While I’m certainly not as active on Tumblr these days I wouldn’t mind enjoying some hooks/RPs potentially either with the snek himself or my current new favorite which is tied to him Shodraxz. Official NSFW/Lewd Twitter Made!

Tumblr has become a pain in the ass with things and I recently had my blog flagged for NSFW content despite you know… not really posting much in the way of NSFW stuff except for ONE MAN NIPPLE!

So this is a bit of a PSA for anyone who happens to have a particular Tank mount that they would like and are potentially 80 or simply able to solo particular content.

PSA GO TIME!

For anyone interested in getting the A Tankless Job/But Somebody’s Gotta Do It achievements and you are able to solo any of the ARR EX Primals (IE: Garuda for example) you can simply repeatedly do this and it will count towards those achievements SO LONG as you are the tank you wish to be. Just know, you gotta do it 200 times for the Achievement but if you do it roughly 20 times a day you’ll get it in 10 or so days! I only had 21 leftover before I got my Panther here for DRK and I was so happy, so I basically slapped Garuda 21 times and got it plus nightmare!

AND If you want to get the Battle version you can do this just as easily by Solo running the SB Dungeons! I’ve run Bardam’s mettle to test it and this DOES COUNT towards the Tank You achievements! And like I mentioned about if you want to do a 20 a day thing then it’ll just be 15 days or so, less depending how much you have done already obviously! 

I do not know if this works for Gunbreaker because I do not have it high enough to do any tests but for Warrior/Paladin/Dark Knight you can easily get these mounts now!

I’ve been wanting to do something like this for awhile since I saw the templates quite some time ago. So why not make this a Meme of sorts for people who want to do it?

Crafting and Crystals

So it’s no secret to anyone that I started playing FFXIV because I played FFXI first over the span of several years.  One thing I like to do is to take little tidbits that I remember from FFXI to apply to FFXIV rp, especially in crafting.  I can imagine this stuff isn’t news to many people, but I mostly wanted to write it down so I have something handy to refer back to, and to share with people that might be interested.

Crafting in FFXI was not so streamlined as it is in FFXIV (at least in my experience); crystals of all elements were used regardless of the craft, the process was automatic and had a chance of failure, the day of the week could impact the effectiveness of each crystal, and each crystal had a specific use (all of which can be found on FFXIclopedia).  The role of each crystal is as follows:

Fire - Burning or heating Earth - Bonding Water - Diluting, Dissolving, or Liquifying Wind - Carving or Cutting Ice - Freezing or Congealing Lightning - Disintegrating or Desynthesizing

FFXIV’s system is very simplified; each craft predominantly uses two crystals (occasionally using others depending on the recipe).  My assumption has always been that this is done most likely for balance, so each crystal type has only 2-3 classes it’s needed for.  Here’s the following breakdown of crafts and their respective crystals:

Carpentry - Wind and Ice Blacksmithing - Fire and Earth Armorsmithing - Ice and Earth Goldsmithing - Wind and Fire Leatherworking - Earth and Wind Weaver - Lightning and Wind Alchemy - Water and Lightning Culinarian - Fire and Water

Arguably, the same uses for the crystals can still apply (based on my limited knowledge of the craft, so people are always welcome to correct me):

Fire - used to heat the metals used in smithing and allow culinarians to cook food on the go without fumbling with wood, coal, etc Earth - used to bond materials together for leatherworking, blacksmithing, and armorsmithing Water - used to dilute, dissolve, and liquify reagents and ingredient in alchemy and cooking (or even just to produce water obviously, which serves the same purpose) Wind - used for cutting cloth for weaving or carving up wood and metal for carpentry and goldsmithing Ice - cools the metal for armorsmithing or to congeal the glue used in carpentry Lightning - used to break down materials to make thread during the carding process for weaving or to help break down reagents for alchemy

As far as roleplay goes, characters don’t need to be restricted to just these crystals.  There are many ways you can use crystals outside their designated craft.  Leatherworkers and carpenters can use heat to help shape leather and wood.  Smiths could easily use fire crystals to heat the metal before shaping it, ice crystals to cool it after the metal is shaped, and perhaps a mix of fire and earth to bond the pieces together (people have already mentioned using fire crystals for welding, so here’s a possible example of using both in tandem).

Not a crafter?  Fire crystals can potentially heat a home or water crystals could be used to help produce fresh water during a long journey.  It all depends on how you want to use them.

Characters certainly don’t have to rely on them, either; it’s simply some added flavor based on how you feel your character fits into the world.  There are risks with working with crystals after all, such as potential aether sickness depending on your level of sensitivity, or at worst, potentially creating dangerous entities such as primals.  It all depends on how you want to play it for your rp.

Strange Moon in the Desert (Open RP?)

Ul’dah was never a stranger to… strange things coming into her fold but this was certainly not like any of the others. The Keeper was by far something that stood out amongst the crowds of the city and easily caught anyone’s eye the moment they caught a glimpse of his form. Something that was more strange was that birds and other various animals seemed to follow behind this Keeper as he would stroll through the town and take in her sights. And the local wildlife wasn’t the only things that seemed to flock to this strange Moon Keeper… children seemed to be drawn to his presence as well and overall… this stranger seemed to enjoy their company and help with entertaining them however he could.

Many things seemed unsettling but also… alluring. Overall, the Miqo’te looked to be slowly growing out of the teenage years and into those of a young adult, somewhere around eighteen or nineteen at a glance. His skin a dark tan color with a hue of dark grey-black to it… an almost earthy tone really one could say as it seemed to make one think that he was one with the forest. More so because of the vibrant white tribal like painted on markings that seemed to give off a moonlit glow to them. Those were not the only things to have this moonlit glow however…

Long, wavy and silken hair made its way down his form like a waterfall to the backs of his knees… it was a very dull silverish hue that emitted a moonlit glow like that of his markings. And if one so chose to look this strange, almost celestial being in the eyes, they would be met with almost solid moonlit orbs from a distance that shared with that eerie glow as the rest of his form did. Of course, getting closer meant that the silver iris would be visible, barely but it was there and the darker silver slitted pupil was also present with the rest of the eye being a grey-ish hued sclera. His makeup, or so one would think, was dark and he had a very dark eyeshadow that made those glowing orbs stand out even more… the darkness continuing down to black lips which shined ever so slightly as well. 

He carried himself on the tips of his toes… which seemed almost catlike with paws and toe pads on the bottoms and overall his height was just slightly taller than your average Miqo’te where he seemed to reach roughly six fulms at the top of his head. The biggest feature on his form however was the large and bushy like tail that swayed behind him… it wasn’t like any Miqo’te’s for sure and seemed almost canine like with its structure. This tail, much like his hair, gave off that moonlit glow as well but more concerning was what appeared to be spines that would stick out in the various areas of fur on it… no doubt sharp to the touch.

Dare one approach this strange Moon in the heat of the desert as he took to strolling Ul’dah’s streets once again?

Id’agni, Voice and Eyes of the Forest

“Are you looking for my fathers…? Do they know you…?”

Information coming soon but if you would like to send any sort of questions for this character feel free poke me, I am still developing him right now and getting his story set. The short of it is that he has ties to Toshinaku and Shodraxz, but what those ties are will be kept secret until I finish work on his page. He’s meant to look like a Miqo’te/Au Ra cross but… turned out more Fae/Elezen Forest Creature more than anything as I got more into the art.
