Dead Man's Fingers Rum

Taste: 5.5/10

Design: 8/10

Flavour: Passionfruit Rum

Inoffensive mixed rum drink. Was it tasty? It was okay, but that's not why I got it. The can is gorgeous. I love a bold design and the electric green works wonderfully with the pink, while the secondary colours- muted purple with antagonistic golden yellow flecks, bring everything together. The linocut skull looks fantastic, the font is interesting. It's a very urban, edgy design overall

I'm sure rum fan would enjoy this can more- it's boozy with a much appreciated twist of both passionfruit and a fizzy lemonade. Regardless, I still enjoyed it enough and appreciate how it brightens up whatever shelf it sits upon

Arizona Kiwi Strawberry

Taste: 7/10

Flavour: Kiwi and Strawberry drink

Arizona is in general one of my favourites, as the drinks are consistently high quality. This can is a simple, refreshing combination of kiwi and strawberry in a fruity cocktail. It's not as cloyingly sweet as, for example, a Fanta of the same flavour profile, and offers a more tart and natural flavour. The design features the classic Arizona logo and skull in a unique colour combination above bunches of fruit. While there's a lot going on, the design doesn't feel overcrowded. The space is used intentionally and having the very unique and textured designs in the range tied together by the common theme of cow skull is satisfying

Against the Current Kombucha

Taste: 7/10

Design: 8/10

Flavour: Fruit kombucha

A lovely light drink. This kombucha has a multileveled acidity that makes you want to keep drinking, which is unfortunate given the size, I would love to see this in a 500ml version. The fruit is understated, if not to say lacking, as the rhubarb gets completely overshadowed by the hibiscus and kombucha itself. However, I don't mind the lack of sweetness I was expecting it to bring, as the steady and fresh acidity keeps it drinkable. The art on the can itself is definitely a plus and definitely impacted my decision to get it. Promising a bit more than it can deliver? Perhaps, but I'm not too disappointed

Suntory Strawberry Milk

Taste: 7.5/10

Design: 7/10

Flavour: Strawberry milk🍓🥛

Simple but bold design and a solid, creamy and full flavoured strawberry milk. Not overly sweet or overly strawberry, very much a light flavour but definitely not disappointing. The milk has a chance to shine through and pulls it's own weight, not becoming second fiddle to the strawberry. The can is a pleasant pink and features striking red and black script on the front

Dr Pepper

Taste: 6.5/10

Design: 6/10

Flavour: Cola/Mixed fruit

Like the UK Dr Pepper but less pepper, less spiced. A lighter flavour but still complex and interesting with the typical notes of cola and mixed fruit. More suited to hydration over casual sipping compared to the sweeter western one.

C.C. Lemon

Taste: 6.5/10

Design: 5/10

Flavour: Lemonade 🍋

A solid "tropical" lemonade. Subtle undertones of pineapple but the result is slightly disappointing. Not as refreshing and lemoney as the original or as fun of a pineapple flavour as it could have been. Nevertheless it's sweet, acidic and very pleasant on a hot summer day.

We have gathered here in my little piece of heaven to enjoy one of life's greatest pleasures- a Canned Drink. Who is to deny the boys cracking open a cold one? Who is to deny a diva a diet coke? Does the gender not seek the fluid? Does the nonbinary not crave the cannery?

All these questions and more probably won't be answered here. But that's not the point. The point is to grab your favourite canned beverage, sit back and enjoy these wonderful, colourful gems as I document my journey through the vast and wonderful world of Cans . You can't catch them all, but you can love those you catch
