It's always bothered me that when people adapt Kafka's Metamorphosis they depict Gregor Samsa as a roach. Cockroaches do not undergo metamorphosis. They are born as nymphs which are just smaller wingless versions of the adult form.

Kafka writes that Gregor can only enjoy rotten food. Which also makes him not at all roach-like. Roaches strongly prefer fresh vegetables to rotten ones.

And, of course, he gets stuck on his back, not something roaches struggle with nearly as much as beetles.

That's why always imagined him as a beetle. Which implies that the man Gregor was a larvae for all his pre-bug life. I thought that was the whole point of the story... We're all grubs, but Gregor reached the next stage though sadly none of the grubs in his family could understand him.

Dean calling Castiel "Cas" after only having really talked to him for like 30 minutes, says so much about their relationship.

Also that he does this in front of Sam, while Cas isn't even there. Sam hasn't even met Cas yet and only knows about him because of what Dean has told him.

How does Jason not have body dysmorphia? I mean, when he died he was a 4’6 and barely 100 pounds, and then the Lazarus pit gave him a crazy transformation of an added 18 inches of height and additional 130-ish pounds. Like how does he not feel like a stranger in his own skin? I was just thinking earlier how Jason really would relate to Metamorphosis by Franz Kafta with the way that he probably didn’t recognize himself in the mirror after waking up from the pits, along with the onslaught of negative emotions flooding his head - feeling like a monster just like Gregor Samsa had - anyway this has been stuck in my head and needed to get out.
