I've done this exercise before, but in rigged animation, and in 3D with Maya. It has a bit of a weird pop, and I think I need to space the balls apart further when descending so it falls faster. Good note for next time! Sometimes I see people do crazy camera angles and moves with simple exercises like this, and add so much speed and character to the ball. I want to get there too one day. For bouncing balls I definitely need to work on my arcs, always. And I think it might be a good idea to actually do some straight ahead animation for it as well. Pose to pose is a bit stiff for it (as told to me by a friend) lil guy got bonked

Theogony Animation Project Progress

I’m in the middle of production for my animated short film based on the Theogony and the actual animation process is a lot of work.

To show my progress, here is an unfinished animated scene I did with the main villain of the film, Kronos. I still need to color it, add more of his design details, and manually animate the swirling clouds.

For context, it’s depicting the part of the Theogony where Kronos realizes Zeus and Metis poisoned him.

This project has been a lot of fun so far. Be on the lookout for when I finally release it (which will most likely be a while).

Day 90, 19.02.2025

Productive day today! (ignored all my math homework for thus drawing session, nice)

so I (almost) finished this animation exercise!

I still have to add in details in this one, show that the pool's frozen somehow, and draw some simple background

and I started this one!!

I've always wanted to animate some crazy ass chase scene, so right after two ball bounces and two flour sack jumps, I felt confident enough to make a dynamic run cycle IN PERSPECTIVE because why not

oh man, I feel like I overestimated myself again but let's go, I guess

that'll keep me busy for the next few days, that's for sure
