Greetings and Salutations! It has been a while, hasn't it?
Working on a logo for my OC's, all influenced by mid-century hand-drawn lettering that you would see with music groups.
Please leave a note about which one is your favorite and why.

This is a nigh perfect blend between music and comedy, in my opinion.
Favorite parts:
"Who cares what the orchestra costs."
And
"You can't understand a word I'm saying?!"
absolutely in love with this segment from The Alvin Show, and so much so that i need to share its joy with the world. love those stylized, inventive layouts and the downward spiral of Dave Seville

The Mascot Gets animated! Finally!
This animation process started out with a sketch from my "sketches of David" David's shooting pose is a Spider-Man crouching pose, helped by Instagram user Toyzology, with a Han Solo flair.
This took me at least 3 days off and on to work on, and it serves as a test for how the faux celluloid effect translates to animation.
First things first, the double blur effect that I normally use did not work when applying this to the animation. Thus, I had to use a Gaussian Blur set at 20.00Px at 33% opacity. Being 200.00mb already, I chose to eliminate the drop shadow.
Making this animation gave me more respect for animators, both professional and hobbyists, because of the oodles of work that are involved in animation.

Magic Dot
Alex Griggs's Magic Dot is an entertaining exercise that relies on spacing.
I had fun doing this exercise, it might be a potential warmup whenever I feel like animating.
I created this using the "Animation Desk" app, unlike my usual method of using Krita.

Sorry for the radio silence! Here are some sketches of the unofficial face of the blog, David Montague!
David is a very old oc of mine along with his other colleagues. He's probably my favorite character to draw.
Below is a semi shaded full body version of David.

Below is a sketch of David without his coat in contrapposto. This was my favorite pose because it captured the cool essence of the character.

Did you know I took a medical illustration class in High School?
It was both fun yet challenging for me since realism is not really my forte, But I really enjoyed learning and drawing parts of the human body like the eye and the hands.
Fun fact, my eye illustration was partly based on Osamu Tezuka's Alabaster. Due to the translucent skin. It was also a self-portrait because I used my eye as a reference.

The colored sketch in the middle is a Dollars trilogy-influenced younger version of David.

an Earlier attempt at an Ink Postcard Memory, 2024

this was an earlier attempt at an inky postcard memory. Albeit more sketchy and gray.
Made in krita.

Ink Memories or a Street Fighter's Elegy.
So back in the heyday of my faux cel explorations, I played around with different brushes on krita.
Especially the ink brushes from the inktober brushes pack.
This is a minimalist low detail tribute to the "Postcard Memories" technique made famous by Osamu Dezaki. A still image to emphasize a critical moment in a scene. While most Postcard Memories would be made with pastels and goauches, my take on the technique would only rely on ink as it is a versatile tool if handled properly. By reducing the technique down to one medium, there's grit, motion, and rawness all by using a thick fudpen and a splatter.

Still Testing...
Tried to make the inking bold, like The OG Flintstones. However, the ink pressure varies, like the O.G Lupin III Manga.
Brush used: Thin Comic Brush for the line art,
Ink damaged texture for the sketches underneath David, Jaclyn and Roger.
And Wet Paint details for the coloring.
Colors are by ligbi.
