first two stories in R.L. Stine’s Fear Street:The Beginning and the only thing I can say about it so far is that I loved every ounce of it, despite the fact that the entire Fear Street series is an anthology of sorts where each story revolves around a different character in the small fictional town of Shadyside. I’m on the third story now and so far, I’m still enjoying it! If you ever wanted to experience the horror genre through literature but don’t know where to start, then Fear Street:The Beginning(which includes the first 4 books in the original series) is just for you! Haven’t been to the movies in two and a half years due to the current state of the world. But I was certainly glad to step into one of my favorite places last night to go see Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings! This movie was an absolute jam packed adventure filled with emotion, returning characters from previous MCU films, and a whole lot more that could set up the rest of Marvel’s Phase Four and the future! If you’ve been wanting to go back to the theater, once you’ve been fully vaccinated that is, and wanted to see a film that will make you get lost in its story and world, then Shang-Chi is the movie for you! Just finished watching Cruella on Disney+, and the only thing I can I say about this movie is…ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDING! Disney, in my opinion, has wonderfully pulled off an origin story of one of the most clever, artistic, and above all wicked villains I’ve ever seen! 3 twists come from directions you’d never see coming! And considering the wonderful performance of Emma Stone as the beautifully villainous Cruella de Vil, it just makes me more excited for what they have planned for the character and the 101 Dalmatians franchise going forward!
