Apparently a lot of people get dialogue punctuation wrong despite having an otherwise solid grasp of grammar, possibly because they’re used to writing essays rather than prose. I don’t wanna be the asshole who complains about writing errors and then doesn’t offer to help, so here are the basics summarized as simply as I could manage on my phone (“dialogue tag” just refers to phrases like “he said,” “she whispered,” “they asked”):

“For most dialogue, use a comma after the sentence and don’t capitalize the next word after the quotation mark,” she said.

“But what if you’re using a question mark rather than a period?” they asked.

“When using a dialogue tag, you never capitalize the word after the quotation mark unless it’s a proper noun!” she snapped.

“When breaking up a single sentence with a dialogue tag,” she said, “use commas.”

“This is a single sentence,” she said. “Now, this is a second stand-alone sentence, so there’s no comma after ‘she said.’”

“There’s no dialogue tag after this sentence, so end it with a period rather than a comma.” She frowned, suddenly concerned that the entire post was as unasked for as it was sanctimonious.

Henry Jekyll is a monster-fucker. It’s common knowledge by now but it still needs to be said.

Anyways, MORE WEREWOLVES!! This time it’s Morcant tho because I love her so much and can’t wait to see her in TGS. I’ve done a lot more in the way of romancy and/or sexyish/suggestive art in the past few weeks, which is… weird… but it’s fun and good practice.

(Also is my day 15 not showing up in the tags??? it hasn’t been flagged, but it also hasn’t shown up in either the ‘j&h inktober’ or ‘the glass scientists’ tags. :\ )

OC RELATED CRACK AU!!

Based on Adrien's (@plotek-the-first) personal story and OCs, a crack AU where the "other halves" get swapped for a month accidentally. Jekyll gets Eldritch (the skull which includes demonification) and Baron gets Hyde!

Jekyll becomes and 8'5 demon and Lanyon is heavily into it, (for reference Lanyon is 5'8 here). Jekyll also gets Baron's clothes.

Bonus: Hyde, showing as alleles, shows as Baron's alleles when he gets to come out. He's a ginger and he hates this.

This prompt immediately made me think back to when YouTubers would have alter-egos, like darkiplier or anti, and have them glitch into their regular videos to make their audience completely loose it. So here's Hyde glitching into reality for a split second while Jekyll is trying his best to pretend nothing's happening.
