Every time I try to talk about Charles Xavier and the intersection of disability and gender and how his occasional depiction as being androgynous (his body is essentially interchangable with Cassandra's, Claremont wanted him to crossdress, etc) and how his physical helplessness due to his disability also makes him less masculine / effeminate in the eyes of the reader and audiance and how gender roles and having a disabled body bounce off one another, I always get flashbacks to the "Tony Stark is female coded" post and have to stop myself. There's a genuine essay there but unfortunately you can't talk about it without sounding slightly insane.

Have we forgotten that Darwin is a code name? His name is Armando.

A lot of fanfics I've read recently have him named Armando Darwin or Darwin Muñoz or they tag Armando Muñoz but just call him Darwin. I'm guilty of referring to him as Darwin as well. I could just be making a mountain out of a molehill but when he's the only character that is consistently referred to as his code name instead of his name, even when all the other characters are using their names not code names, it feels gross.

Armando Muñoz, people. That's his name.

we all know that Erik is a possessive bastard but i think that he would like it when Charles is possessive too. like Charles says that Erik is his and Erik is on his knees immediately. idk how to explain that in a way that would make sense but i think he likes feeling that he belongs to someone

unless they specifically asked, you don’t get to tell a fanfic writer you think they mischaracterized the character by the way. because the second someone writes a fanfic about a character, that character becomes the writer’s own version of the character. canon is only a suggestion, but whether or not an author will follow it / how much of canon an author will take is entirely up to them. you don’t get to stick your nose in their world and tell them “hey this is not to my liking therefore I think you’re doing it wrong” when you can simply leave quietly and move on to something else you may enjoy
