August and After - 10th December 2015
Tumblr media
Vedantha Kumar and co-vocalist, Ned Mortimer, became close friends at university, bonding over a mutual preference for songwriting over essay writing. They forged an immediate musical chemistry, playing long into the night and honing their complementary voices and intricate guitar playing. After growing their fan base with a collection of home-recorded tracks, Embers, the boys met classical violist, Jordan Bergmans, at a Christmas party on London's South Bank. Realising her immense ability (to make both music and chocolate mousse), the boys courted her for several months and, with her trademark laugh, she fell with open arms into the band. Several moons later, the acclaimed ‘Wolves’ was born, receiving plaudits from the likes of BBC 6 Music and Kerrang! Radio.

MAC MCCAUGHAN (SUPERCHUNK) - 11th November 2015
Tumblr media
Superchunk frontman Mac McCaughan released Non-Believers earlier this year, his first solo album under his own name. Coming from the indie and punk rock worlds, McCaughan has always shied away from the perceived hubris of putting out a record under his own name. “There’s something about it that’s way too ‘look at me,’” he admits. However, given the fact that Non-Believers explores a very personal set of influences, putting out an album as simply Mac McCaughan for the first time just makes sense.

Leo Kalyan - 10th November
Two years ago, London-based Leo Kalyan uploaded a refix of Duke Dumont's Need U (100%) and Jessie Ware's Running to Soundcloud. Anchored around his own delicate vocals, it popped up online for the purest of reasons; because making it was fun, the result of Kalyan teaching himself to produce. “I literally just put it up because it was a sound I was working with at the time,” Kalyan explains. “I had the instrumental and I thought I'd do a cover of some sort and then it turned into a mash-up. One blog posted it and then another blog posted it - it was all really organic. There was no plan.” In fact, this sense of just organically letting things take shape permeates the self-styled “oceanic beats” Kalyan's made since; from the percolating electro-soul of Temptation (his first original song), to the stuttering majesty of the Karma Kid and MNEK collaboration Over You, to the recently released Silver Linings EP - his is a sound that luxuriates patiently, washing over you in its own time. “I want people to connect to my music. I want them to feel things” he says.

Lyla Foy - 1st October 2015
Tumblr media
For a project that began as a single song in a London bedroom, Lyla Foy’s hypnotically hushed songs have come quite a long way over the past years, figuratively and literally, as her unity with Sub Pop finds her spending quality time supporting Mirrors the Sky across the globe. Funny how taking a singular route has led to such a momentous journey.
Having been in the studio over the last six months working on new recordings, she is back with a special intimate performance at The Courtyard Theatre in London on 1st October 2015. The show will feature a lot of new material, which will comprise her next release.
