Daphné Le Lys || Clair Obscur : Expedition 33

ART BY ME, DO NOT USE | HEAVY SPOILERS FOR CLAIR OBSCUR : EXPEDITION 33
Daphné Le Lys was born in Paris in July 1879 to Cassandra and Lucien Le Lys. Her parents were artists, her mother a ballerina and her father a cellist, so she was always immersed in musicality, right from the cradle. Although she was normally destined to follow in their footsteps, she eventually turned to cartography and sculpture.
Her family was extremely close to the Dessendre', and she was always close to them from an early age. Aline and Renoir regularly painted for the Le Lys family. She learned to walk and talk with Verso, and spent most of her childhood with him. They became inseparable, until a romance blossomed between them around the age of seven. It was during one of their escapades in the great greenhouse that Verso stole a childish kiss from Daphne, showering her with âI love youâ and promises. But he didn't really kiss her until they were both 15. A long, chaste kiss. They regularly went on trips and sculpted together, while Verso played the piano for the love of his life. They were rarely at home, but in Paris, they were mutually loved by each other's families. Rude as Lucien was, he thought Verso an excellent match for his daughter.
When they were 17, Verso secretly asked Daphne's father for permission to marry his daughter, which he didn't even try to discuss, and when they were 18 they spent their first night together after a performance by her parents at the Paris Opera. Despite the many conflicts with the Writers, Verso and Daphne managed to live happily against all odds. They lived happily ever after, and he presented her with the ring in 1903, on Daphné's birthday. She said yes without hesitation, and they became officially engaged in the autumn of that year. The wedding was planned for early 1906, after Verso's 27th birthday. Daphne conceived before the promised date, and it was only two months later that she died in the terrible fire of 33 December 1905, trying to save Alicia. Verso tried with all his might to get them both out of the mansion before it was too late, but could not. Instead, they both lost their lives as the exit to the mansion became blocked and prevented them from leaving after Alicia's escape. They lay side by side in death.
Aline could not bear the pain of these events, and plunged into her son's canvas to paint an exact likeness of his family. In conflict with her husband, who didn't appreciate her mourning methods. The repainted Dessendre family, the Daphne of the Canvas, is a magnified version, linked to the perception of her mother-in-law, and having exactly the same life as the original one, with all its memories. Still engaged to Verso, she never becomes pregnant. Where the Fire did not kill any of them. Joining Expedition 0 of LumiÚre after the Fracture, to search for her mother-in-law and survivors, Daphne discovered from Cléa that it was only a simile of the real world and that nothing was tangible. That she and Verso had both died in the Fire, destroying her perception of herself and everything she thought she was. Not only that, but that Clea was the real Clea Dessendre, who had come to help her real father bring their mother to her senses and banish her from the Canvas, starting to seriously decline from her madness.
As she tried to kill them all, Verso shielded Daphne from his body and took a fatal blow, burning a hole right through his torso. Daphne understood that Renoir and Verso had been made immortal by Aline, but not her. This incident damaged Julie's trust in Verso and Daphne. She feared that it was he, Renoir and the young woman who had murdered the other members of Expedition Zero. It was with the help of her team-mates that the young woman managed to capture Verso and his fiancée, and to question him, against Daphne's pleas not to hurt him. When she saw Verso being questioned and tortured as a result, she subsequently broke down and tried to confess the truth to Julie about the Web and its contents, before being mortally wounded by the painted Renoir, much to Verso's dismay, who, manipulated by his father and his distorted ideologies, murdered Julie, Dion, Claude and Louise in the process, fleeing with his father and leaving his fiancée to her fate alone, believing her to be as immortal as them, in view of the situation.
A grave mistake, Daphne died after long hours of agony, a resentment growing for her fiancé and her father-in-law. She was recovered by Aline's emissaries, as she was unable to leave the Monolith. Her body disappeared from the cold stones, while Verso retraced his steps for a while before returning to LumiÚre, only to find that Daphne's body had vanished, leaving behind only a puddle of blood and a few light-brown hairs. Distraught, broken, ashamed and guilty, he wandered the Continent until Renoir urged him to return to the city. He was unable to admit to her parents, who were just as repainted as their daughter, that he was responsible for her death, and lied when he told them that he had been unable to save her from enemies he had met along the way. These events, the truth, the loss of Daphne, of Expedition 0, of Julie, and of everything he believed in, created a rift between Verso and his father.
This led to his departure from LumiÚre, and the beginning of his search for Daphne, not accepting that she could once again be far from him, and through his fault. With the help of Esquie and Monoco, Verso helped on numerous expeditions and tried desperately to find his fiancée, realizing much later that it was useless, and that the last vision of Daphne he would have was of her big, snowy eyes, surprised, and the blood escaping from her body. His name coming from her lips, and a hard realisation. At the same time, Daphne was painted again by Aline, but she understood the stakes led by Cléa and the True Renoir, so she made her an Emissary destined to sabotage the Expeditions and her husband's projects. However, Daphne had negative feelings about the repainted version of her stepfather and did everything in her power to harm him. She was also looking for Verso, but never came across him. At least, not until Expedition 33. That's when Verso met the ghost of his fiancée. A woman with long white hair, cadaverous skin, vanished pupils, almost black bluish lips and dried blood stains on her Expedition outfit. He barely recognized her, and barely had time to counter her blow before realizing what Aline had done.
Enraged by the whole tragedy and its consequences, Verso was unable to hurt Daphne, and vice versa. He took her frozen body in his arms and begged her forgiveness. But Daphne, bitter about what had happened, could not forgive him. Or so she thought. She often got in the way of Expedition 33, but lost more and more of her conviction, of her hatred for Verso, and finally gave up. Attempting to kill Renoir herself, she failed on numerous occasions, unless Alicia Painted intervened, or Verso when they met in the Old LumiÚre. On the Monolith, Daphne met death one last time, at the hands of her painted stepfather, shortly after their fight, confronted by an angry Maelle and the Curator, who was in reality the real Patriarch Dessendre, ready to gommage him. Renoir slit her throat in front of Verso, frozen in place, she turned towards him, unable to say anything, took just a few steps before falling onto his shoulder and sliding to the ground, her eyes wide open towards the void. Renoir disappeared, and silence fell. A long, terrible silence that lasted several minutes, Lune, Sciel and Maëlle frozen by the violence and absurdity of the gesture. Verso realised, and knelt down beside her before holding her close and cradling her against him, murmuring things that only he understood, imperceptible to the others, nestling and hiding in his neck.
Having to continue the mission, he promised her he'd come back for her once he'd finished with Aline. They killed her Avatar and freed the True Renoir from its prison beneath the Monolith, before flying off on Esquie's back. Verso came to fetch her alone - she hadn't moved, unlike the last time - and took her to the copy of Le Lys Manor, now deserted due to the death of its owners at the hands of the Gommage, and left her to rest in her old room, lingering in her presence for several hours. He promised her that he would return before the Canvas was destroyed, and that he would find her. Even after he had disappeared again.
In the ending to âA Life to Loveâ, Verso finally leaves, his fiancĂ©e being one of his last thoughts, before he is released from his burden and everything finally disappears. The Dessendre family mourns, joined by the Le Lys family, at the joint grave of their respective children.
At the end of âA Life to Paintâ, Verso is condemned to live on the Canvas, and DaphnĂ© is brought back by MaĂ«lle/Alicia, in the same way as her parents, and finally marries him in spite of everything. They are unhappy with MaĂ«lle's decision, but will have a daughter named Aurore, thus fulfilling the expected end that Real Verso and Real Daphne should have had.

Narcissa Willington â Age: 26 (Eternally) â Around 158 centimetres tall â A haunting elegance â Resides: London's Countryside- Westminster / Saint Bartholomew's Hospital â British â Sexuality: Straight
Narcissa is the daughter of adultery between her mother, Eve-Sophie, and a lover who was none other than their banker. She always thought that her mother's partner, George Willington, was her genealogical father. In fact, Narcissa has always known money, beautiful houses and dresses and has never really had to worry about the rest of her life. Especially when she married Andrew Lumley, a Protestant minister in the Church of England, to whom she gave 5 children: Daphne, Catherine, Colin, Anthony (stillborn) Luke and Desmond. Narcissa insisted on keeping her maiden name in spite of everything. She did not work.
Of her children, only Daphne and Luke survived the fever and the various hazards of life. It was during a conversation in the King's castle that Narcissa met William McLoad, who served as protector of the crown for a long time. Many people warned the young woman to stay away from him because of his strange appearance. But Narcissa, being a good Protestant Christian, didn't care.
The Downfall...
However, a terrible attack occurred in the Lumley home: creatures of the night, devils, wiped out the family, except for Narcissa, who managed to survive. She was bitten and bled to death. She was saved in extremis by William, who gave her some of his own blood because he had no other choice. Alas, she in turn became what she prayed to be protected from. Narcissa would remain beautiful for the rest of her life, 26 for eternity. Narcissa became a vampire.
Narcissa, under William's wing, was made aware of her new abilities, but saw no advantage in her condition, as she did not want to live forever. She stopped at doors, didn't go to church, didn't read her Bible, didn't feel anything. Or just the opposite, she wasn't sure. She spent several years like this, before beginning to regain a taste for what she was killing: life. Although she tried to remain âomnivorousâ when it came to her bloodthirsty diet, Narcissa found it hard to resist the thirst for fresh haemoglobin. She isolated herself for a long time, despite her sun collar, despite her training, she just couldn't tolerate it. So, in 1744, she used her powers to find a solution: she studied medicine, impossible for a woman at the time, and also became a surgeon. An art that allowed her to feed, help and be useful to society at the same time. All the while staying locked up as much as possible.
And Narcissa was devilishly talented. She came up with some fresh ideas, despite the prevailing misogyny, and liked the idea of being called Doctor Willington. Despite having witnessed the horrors of disease, death and slavery, Narcissa remained fairly positive about the future. She later met Seth Maggart and his little family, as well as another vampiress by the name of Katie Holmes and his wife (then flatmate) Jane Harvard. They become her friends and allies in society. Around 1900, the Vampire Consulate was created, and she decided to adapt by becoming a pro bono lawyer for creatures of the night. And, in the 1940s, as a hunter of those who could not be saved. Today, Narcissa is a powerful Vampiress whose methods may be morally questionable, but they're not evil. And she's still active.

Maria â Most Likely : 28 â Around 169 centimetres tall â A mirage â Resides : Heavenâs Night / Ashfield â State of Maine â American (?) â Sexuality : Unknown, most likely pansexual
Maria is a dancer born from a wish and who lives at Heavenâs Night, in the flats that are settled next to the building, at least accordingly to her, she doesnât seem to be coherent, as if she remembers things as she goes on. She often recalls them as she sees something familiar, for that matter. Confident, flirtatious, blunt and quite tactless, she doesnât seem scared at all to speak her mind, though her mood swings at times without explanation.
Accordingly to her, Maria regularly feels as if she is living a constant hungover, and sometimes acts with no sense of logic due to that very same reason, although Maria is somewhat living creature who still constructs itself as days does by, she was the most talented dancer at the Heavenâs Night and was frequently asked for her performance, whether they were. She always had wished to be taken care of by someone who had the means to do so, and tends to feel deeply jealous when the attention isnât on her, and can burst out in anger due to that. She tells people she is âwho they want her to be.â
Note : I play Maria as a construct of Jamesâs perfect vision of what Mary couldâve been if you play James. However, if you donât, Mariaâs personality can slightly shift to accord herself to what your character wants from her, as she is a creation from Silent Hill itself to torment the sinner. As James, I would play her throughout the game, and if we do after it, Iâll be playing her as in the MARIA ENDING.

James Sunderland â 180 or 5â11 â29 years old â American - State of Maine - Sexuality : Straight - Status : Widow â Resides : Ashfield
James Sunderland (born : 1965) is the protagonist of Silent Hill 2 and the son of FRANK SUNDERLAND. He is / was a clerk at a basic office job but worked less due to his wife, Mary, being sick until she unfortunately passed. As now on, James is a widow who lives without his wife, but recently, he came to receive strange letters from her : indeed, Mary wants him to go back to their special place : the even stranger town named âSilent Hillâ.
James is a man of few words, he is aloof and speaks plainly and can be sometimes even socially awkward. He can be unaware of social cues, and is quite blunt in his way of speech. Though, if he notices someone does need his help, or isnât feeling well, heâll be possibly softer, and youâll discover patience in him, many people think he doesnât have. For sure, James is traumatized about his wifeâs death : Mary. She unfortunately suffered from what doctors thought being melanoma, a rare type of skin cancer that is expensively dangerous, and passed.

Since then, James turned nihilistic, finding solace in heavy drinking and the warmth of bars, and incapable of overcoming his heartbreaking grief, he saw his wife in every woman heâd meet, though he never engaged in relationships with them. Yet, James has his dark sides which he hides ever so desperately behind a portrait of a good man who adored his marriage and worked wonders for it so.
Note : if I play James during Silent Hill 2, be aware it is going to contain heavy themes, and the original game is set in the 90s. If we play after Silent Hill 2, I am going to use the LEAVE ENDING (which is my canon ending) and if you play as Maria, I can use the MARIA ENDING.

CANON : I use mostly what is canon to the muses I play. I stay with what I know and can sometimes go overboard a bit, but I never change a perspective above a character.
SLOW REPLIES : I write lengthy, which means I am a bit slow (if not very much so) to reply to threads. Donât think I ignore you : I am most likely busy, or writing our answer. If I didnât answer in a week or two, message me.
FOLLOWS : Follows are done from my blog @diamondodusto only.
ROLEPLAY : I donât role play with minors. This is simple as that.
PRIORITY : Old threads and mutuals go first.
I am blocking anyone who shows even the slightest disagreement about those rules, queerphobia, hatred and so on. I do this first and foremost for my own amusement, and I wonât let any one ruin this for me as far as I am concerned. This is a simple as that. Same thing, toxic members of fandom will get automatically blocked, I donât speak with incels either.
