Right now I have two human AUs that I've written a lot of notes down about: One was initially Tuggoffelees-centric and then I got way to into making up stuff about the Deutoronomy brothers (especially Munkustrap....) so it deals a lot with their respective backstories. That AU is what this fanart of mine was inspired by!

The other one is... basically not even achored in canon the slightest bit. Ornithologist!Munk and Traindriver!Skimble, what can I even say to my defense. But that's what my other fanart was inspired by!

I have about 5k words of notes and headcanons written down for the first one and only like a thousand for the second one but literally please ask me about them, force me to finish one of my oneshots I'm begging you......

I've decided to share some of my professional work here as well!! I'm currently studying painting at an academy and this is one of my favourite works of mine, 'Angelus', that I sold at our academy exhibition this winter.

Angelus, oil and gold leaf on wood, 13x20cm, January 2025, is a painting inspired by christian icons and my fascination with seeing nature as a sort of higher being. While I am not christian, I find the culture and influence on art throughout history interesting, and looked into the tradition of icon painting; what colours are used, how is the wood prepared etc..

A hazelnut I had laying around in my room caught my eye at around the same time and reminded me of the shape that is attributed to biblically accurate angels. It's difficult for me to describe what I mean when I compare nature to religion without sounding like I'm in some sort of cult but to put it simply, I look around me and see all the beauty of nature, a plethora of shapes, colours, beings etc. and find it hard to see the need for any other higher power or institution.

(Not that I won't go into every church I come upon anyways. You can't keep me away from stained glass windows.)

I think in this age of technology and AI, it may be important to find a way to see and highlight the importance of nature and engage with it with more intent and meaning.

I painted directly onto unprepared wood, but started out by transferring a sketch onto the wood and carving the sketch out with a scalpel. Around the hazelnut, you can see the untouched wood. The sides are decorated with small pieces of gold leaf, onto which I painted a sort of aging effect with a thin layer of paint.

ooo thank you for asking!! I think the part I enjoy the most about my fanarts is definetely the sketch on paper... I love the way digital art looks but nothing can beat drawing the 'old-fashioned' way. But in terms of my fully digital works I love adding the little final details like shading the nose or adding highlights!
