Luvin Louisville's Creative Energy. While staying at The Galt House Hotel filming for Trending Today. I discovered Artist Gibbs Rounsavall, a Louisville based geometric abstract painter working in residence at the hotel. Gibbs grew up in a family of artists. His grandmother and great grandmother were both accomplished in quilt making and needlepoint. Today, Gibbs draws inspiration for his brightly angled geometric artworks from his family heritage of craft. "Bright colors and patterns were just part of my upbringing and I subconsciously came back to this. It's like in my DNA as a kind of a language that has been spoken throughout generations in my family. My great grandmother crafted quilts and I think she was also a geometric abstract artist but there wasn’t a name for that back then," Gibbs says.
